Why do they call him.. Sir?
How like a Sir....
Years ago, on July 17, 2022... I posted a picture of a cake I had made with a pony art on his profile.
Because I wanted to learn to be wholesome and celebrate! Little did I know, I would get banned for being wholesome. It was absolutely... perplexing.
So we decided to establish a safe space where we could be wholesome or at least practice it together.
This place was called Banterlot.
It was based on a friendship that bloomed through banter. A very sweet guy I met on here, MLPForums.com... exactly ten years ago. I found him to be so fascinating and fun. But I never knew or trusted people online. So, I kept my distance. And he would pursue me with his playful antics and shenanigans simply because we had such an interesting dynamic together back then.
I was a little more stern and distant back then due to my distrust but this specific guy managed to break through my barriers.
I began to develop feelings but not quite know how to express them - except - through Banter. As our friendship evolved into best friends and eventually a romantic love, we created a safe space called "Banterlot" under the title that would change a lot from "Lovelies" to "Starry Grove" our "ship" name.
One of the initiation games you would have to pass after proving that you were a real person willing to grow and evolve with a genuine interest to make similar friends -- was to repeat the tradition of Silky's banter on Sir by changing his name into anything silly and wholesome!
Since our timezones were different, he would wake up to a new name whenever a new member would join in and he would always say something along the lines of
"Hey guys! -- Wait a minute -- what is this name?
"
The only remnants of his name would be "Sir" this was the only exception to keep in order to know who it was anymore.
So, he eventually became known as "Sir" just to make it easier to remember him.
There were so many different variants of the name once someone new would join in!
He started out as Sir Hugoholic.
Then, those who were close enough to banter where it was not mean-spirited or rude would be initiated into silly nonsense.
Some people called him
Sir Froggy like @Silverspark184 did after he got "turned into a frog."
Sir Napoleon or Sir Derpington by @Bright Honor
Sir DerpsAlot @Ice Princess Silky <3
Sir CookieSneaker by @Sophie
But ultimately. Who is Sir?
Is he a chocolate milk fanatic?
Is he... an oxlotle?
When you need a friend to call and confide in but you do not know who that may be.
Is he.. Silky wearing a mask of Sir to pester people?
Is he the twin of someone pestering a person trying to read?
Is he... a dancer?
Top tier? :0
And finally... why do we call him Sir?
Because he is like a Sirrrrr
Thanks for being so awesome, Sir!
