I just came back from my 2nd physical therapy session since my latest work injury, and during the 1st visit they always check to see what is wrong and test your limits. So my 2nd session he was a lot harder on me than the first time so I am very sore and exhausted which I am actually grateful for as this is how I am going to regain my strength. My body has to re adapt to regular activity and it will not unless it is has something re adapt to. By the end of session I had trouble standing up but from my years of weight lifting experience I have learned that it is not the workout itself that makes your stronger but the recovery from it which causes the brain to send signals to the muscles to get them to grow stronger as they rebuild from the strain. While right now I may be so weak and tired that I can barely even stand up, I am clearly getting better. My range of motion is improving, pain levels are down and swelling is minimal. It will be at least another week before I am able to return to work but come Friday during my next doctors appointment I will have some good news.
