After this season, which in my opinion was the second weakest season (third one is the weakest) i have come to the conclusion, that there is not alot of things left for me, that really keeps me hooked, because our main characters, most of the time this season, didn't had that much progress and some of the best episodes in this season, where actually about side characters.

 

Let's look at some of the good episodes this season:

 

The Crystaling
Gauntlet of Fire
No Second Prances
A heartswarming tail
The Times they are a changeling
Dungeons & Discords
Buckball Season
The Fault in our Cutie Marks
To where and back again

 

With these episodes, i see a very strange trend here. Our Main Characters, are not the main protagonists in here. They are all replaced by side characters, like Big Mac, Maud, Thorax, Spike (he is a side character for me and always will be) Discord, Starlight Glimmer (she was handled like a side character) etc. While the Mane 6, the characters which where build up tb care the most about, are stepping aside.

 

It's not only that, but the ones that do actually feature the mane characters as the focus, are actually kinda bad.

 

Let's look at those episodes:

 

Newbie Dash
Applejacks day off
The Cart before the Ponies
28 Pranks Later

 

I am not saying all are bad. Saddle row review was probably the best episode of this season. But you also have episodes Flutter Brutter, which just made me just made me shake my head.

 

I think it's kinda clear for me, that these writers just don't know to do with the main characters anymore. Rainbow Dash is finally a wonderbolt. Rarity has now 3 botiques in Equestria, Fluttershy is not afraid anymore, Twilight Sparkle came into her own, as a Princess and the CMC have their Cutie Mark. What else can you do, when the main goal of this series has been accomplished?

 

Also, some people will probably say "well, what about Scoots disabled wings for example?" They will never tackle this, because they always have played it safe with serious topics. Scoots wings, the question if Twilight is immortal, AJs supposedly dead parents and also if the Mane 6 will have a love interest. These are all stories that are not for this show to tell.

 

What i hope for, is that they bring Season 7 to a close, as good as they may can, bring out the Movie, which i hope is a good ending for the show and then a few years down the line create a whole new show, with new main characters that can grow and that we can fall in love again.

 


If you don't agree, that's fine by me. But i think it's time to close the book, that opened 6 years ago.

I think the show still has some fight left in it. Sure, the mane 6 might be running their course these days, but that's why many other things are now getting focus. This allows for more characters and more worldbuilding, as well as exploring new ideas. I still do think that the show will end after the movie, so we may only have one season left anyways.

I also want the Show to end, but my Reasons are a little bit different. XD

 

I can understand what youre saying...i think, i hate it if certain Series just seemingly go on for ever and after a while you almost already saw everything.

 

I have the same feeling with The Walking Dead at the moment, i dont really see a Goal anymore, it just goes on and on and on and everything feels the same, you have a new bad guy, he kills some main characters, main character kills him, than you have an even worse villain, he kills some main characters, the main characters kill him and so on and so on.

 

I dont really see a Point in watching anymore, the same with Mlp, some of the Lessons are similar to older told Lessons and the Jokes repeat themselves to much.

It gets boring.

I felt like the show needed to end after season 4, but season 5 convinced me that the show still had a lot of potential. Have a little faith, this hasn't been the weakest season to you, so perhaps what they do in season 7 makes you change your mind. Anyway, I do agree that the show needs to end before it jumps the shark and ending it with the movie would be appropriate. If it ends there fine by me, if we get more seasons fine by me, as long as I'm still interested on the show.

They've said multiple times, "Twilight will not outlive her friends". So no, she's not immortal. The characters have not "run their course" and in fact by accomplishing their goals, it opens up new stories.

The show must find a conclusion though. In real life, many people are happy with the one true dream job they have accomplishment and want to live on it from the rest of their life, because it's realistic.

 

Just give us a new series, with a new cast of characters, with new dreams they can accomplish. Else people will get tired of these ponies.

I don't want it to end. Only because i am not as critical on these things as other people. With shows and films people like to really get involved and make an opinion out of everything where as i just like to sit back and enjoy it. This makes it so all the stuff that people seem to be getting tired off less bothersome for me.

It is a shame going on this site and seeing people wish for the show to end though D:

I was 20 years old when this show and fandom started back in 2010 now 6 years later I have too think why don't just end it with the movie and later on make gen 5 with a new story but i'm still going to be in this fandom after the show ends because I joined it to make friends so i'm not leaving anytime soon because after the show is over the fandom well still be here making stuff for us too watch to get the fandom alive I know a'lot of you people don't want this show too end same as me but all story's must having a ending but i'm okay if the show dose a few more season's just as long as they keep coming up with new stuff so i'm on two sids here that's all.

I just got a feeling that there would be a civil war between bronies who like the show have to go on,and the other side who wanted the show to end o~o
