Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage? is an upcoming DS/3DS title based on the hit tv show Adventure Time!

Now I heard of this title MONTHS ago and at first I got a bit worried. Typically when a tv show gets popular, the producers will make a video game to cash in a few bucks on their IP. This usually leads to some downright horrible games!

But series creator Pendleton Ward knows of this, and so he wished not to be another typical cartoon cash in. He himself has overseen the project and is very pleased in what he has seen. I do enjoy when a series creator wishes nothing but the best for their series and it seems Adventure Time might show some other people how to turn a cartoon into a video game, the right way!

Ever since I got into the show I wanted a game adaptation. It's a game based on fantasy, action, humor, and most importantly ADVENTURE! But I often wondered what would be the best way to make an Adventure Time game. I had a few good ideas. First was a Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest-esque RPG. Maybe turn based, or perhaps a more Paper Mario/Mario and Luigi style where you can interact to dodge attacks and build up combos, or even oddly a Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories style RPG.

Another good idea is of course the very definition of an adventure game, a top-down Zelda style game, with dungeons, bosses, puzzles, ect. I had a few other ideas like a Castle Crashers style beat em up, and even a point and click adventure game!

Then I saw earlier today that they settled on a Zelda II side scrolling adventure title. I believe this is the BEST decision to design the game! An RPG would be too slow, top down Zelda doesn't really seem to fit Adventure Time, and a point and click adventure? Well It has the word adventure in it...

The game has retro gaming in mind and seems to look like a rich gameplay experience perfect for the amazing cartoon. I'm actually glad to see a cartoon IP being taken so seriously in video game development. It makes me think of the indie MLP titles being made, but in Adventure Time's case, these are official games!

I'm looking forward to this new title. It seems to be giving a good retro gaming vibe and a good gameplay experience perfect for hand-held consoles...

Now Pendleton, all this is great, but we could really expand here! Why don't we try this Point and Click thing? Make it like Monkey Island, add hilariously crazy solutions to simple problems, and LOADS AND LOADS OF FLAVOR TEXT! *Door slams in face*
