Angel Beats is a pretty good starting point, I agree. It's got action, comedy, drama and a dash of THE FEELS. I'll throw a few recc's out too.

For straight up action/violence, Black Lagoon and Burst Angel

For harem/high school comedies, Haganai and Oreimo
