Thank you all... for Helping Me Realize what's Important

My resolution for this year was to earn a thousand brohoofs. For a moment, I became so overwhelmed by the numbers. It's really all I thought about. I've been seeing all of these people that were ranking in brohoofs by the thousands. It made me want to be like them. I looked up to the members like Dsanders, Skylar, and ChampionRD92. They made me want to be like them; having the amount of popularity they had...

 

That was until I actually talked to them through PM's. I treated them like gods. But, in return, they just typed to me like I was crazy.

 

They helped me realize that they're really no different from me. They're just who they are, interacting with the members on here. They're just regular members, bronies, people of the community.

 

But, I'm not just talking about them. I'm talking about every single member on here. My brohoof counter was going up slow, and I felt so alone on these forums. But, that was until you guys lent me a hoof and helped me come to realization. In the end, brohoofs don't mean a thing. They're just there. If you just act like who you are... people will look at you no differently than someone like Sir Flutter Hooves or Dsanders.

 

So, thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. But, more importantly, I'd like to apologize. I let the brohoof counter corrupt my thinking. I thought that those with a ton of brohoofs were the most loved... but, that's not the case. We're all the same; bronies just interacting with each other through topics, PM's, and status updates. I was so focused on getting brohoofs, that... I forgot to interact with you. I think it's important I realize this before I go further into the year.

 

Again, thank you all. I let myself become obsessed with something that was never important to begin with. You all have changed my life for the better, and for that, I will be eternally greatful. I wish I could do so much more for all of you, but I'm just a teenager behind a computer screen. I can't really do much but extend my gratitude.

 

I'll never let something like this happen again. I'm going to make it my goal to be a better person than what I once was. Again I can't thank you all enough. I'm not leaving out a single one of you. You've all been kind and compassionate to me, and I couldn't ask for any more than that.

It's great to see that you've managed to realise this for yourself and know how much better off you are not worrying about this sort of thing, that kind of broader thinking ought to be applauded as it takes a lot more willpower to overcome these things than most people realise. Seriously well done things can only get better from here on!

*hugs back* You're a really great guy and I'm glad you see things different now :) We're all just regular people on these forums, just doing ordinary things. Popularity or how many friends or brohoofs you have, doesn't matter. :) I don't even keep tabs on my brohoof counter xD All I do is just have fun and post because this place has really changed my life and I'm not leaving for the world. So I'm glad you're having a nice experience here too :) Feels great to call you a pal ;)

Brohoofs don't exactly mean anything. Nor do post count. We're just pegasisters / bronies just like you... though some of the members are more immature then others *coughmecough* or more popular then others that doesn't mean they should be treated any different. Glad you realized that!

Im so happy that I could at least be a small part of helping you :)  Everyone is equal no matter about popularity etc, you deserve just as much as any of us :)

Brohoofs are just numbers, I  have many brohoofs myself, but.. does it really matter? Most of them are caused by me being silly in forum games. Just be Yourself, people like You for who You are, not for You COULD be if You changed something about Yourself . And popularity. Maybe they are popular, that's no big deal, it does not define who You are and from our conversation so far I can tell that You are cool guy.

The brohoof counter is starting to really bug me. It's like some kind of contest to see how many people have the most brohoofs and most people are intimidated to talk to them.

Brohoofs aren't much :D I like having them around, and it feels good to get a few, but don't live for the dang things :D A low brohoof count doesn't really affect what people think of you as much as how you treat them and others does. I've got 1,400 or so brohoofs, but I don't consider myself popular, and if I ever brag about it, it's usually in jest :D I don't take brohoofs, popularity,post count, or anything like that into consideration when I talk to someone. I want to be friends with people who will be my friend, whether they have 30 brohoofs or 3,000, and I think 90% of the users on this site feel the sane way ;)

 

Keep up the way you've been doing things, and you'll make plenty of friends. Friends are what matters, not brohoofs.

 

Because Friendship is Magic :D

I guess I just didn't see it. But, sometimes, you just need a good kick in the rear so that you can wake up and see the world for what it really is.

I'm glad you've come to realize the importance of friends here man. At the end of day, regardless of our popularity status here, we're all just mere individuals behind a screen. We're not perfect, and we are definitely not gods. So I'm glad you've finally come to your senses. You've been a great friend and I hope you do good in your journey to becoming a better person overall. :) *hugs*
