A plea freinds of LGBT...please be nice.

This is a thing I noticed happening a lot. As someone who is in the LGBT community, I notice a lot of people putting others down in my name. There is a segment of the population that thinks it is okay to bully call names and sometimes worse others. IT IS NEVER OKAY TO bully others, even if you think you are right.

What I mean is people will say something such as “people who don’t support LGBT rights should burn in hell.” This type of behavior is completely unacceptable, good intentions do to make good actions. It comes off as rude and ironically hurts the chances of them ever coming to the side of LGBT. If you create a US vs. THEM mentality, how do you expect them to ever learn? The thing that pisses me off the most about this is this type of behavior is becoming more acceptable. I have seen countless, post on this very site like this, it seems if you are mean to white people it is okay.

I guess my main point and conclusion is that verity is the spice of life. As much as I would love for everyone to support everyone it is simply not going to happen. The straight white male needs to have as much respect as a black trans woman.

I am not "pro-LGBT", but a human being is a human being, no matter what. No matter your background or views or anything, all people are entitled or basic respect and decency. Someone saying they think you're wrong, no matter the subject or what side they're on, does not constitute a reaction of frothing rage. Everyone you'll ever meet thinks you're wrong about SOMETHING.

If someone is insufferable, do not suffer them. Remove yourself from the fight. Don't drag yourself through the mud to prove how correct you are. You're just wasting precious time you could be using to actually enjoy life. This applies to pretty much all situations and topics. Find better company.

And on a side note, pretty much every friend I've ever had has believed something drastically different from me, one way or another. But that didn't stop us from enjoying each other's company. You can still play video games or watch cartoons with someone that thinks you're wrong.

As a trans person, I can say I have never been discriminated on. What discrimination are you referring to specifically?

I am bi, white, and trans although it is irrelevant to my topic.  I am not talking about racism, so I am not sure why you bring that up.

You made an assertion that "they" made it us against them. That means the burden of proof is on you, to provide an example of what you are talking about.  Because as a trans person, I have NEVER experienced any discrimination whatsoever.

I

am not denying some amount of prejudices exist. The only thing I really said was to be nice to everyone. The point being making it US vs. them makes our lives harder. We want people to learn about us and to accept us... not be held at gunpoint and forced to accept something they don't agree with.

??? do you realize being friendly doesn't work with these people

it's best to just ignore them entirely lol

the reason i asked for your race is merely because that can greatly affect the discrimination you receive lol. for instances, hispanic and black families tend to absolutely fucking hate LGBT people, ESPECIALLY trans people.

also, i'll ask it again, are you or are you not cis-passing

Cis-passing?

Why does this sound so negative?

Because they are trying to use it in a way to make my opinion less valid.

I guess I am passing that is rather subjective though hu?

This all comes back to my personal motto "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." It means revenge just leaves everyone worse off, it is best to play nice and be friendly even if it doesn't work. let bygones be bygones

I only go against those who go against me. If they hate the fact of my sexuality, then I will hate them as a person. Simple as that. If one doesn't exactly agree with LGBT's, whatever. I view that viewpoint as a wrong one, but, whatever. The moment someone starts hating it is the moment my tolerance goes to zero.
