Our Miniature Schnauzer passed away.

It's been a very bad past 24 hours for my family due to unforeseen circumstances. Our Miniature Schnauzer, Rex, who was originally my older brother's dog before we took him as our own, was feeling fine until yesterday afternoon when he suddenly had a seizure. Nothing like it had ever happened before and I didn't know how to handle it. As the hours passed, he had two more seizures so we took him to a 24 hour Veterinarian Clinic to see if anything could be done.

We found out around 12:30am this morning that he suffered a massive seizure and couldn't come out of it. Not even medication was helping him to get out of it so the veterinarian said that the best thing to do was to have him put down. My mum has been absolutely devastated as Rex was closer to her than he was with my dad and me yet we never knew there was something wrong until it started happening. It might have been a brain tumour but we don't know as no tests were done so now my family has lost our second dog within the last four years. Right now, my age issues are working on overdrive and I've been unable to sleep properly, my mind plagued with nightmares of what I had seen and his little smiling face telling me that we should have done so much more.:(:(:(:(

I fear that I might lose my sanity because my issues have been a problem for the past dozen years. It will take us some time to get over this unfortunate loss but I hope that I personally won't go off the deep end since I am much more susceptible to this kind of thing than my parents are. Even now, I can't get his face out of my mind.
