Farcry 3: PC or Xbox?

sLORT

I'm considering getting Far Cry 3 tomorrow. Can it run on maximum settings with these specs?

OS: Windows 7

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M

Processor: Intel®Core i7-3630QM CPU @2.40 GHz

RAM: 8 GB

I also want to know if I have to download anything else with the game, like Games For Windows Live or some stupid, useless launcher that just clutters up my system.

If that's true, I'll just save myself some time and buy the Xbox version.

Your PC should run it fine.

Also, choose PC version for better graphics, as Chaotic Lightning said. And also because of how creative the PC community is. Think of the maps.

And all you need to download is Steam to run it (obviously).

Yeah, because if you want to play games on PC, you gotta shove foreign objects up your asshole.

By foreign objects, I mean DRM.

UPlay is need for the PC Version, so there's that. It's not too much of a Hassle, but I'm pretty sure you can't play offline (don't quote me on that). So pretty much constant internet access is required.

Makes sense if that puts you off the PC version.

I think on the console version you need to activate it once, and you'll be fine (for multiplayer at least). It's a lot of BS to play the actual game.

If you want nothing, you can always pirate the game. No advocating it, but surprisingly, it's the most convenient of all the options, in my opinion.

Exactly. If only we really owned the games we buy.. :(

If you wanted to do the under-handed tactic, you could always pirate the game and see what settings would work on your computer. Then uninstall after your little "demo" and buy the game to support the company.

This right here is a good option.

The game's better on PC anyway. Your laptop should be able to run FC3 on settings that would make the 360 cry.

Also, if you get steam, you can get lots of Free to play games like TF2, Alien Swarm, Alliance of Valiant Arms etc...

Unlike the 360, where you have to pay £20 for even the smallest DLC.
