Some thoughts....

For those who don't know me, I play a ton of video games. I have since a very young age.

When I go out, I usually take my DS with me and what not. Although, I feel as soon as I start to get into a game, something happens and it completely breaks my focus and I stop playing. It's freaking annoying as all hell.

I don't mean to transform this into a rant by any means.

I suppose I shouldn't be too mad. Besides, it would probably be smart to switch priorities. I have a Networking assignment due in less than a month and I'm not even 10% done. Knowing me, I'll wait until the last minute and then do it.

I don't know what it is? Every time I have class, I find myself staring at the monitor for 70 minutes and then it's over.

I think I just need a good way to balance playing games and doing school work. I just can never find one, because once I do something, it's a pain in the ass to get into something else. It took me 7 months to beat the new Layton game, because I've been very focused on classwork.

Bah!

Maybe you can have some time set aside just for video games, so you know when you can play, can dedicate your time to it when it's "you" time, and the desire won't overtake your other responsibilities.

It's happened to me, where I procrastinated by playing games. It took time for me to learn that video games will always be there in the end, but things with a due date won't. Do take the time to take care of work. Once you're done with all that, you will feel much at ease when playing games, because you're free of the worries of work deadlines.

As someone who has been gaming since they were six, I can say: it only gets harder. Nowadays I have the money to more or less buy any games I want, but the issue now is that I never have the time to play them thanks to working almost full time and other things. To top it off, the biggest issues are... Games are getting LONGER. So many games well over 100+ hours when back in the day a 20 hour game was considered "great!", and then you have the issue of they are releasing too many too quickly.

The older you get, the harder it gets to balance gaming with everything else in life.
