Fluttershy Leans In is the WORST EPISODE IN THE ENTIRE SHOW (non-spoiler rant)

*Just finished watching Fluttershy Leans In*

Oh boy, i have a very very very veryyyyyy few good things to say about this episode... .The idea of the is good, Fluttershy has reach her next level of her development, so what is so bad about this ep? The executions.

THIS EP IS SO BORING. It's a Applejack's Day OFF with humors are minimized to nothing, what wrong with pacing? Why the episode pacing is so slow and dull!? OH MY GOD, i called Mare Do Well the worst episode because of how shitty the mane 6 in that ep, but NOT the PACING and HUMORS, that shitty ep can even have proper 3 acts writting. The characters are just souless, even Pinkie look so dull. The antagonists are shallow and uninteresting. The humors are non-existence. And the climax... oh god... i can forgive a terribly slow pacing story but at least the climax, the most important part of the story should reward me for endure the over half of the episode, the climax is just non-existence, i got nothing, NOTHING.

MLP with non-existence humors and shallow story in the same episode, what the hell is that? Even season 1 episodes are not like this. If i am a kid, i will switch the channel if i watch some episode LIKE THIS. If this is the first episode i watched of this show, there will be no "me", who is fanboying for this girly show, although his mom questioned his masculinity for watching this show.

Worst episode of this series. This ep give me the new lowest standard of FIM episode. I dont care if the writers wrote shitty morals, cringe-worthy humors, unfortune implications, controversies, flanderization, torture porns, and many stupid cliche plot,  as long as they dont do WHAT THIS EPISODE DID, they will never be the shittest episode in my list.

It could be the best Fluttershy episode ever, what a waste....

.........................................

I have to spend some times to rewatch all episodes i considered the worst of this show, maybe i will see them in the different ways this time. I will start with Mare Do Well...

How did you see the episode already?

Also, HOW CAN IT BE WORSE THAN "APPLEJACK'S DAY OFF"?!!!!!!!

I think i didn't hated it that much. But yeah, the episode just felt so empty and lifeless and boring. I felt almost nothing watching this.

I thought it was a good episode but I understand that you didn't like it very much. We all have different opinions after all.

It was forced kinda. Like oh Fluttershy needs her dream too, then no interaction with other important characters, just a forced dilemma due to a random group of pony's incompetence and inconsideration.

For kids tho the ep might be viewed differently, but idk, I am not a kid. Worst episode ever? Hm, the cart before the ponies did have a Derpy/Rarity sorta gag going I guess, and more content per minute average probably. And adults can be silly, kids need to realize that too. So yeah its worse than that episode, but I don't think I saw AJ's Day Off, don't remember it. Hm.. *googles*

Hm, I can see how it is worse, as AJ's day off actually has 2 main characters interacting more than just simple agreement. But idk not like I memorized both episodes, so I could be wrong.

I downloaded from Youtube before it was taken down.

Fluttershy Leans In is even more souless than Applejack's Day Off. At least, Applejack's Day Off  try to make character interaction entertaining, or try to be funny, if they didnt make the spa scene too long, it would be just another mediocre ep, not the worst episode of S6.

I can see why people like this ep, they like Fluttershy character development, they may like the moral, but to me, entertainment value is my first priority, and the episode failed to entertain its audience, no, no, it didnt even try at all.

They should let David Rapp write this ep...

I'm with you on this. It's up there!
This episode should have been the easiest thing in the world to do well.
This should have been Fluttershy's victory lap! Her Canterlot Carousel! Her place on the Wonderbolts! A showcase of just how far she's come and all the good she can do! Both for animals and the ponies around her
...but it just wasn't

It wasn't interesting. It wasn't compelling. It wasn't even funny.
I'm mad because this feels like something Fluttershy's character was always working towards. And instead she's reduced to little more than a characature, shouting at guys and blathering about her dreams while showcasing none of the virtues that make her who she is and make her worthy of making her dream a reality in the first place.

I'm mad because I know this show can do better! And has done better countless times! And I want it to show that! I want this silly little show to succeed and be the best it can be!
But instead some dingus called Gillian M. Berrow blows what should have been one of the show's standout moments On this piece of NOTHING.
It's Nothing! And now that's one of the best opportunities this show's ever had, gone. forever.

Flutters and the show itself deserves better

When i read the synopsis of this episode, i thought "It's a Fluttershy episode, there will be nothing wrong with it" and this happened... Now, i am scared because anything can happen...

G.M. Berrow is one of writers that i am exciting to see her return, her lastest episode is so funny and well-paced, WHAT HAPPEN? I heard she wrote 4 EPISODES, what will happen with other 3??? :adorkable:

G.M. Berrow, I am SO disppointed, i wish this ep belonged to Fox Brothers or Neal Deseau, and you are worst than them. I will add 1 wish to my wish list for S7: G.M. BERROW WILL REDEEM HERSELF WITH HER OTHER 3 EPISODES.

I know man I was super excited for this too... but I guess it's always been like this.
Honestly I'm drawn to this show because anything can happen.
While so many better shows guarantee quality every time, this show is like a insane dice roll or a roller coaster or something! You never know what you'll get or how good it'll be.

Sure I'm mad we got a bum deal now and Ms. Berrow is yet to prove she understands the show or the characters she's writing for but.... we never know so I'm not worried about her (yet).
It's frustrating when it goes wrong but it's fucking exciting!

Am I insane?

This is why I enjoyed it. It is also why I enjoy Mare Do Well more than most. If there is something I can find that increases my satisfaction with a character, a redeemable trait, I tend to enjoy the episode more. There are episodes I hate, but these are usually ones that drop every ball important to me. My biggest issue was the repetitive dialog following the termination of the three contractors. Half of that scene in the cottage with Fluttershy stopping her friends from giving their suggestions repeated the prior scene, and earlier dialog.

I just saw the episode. I was so confused throughout the duration that I could not determine whether it was a good or bad episode. I think it was bad, but I am going to say it was good just because of the return of that guy from Hooffeilds and McColts.

I signed up for this forum just to agree that this episode is so bad that I am afraid to keep watching season 7 in case the people who made this episode are in charge of further episodes.  This episode is bad in the way modern Simpsons episodes are stomach-churningly bad.  Were all the talented creators busy working on the movie and this episode was outsourced to a country where they don't normally have or understand tv shows?  A film school thesis could easily be written about everything poor about the script.

A bad writer wrote a bad script, but my problem is... why do story editors allow those crappy scripts to be made in the first place? No one realize this script is crap and need to be rewrited? I dont get it.

I still give the writer a chance, i hope she can redeem herself....
