Independent Satanism is more "Christian" than Christianity

Christianity has identified itself for the longest time as a religion based around goodness and holiness.

Aside from it being the catalyst for plenty of massacres, wars, bigotry and horrible politicians, it's been alright. By "alright" I mean it's been corrupt and downright evil. Jesus wasn't much of a Christian, either. Considering he supported the poor and renounced worldly power, Jesus probably would make a better Satanist than a Christian.

Let's assume the guy didn't exist, and the New Testament was nothing more than a hermetic formula for spiritual enlightenment. If it is approached in this fashion, then Jesus is not only a Satanist, but Satanism in and of itself.

Jesus taught to love your neighbor as yourself, defend the harlots and cast down materialism. This is similar to the teachings of non-LeVayian Satanism, which is also referred to as Luciferianism or Independent Satanism.

Satanism has literally nothing to do with the Christian idea of Satan, but rather reflects the Judaic traditional view of Satan as a mentor, teacher or guide throughout life. Many Satanist don't even believe in Satan or any other gods and claim to be atheists, others do and actively worship him as a deity (theistic Satanism).

However, let's get back to Jesus and his similarities to Satan and other religious figures.

Jesus and Buddha had extremely similar teachings, which both described an altruistic journey. Independent Satanism/Luciferianism encourages people to live according to an altruistic ideology, but with an added dash of individuality.

I think Jesus would have agreed a bit more with modern day Satanism rather than the sheepish following of Christianity.

Considering the word christian means "pertaining to Christianity", your title is false.

Either way I'm not religious at all.

Christianity bases itself on the teaches on Jesus. So no, it's not false.

Well I read through this and I'm just going to take two sentences out of this to start.
I wondered why in the world its called Satanism when "Many Satanist don't even believe in Satan" but "view Satan as a mentor, teacher or guide throughout life." How can you have someone/something you don't believe in be your mentor? Speaking of which, :"Judaic traditional view of Satan as a mentor" That confused me, and though I'm not in the Judaic faith, as far as I know they believe the complete opposite that Satan is the opposite of a good leader.

When Satanists worship Satan, they worship a metaphor for the Self. Basically, it's freedom from any sort of leadership.

And Jews don't view Satan as the "bad guy". He exists to give us obstacles to overcome. Unlike Christians' view of Satan as a fallen angel who wants to take everyone to hell, Jews do not believe in hell, so Satan isn't an enemy who can punish them for all eternity.
