Wasn't this series, like, one of the first few animes ever brought to the west?

Nice! :D It was a part of my childhood, lol. So you're very welcome. ^_^

I don't really think it was one of the first. I think it was in the 1960's that anime was brought to the west first. Astroboy being one of them.
