I recently finally got myself a Steam Deck! :kirin:

Yeah, that's Devil May Cry 4 on there. It's funny how the console told me the game was unsupported on Steam Deck when it actually plays fine for me. That's the only thing I really don't like about the console, that confusion for some of these games that will actually play fine with some minor tinkering, if you even need to do that at all. Other than that, it's awesome. 0P25Qzw.png

"Verified" usually means they're already built with the steam deck in mind or they've been retroactively worked on to run on the Steam Deck without issue. Pretty much any game can run on Steam Deck, just that there are some games that don't have "official" support so you have to mess with it yourself

"Unsupported" in tech verbiage often means "no promises" and "you're on your own". Sometimes, it means "it works, for now, but no one is going out of their way to make sure it keeps working". I bet it's one of these situations but hopefully it'll flip over to some version of "supported" soon!

Glad to hear you're having a good time with your Deck! I've only been hearing good things about them. They give me hope for Linux in the future of PC gaming.

Nice! I hope you have a lot more fun with the Steam Deck than I did! I bought a Steam Deck last October, but ended up sending it back as many games that I tried were not working properly even with mods. Games like Skyrim, HZD, and plenty more. I remember watching so many tutorials to set up things no avail. Maybe I had a dud? I would probably buy another one down the line or maybe an upgraded version.

Yeah, I did consider the possibility that it actually could run despite being unsupported. The confusion came more from the fact that the statement of the game I wanted to play being unsupported was followed by a statement of "some or all of this game doesn't function on Steam Deck".
