Why Sci-Twi Is My Favorite Character In Equestria Girls

The names "Twilight Sparkle" and "Equestria Girls" are two names that have become very divisive amongst members of the Friendship is Magic fandom since the year 2013.

Some say, that Twilight Sparkle became bland after she earned her wings while others have said that they like her even more in her new role as the Princess of Friendship.

 

On the other end of the fandom, you have a group of people who dismiss a series where our favorite ponies are portrayed as Kool-Aid hued high school students and

in particular, a timid glasses-wearing girl who represents the human universes version of the very Princess of Friendship whom the fandom had become split on.

 

This my friends is "Sci-Twi" the subject of my blog, a character that on the surface may look like a simple "Twilight Sparkle with glasses." but in reality is someone

who is similar to Princess Twilight while also being slightly different from her at the same time.  

 

For example, while Princess Twilight Sparkle may rule over an entire country her human counterpart has to deal with far more mundane activities such as homework and

the awkwardness of a first date.

 

There are many things to like about both versions of Twilight Sparkle but the one thing that sets them apart in my opinion is the ability to put yourself in their shoes. 

 

One battles mythical creatures while the other worries about deciphering text messages, one barely entertains the idea of relationships while the other has a

steady boyfriend, one has a puppy dog while the other one has a baby dragon...You get the idea. :P

 

In conclusion, there's so much more to the human world's version of Twilight Sparkle besides a pair of glasses, you just have to look a little to find it.

I thought Sci Twi was better because she wasn’t trying to “be someone” like Princess Twilight. She was just trying to be creative and inventive without destroying everything.

I agree. Sci-Twi being herself is one of the main things I like about her. :adorkable:

 Princess Twilight was too to an extent but she always had an unforeseen destiny looming over her. :worry:

I always find it interesting that Sci-Twi fell for a different guy than Pony Twi did while visiting the human world. I guess it's not IMPOSSIBLE for Sci-Twi to suddenly be interested in Flash, but Timber seems to compliment her much better. And of course, that's the fun of having parallel universes. There may be similarities, but the differences are where it's at! Only Sci-Twi became an evil magic villain for a while. Her pony counterpart never did, but perhaps the potential is always there? :dash:

Timber is smart while Flash Sentry is a dumb jock stereotype. The reason why Sci-Twi meshes better with Timber is because they're both similar.

For me, Sunset and Sci-Twi share the title of best human (the latter impressed me more and more as the series went on). What I like the most about Sci-Twi is her absolute adorkableness – I think she even beats Princess Twilight in that regard. :adorkable:

As for Timber, I liked the chemistry between him and Sci-Twi. Especially in "Star Crossed", one of the sweetest and most enjoyable EqG shorts. :kindness:

It's the glasses, IMO. I think that the characters in the Gen 4 universe look absolutely adorable when they're wearing glasses.

Maybe... :darling: Ponies with glasses are something we should definitely have seen more of, especially unicorn Sci-Twi! :ticking:

Most of my favorite EqG content had some interaction between the humans and the ponies, which is probably a big reason why I liked "Spring Breakdown" more than most people seemed to. :twi:
