My Little Dashie Review- Part 1: The Film

In a recent upload by a friend of mine by the name of StormXF3, he decided to make a movie based off the fan fiction, My Little Dashie. Now, I know many people have hated the fiction in general, but I'd like to provide my insight on the film and all 4 parts of the fan fiction series. Because if you didn't know, yes, there's four. Oh God.

Here's part one. In this part, I'll review the film. If you haven't watched it, I'd do so.

After watching the film adaptation of a fan fiction I haven't read in years, I was reminded yet again of a fan fiction that I have loved since I first read it. And this film gives a good adaptation of it. I have talked with, and became friends with, Storm, the maker of the film, over Skype. So I gained more insight on the manner of the film. However, this won't bias the review.

Now, I'll start with resemblance to the fiction. The film stayed quite true to the actual fiction, which I commend Storm for doing. He did, however, erase a few parts, such as NASCAR references, and the true final words. Which, in my opinion, was good to do, since the actual last lines of the fiction gave me the feels for a long time.

Next we'll look at the actors. Storm plays the body of the main character, Brian, who is voiced by the wonderful Derpybrony22. This, however, is the only voice that worked. All the other voices for the characters, such as Dash herself, had voices that barely resembled the actual character. I know they had limited people, but they could have done a better job. Many have complained of the fact that the only the main character's torso is showing. This, however, was used for the purpose that Storm didn't wish to actually voice the character Brian, and, finding it hard to lip-synch, called Derpy in, and they kept the camera on his torso. This was also meant to simulate what Dash is seeing from her point of view, which is quite nice.

Next, and finally, we have overall. Overall, it's okay. Not perfect in many ways, but it's quite good. They could have gotten better voice actors and stayed more true to the fiction, they could have made the entire fiction in that, for Pete's sake. It would have only been another 30 to 40 minutes to do the whole thing.

Movie Grade: A-

Stay tuned for the next review! Here's the line up:

Part 2- The First Fan Fiction

Part 3- The Sequel

Part 4- The Threequel

Part 5- The Final Part

Part 6- Overall Grade

Don't miss it!

Thanks for reading!
