Twenty years ago yesterday, famed Peanuts comic illustrator and writer Charles Schulz passed away from cancer at 77 years of age. The following day, his last strip (created well in advance) circulated the papers. Now twenty years since his last comic strip, Schulz’s lasting legacy remains firm, and Peanuts remains iconic for both young and old.

Howdy ho good people. Welcome back to the shitshow that is the United States featuring its glorious brain dead cheeto leader, Donald Trump! Recently, the South Korean film Parasite won best picture at the Oscars. Haven't seen the film yet but I hear it is a masterpiece, nothing less. Sounds like it absolutely deserved this award. Donald Trump, being the putried spawn of the underworld that he is, made his own opinions known about this victory for the film at a rally in Colorado. Trump said the following: “How bad were the Academy Awards this year?” Trump asked his supporters at the event. “Did you see it? The winner is…a movie from South Korea! What the hell was that all about? We got enough problems with South Korea with trade. On top of that, they give him best movie of the year? Was it good? I don’t know. Let’s get ‘Gone With the Wind.’ Can we get ‘Gone With the Wind’ back, please?” Jesus. Fucking. Christ. Did the world truly end in 2012 and this is us in hell? Trump's stupidity and putridness has literally no boundaries and is always evolving. He straight up says that he has not seen the film and mocks its win purely because it is SOUTH KOREAN. THAT'S IT. So he not only insults the film's win because he is plain as day racist, but he also mocks a movie he hasn't even seen. How much of a fucking single brain celled dimwitted dumbfuck can a single person possibly be? Bernie Sanders is fighting and working his ass off to one day hopefully make things better for all of us and at the same time, Trump, a person that 10's of MILLIONS of people support in full, is busy mocking films that he hasn't even seen solely because of the country they were made in. Someone get me off this goddamn planet please. There is one positive out of this story though. The US distributor, Neon, had a very simple response to Trump: “Understandable, he can’t read.” Amazing. XD That almost makes this entire thing worth it. Reading that put a huge smile on my face.

I'm hoping that it ends up as a My Little Pony variation of the classic Looney Tunes shorts. It doesn't have to be a 22-minute long episodic series like Friendship is Magic, nor does it have to be 11-minutes. At least 5:30 that focuses on certain characters and their antics should be good. In fact, I will also say that it should also take some more cues from Looney Tunes(Or from New Looney Tunes, formerly Wabbit: A Looney Tunes series) in terms of slapstick and comedy, all while maintaining what made the series great. Take it from me. As someone who grew up with classic Looney Tunes, I'd say it would fit My Little Pony like a glove.

I've started making a PMV for the first time ever! I'm super excited about it, even though I've only put together about 10 seconds of it, so I wanted to share my progress so far! The song is Trouble is a Friend by Lenka, a song that been a favorite of mine for a long time. The first several seconds of my PMV is below! I'm really trying to nail the timing of the clips, but it's my first time, so! I'd love to add cool effects and stuff sometime like the really awesome PMV makers, but I have a feeling that this kind of straight from the show thing is all me and my free video editor are gonna be able to handle lol

I know for years now, I've had a negative and bad view on life and myself. Slowly but surely that is changing. I'm starting to see how much good there can be out there. How much worth I am to friends and family and my abilities in society. I know I've struggled with various things and still do but I gotta keep remembering that good things can happen in life to good people. It's just how this world is. With time, everything I want that will bring me happiness will happen. Do I wish all the bad things in life never happened? Of course I do. I suppose we all think that way for ourselves but everything in life happens for a reason they say. All the good and bad things in life have made me who I am today. I can't let the bad and negative things be my view on life and the world or describe who I am as a person. Life is like a roller coaster, it has its ups and downs but either you choose to fear it or you enjoy it and make it the best damn ride you've ever been on.

Okay, this one's kinda stupid, but I wanna get it off my chest anyway. Y'know what really grinds my gears? When you see people ice skating in a commercial (usually a pharmaceutical commercial where happy people are showing how happy they are to get their fibromyalgia and crohn's disease under control), and the woman is always wearing figure skates, and the man is always wearing hockey skates. Yup. That's how it's gotta be. No other choice, because as we all know, if figure skates so much as touch a man, he will instantly turn gay. That's how it works. Pffft. F*ckin' bullsh*t. I know, right? What a weird thing to get bent out of shape about. Well, see, the thing is, I'm a figure skater. And male, obviously. I also used to work in an ice rink, passing out rental skates, and we offered hockey and figure. I would always ask which type the customer wanted, and a lot of guys would act like idiots when I asked. They'd look at me like I was from outer space, laugh, or even get downright offended or insulted at being asked if they wanted figure. Some young guys even made extremely rude comments, like, "what the f*ck, dude? I'm not f*ckin' gay!" Seriously. I had people say that. And it wasn't just teenagers, either. I had adult men in their 30s and 40s look at me sideways, like I was asking them if they wanted high heels and a dress. Yeah, so news flash: men's figure skating exists, and not all of them are gay. Many are married to women and have kids. In fact, most are hetero. Sure, there's a higher density of homosexuality within the male figure skating community then in, say, football, but it's not the majority. And even if it was, so what? But that's not the end of it. There's the other side, too. I don't mean to suggest that there's anything wrong with hockey, and to that end, why can't the woman ever wear hockey skates? It so happens that hockey skates are generally more comfortable and functional for the casual skater who isn't doing tricks (jumps, spins, etc). Hockey skates would be ideal for many girls and women who just want to cruise around and have fun. In fact, I knew a female employee at the rink who did just that. She wasn't a hockey player at all. Just a recreational skater who liked to cruise around and have fun, and she had hockey skates. And she was actually pretty dainty and feminine, too, not that that should matter. My point is, why can't the commercials ever mix things up and do it the other way around? Both types of skates are suitable for both sexes and all people. I just get so sick of this kinda bullsh*t, y'know?

This is a follow up to the previous blog entry (read it first to understand Binary numbers): Subtracting two binary numbers is as easy as adding two binary numbers. In fact, it is the same. Computers deal with bits, and the number of bits are limited. The smallest number of bits that the computer can access is 8 bits, called a "BYTE" (a wordplay of "by eight"). 8 bits can contain 256 different bit pattern combinations, and that gives us the total numbers we can count using binary math with 8 bits. The origin of 8 bits is actually tied to characters, in order to store letters (to emulate old type writers). We are however still bound to 256 different bit patterns, when we want to include negative numbers. Binary numbers wrap around. The bit patterns keep repeating even when we run out of bits. That means that if we are on the number 255 and we add 1, we will end up on 0. And if we are on 0 and subtract 1, we will end up on 255 again. Note that 255 in this case is positive! Also note that we subtract decimal numbers here, not binary numbers. With a limited number of bits available, it is easier for the computer to simply ignore the subtraction operation for binary numbers as it is the same result to add a negative number as it is to subtract a positive number. An example: 9 - 5 = 4 (subtraction) 9 + -5 = 4 (addition) Without subtraction, the computer doesn't need to "borrow" digits. Instead, digits can be "carried" using addition instead. One system to deal with two operations, is simply smarter. Subtraction can then be disguised behind the scenes as addition with negative numbers. But we still need to know what a negative number is. We need to have a way to identify a negative number from a positive number. And we need negative numbers to be lower than positive numbers, so that we can "move backwards" in the bit patterns that the binary numbers represent. Remember how I told you earlier that binary numbers wrap around? It is the wrap around that makes the magic possible, and allows us to do math in the reverse direction. By adding a large number to our current number, it will most likely wrap around. Adding for example 256 to any number in a BYTE would equal the same number before the addition took place, since a BYTE can only store 256 unique bit patterns. The previous statement has a huge error in it, and that is, we cannot add 256 since the largest number we can represent in a BYTE is 255. If we go by BYTE size numbers, that is. I said 256 unique bit patterns, and if you think about it, one of them is 0. Since binary numbers wrap around, adding 1 to 255 should in fact give us 256, however it gives 0. And I also said if we could add 256 to any number, that would give us the same number, and adding 0 to any number would do the same thing. So 256 and 0 is the same number in the world of wrapping. Wrapping around can be a serious headache. But it has the solution to our problem: If we can only represent any number between (and including) 0 to 255. Then adding 255 to any number of our choosing, will wrap around the result to our number minus 1. We have a way to do subtraction by 1. So what is 255 then? The numbers wrap around so if we subtract 1 from 0, we will end on 255. That means, 255 must be equal to -1. Let's just stop here, and say that the value 255 can be both 255 and -1. Because that is the truth. Wrapping is a pain to understand, and we need to see it to believe it. So let's get down to the basics. In a world of BYTEs, where nothing can be smaller, binary numbers can be smaller, and they can wrap around at other values than 256, such as 128, 64, 32, 16, 8, and 2. Let's choose the wrap around to be 16. By doing that, we can in the most easiest way see how wrapping works including representing both positive numbers and negative numbers. We draw a circle, like an analog clock (read it clockwise). It has bars to represent each number, 16 in total. In the outer part of the circle, we name each bar with a positive decimal number, as well as the binary number limited to 4 digits (4 bits). The inner part of the circle has the positive and negative decimal numbers, if we chose to represent the binary numbers as signed numbers: At the top of the outer part of the circle, the bar is named 0. It is the wrapping point, as the numbers wrap around there. 16 and 0 are the same number, only we cannot represent 16 in a binary number with only 4 digits. Standing on 15, and adding (moving clockwise by) 1, will end up on 0. And standing on 0, and subtracting (moving counter clockwise by) 1, will end up on 15. You can also see that 15 is represented as -1 by reading the inner part of the circle. Another thing to notice is that half of the circle seems to be on the negative number side, and the other half on the positive number side. There are actually the exact same number of negative numbers as there are positive numbers, if you count 0 as a positive number. Let's dive deeper into this half circle. Look at the bit patterns of the blue numbers, the binary numbers limited to 4 digits. Notice the leftmost digit is 0 if the number is positive? And it is 1 if it is negative? This digit, or bit, has a name: "Most Significant Bit". It is the minus sign, telling us that the number is a negative number. If we want to play with negative numbers, then we can simply make a number negative by turning the leftmost digit from 0 to 1, making it act as a minus sign. That will tell us that the number is negative, however, it will not make the current number into its negative form. Here is an example, if you have the number 3, and want to make it negative, turning on the leftmost bit will yield the number -5. You can see it if you look at the blue binary numbers in the circle! We cannot negate a number without a specific formula. If we want -3 from 3, or 3 from -3, a negate operation, we cannot just add a number. We need to do an operation known as two's complement. Two's complement works on any binary number, no matter how many digits there are to represent the number. We don't need to think about the wrapping point. We only need addition, and an operation known as bitwise NOT. (In computer logic, both addition and bitwise NOT are done using a bitwise XOR on finite bit numbers. XOR is outside the scope of this blog entry!) If you have a binary number, you can easily do a bitwise NOT by stepping through each digit, and swap the digit from either 0 to 1, or 1 to 0. All the bits in the binary number will become inverted. If you invert something twice, it becomes the same value again. Let's try it on a really long and unknown binary number: 10010100100101010101001010101101111110001 Inverted using bitwise NOT: 01101011011010101010110101010010000001110 And invert it again using bitwise NOT will yield the original number: 10010100100101010101001010101101111110001 So, if you have 3, and you want -3. First represent 3 as its binary number: 0011 Invert each bit (using bitwise NOT): 1100 Now add 1, and you will end up on -3: 1101 Confirm with the circle above! So, we should be able to do the same with -3, to get 3. Let's do the same two's complement to prove that it works: 1101 Invert each bit (using bitwise NOT): 0010 Now add 1, and you will end up on 3: 0011 Confirm with the circle above! Yes, this is done with 4 digits, so that we can draw a circle with only 16 steps, and get a nice amount of positive and negative numbers, in order to learn wrapping and two's complement. But how do we subtract a number then? This is where you have to read the first blog entry (see the top for a link), for how you do addition with binary numbers. All you need to do is add a number that is negative, to subtract. It is that simple! And how do you get a negative number? With two's complement. This is the end of this blog, however, as a game programmer, I am using wrapping all the time... Next up in the blog, we have Binary Multiply... (See you next time!)

Hey. Y'know what really, REALLY grinds my gears? Screaming children. Mostly in restaurants, but anywhere in public, really. I have extremely sensitive hearing. Extremely. Life is very difficult for me to navigate because of it. Things hurt my ears that don't bother normal people. Screaming children in restaurants is really upsetting for me. Happy toddlers are far worse than crying infants. (Though that probably isn't the case from the parent's perspective, I know.) With crying infants, you get a bit of warning. It's not so sudden that you don't know it's coming. If an infant starts crying, there's a bit of a windup, and you have a chance to cover your ears. And it's not as loud, either. Happy toddlers let out sudden, shrill shrieks with no warning. It's like a gun being fired. No chance for one to cover one's ears. I have had to get up and leave many-a-restaurant in the middle of a meal, leaving my poor and very understanding parents to pay the bill and package the rest of the food to go. I carry earplugs with me wherever I go, but I cannot eat with them, or any hearing protectors, because the echo of the chewing in my skull in also intolerable. (Yup, I'm a f*ckin' nutcase.) This issue causes me so much grief that it's often life-deranging. I wish so much that there was a wide variety of adult-only restaurants. Y'know, besides bars, that is. (I'm not at all comfortable in an atmosphere like that, and that sort of place is usually even louder.) Why can't I just have some reliably quiet places to dine with my parents where we can talk and have a relaxing time without having our hearing assaulted? I hate this world.

I'll go ahead and put a strong language warning here because this might get dicy. Super Bowl commercials have always pissed me off. Oftentimes they are simply over-the-top 30 second cringefests from companies that have the money to waste on this garbage, with no real focus on the product. For whatever idiotic reason, the US general public obsesses over this trash. Yeah, let's root for the giant corporations to make overblown ads that don't even market the product. The 2020 Super Bowl ads however, were next level abominations. Deep Fat Fried, a great video podcast I listen to/watch, reacted to every single ad that played this year, so I too got to suffer alongside them. These ads were the embodiment of everything I fucking hate about this pathetic country. The vast majority of them were filled to the brim with celebrity worship and corporate bullshit, with a little bit of Trumptardation sprinkled on top. We got things like John Cena and Jimmy Fallon being insanely unfunny and uncharasmatic, but OMG they are rich celebrities so all ofus must adore it. That was a constant recurring theme of the entire thing. Celebrities being thrown into commercials because people are pathetic drones that are programmed to cheer in excitement anytime one comes on screen. Who needs any god when you have celebrities to worship 24/7? It is the American way! There was one commercial for some kind of...dip thing? It featured an entire cast of celebrities, starting with Ric Flair and even went onto (I think) lil Wayne, because fuck it. People will adore it because people with infinitely better lives than them are on screen. Walmart making an ad about small towns and local communities and businesses, despite the fact that Walmart has contributed to the murder of these things and they are as corporate as you can possibly get. They even had an ad later that showed just how much in the corporate pocket Walmart is, where they proceeded to essentially rape any decently known property you might love. They started the first ad with something like "America this, America that". That's what we need, more propaganda telling everyone that they are simply the greatest people in existence simply for being "Americans". I mean, it isn't like that shit is thrown in our face ALL THE GODDAMN TIME. We got commercials FOR COMMERCIALS. I am not joking. There were ads that were advertising upcoming commercials. People apparently ENJOY THIS. How has the US general populous not gargled bleach out of sheer stupidity yet? What purpose do these goddamn ads serve? All they are is a display of corporations stroking their own cocks with glee and americans are like "YEAH, AWESOME, I LOVE THIS", because of course they are. Most of these people couldn't give two fucks about the actual football game and even though I hate football, the game itself was actually not half bad, it was a million times better than the worthless shitshow from 2019, where a bunch of overpaid shitheads did nothing for 4 hours and got paid millions for it. Doesn't matter either way, because these putrid commercials are the "stars" of the show. Later, we got some Trump ads too. GREAT, that's just what I wanted. Two or three commercials focusing on the worst president we could possibly have gotten, a person that is the embodiment of all that I despise, gloating endlessly about how he has saved everything in the US with absolutely zero proof to back it up. There was also an ad for him about how he saved this black woman from prison who was serving a life sentence for some non-violent drug offense. WOW, how amazing of Trump to save her with his "criminal justice reform", even though this is the same guy who wants to outlaw flavored vapes. The same guy who has done NOTHING to address the horrendous health care system, or income inequality, or poverty, or homelessness, or billionaires becoming even richer while the rest of us can GET FUCKED. LAND OF THE FREE HOME OF THE BRAVE MY GODDAMN ASS. Every Super bowl has to begin with that pathetic national anthem, but it is all for nothing, as these ads are clearly showing. The star of the show for me was Planters, the peanut company. They killed off their mascot back in January which was a painfully obvious setup for some stupid bullshit and stupid bullshit is what we got! Instead, they bring Mr Peanut back but as a BABY NUT. It doesn't get much more "american" than that. A giant corporation, completely ripping off some other stupid thing that everyone else is obsessing over (baby Yoda) and creating their own abomination. Immediately following this monstrosity, it was revealed that there's already a shitload of products lined up about Baby Nut, which clearly means that they had all of this shit lined up long before this ever aired. So they show zero creativity and instead conform to a plague of a trend and now they are already going to milk the ever living shit out of it and all of us are apparently supposed to enjoy this. Gee, I wonder why I am such a cynical bastard. Let's also not forget that when Planters started showing Baby Nut off on Twitter, other corporate brand Twitter accounts were commenting on those posts, hoping to reap in the benefits of this conformity. God Bless America, because some sky deity blessing us is all we can hope for at this point.

For today's entry in the Godspell, I want to discuss prayer and meditation, and how it relates to Discordianism. The concept of prayer is defined as "a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God or an object of worship." Therefore, one should (theorectically) pray to Goddess Herself whenever possible, right? AHAHAHAHAHAHA. WRONG. Let me clarify something for ya: Eris has better things to do than to listen to her cosmic voicemail all day, going through each little prayer, whether they be actually important or not. Now, I'm not discouraging you from praying to Eris outright; in fact, I strongly believe that prayer is a powerful force and can accomplish miracles if done correctly. However, to pray constantly and for every single thing is not only foolish, but dangerous. Malaclypse the Younger explains thusly in the Principia Discordia: See, here's a little known fact/belief about prayer, at least in my opinion: it's a ritualized form of chaos magick, one that has (in one form or another) been connected to religion since prehistoric times. It is inherently connected to the eldritch and cosmic forces of the universe, and should therefore be approached cautiously and with a solid idea of what the hell you're doing. That is why we Discordians seldom pray to Our Lady: it can be freely abused and have disastrous consequences. So if you really want to pray to Eris, make sure it's damn important enough for her to hear. So, if prayer is out of the question, and you do want to show devotion to Eris, then what do you do? The answer can be summed up in one word: meditation. Even when Eris isn't communicating directly with you via pineal gland, her presence can still be felt everywhere and anywhere. Yes, even in your bedroom and bathroom. Don't ask - she just likes to watch. ANYWAYS. Considering Discordianism's roots in Buddhist and Hindu practices, it really shouldn't come as a surprise that meditation is more viable than direct prayer like in organized religion. Meditation allows us to grow closer to Goddess and therefore Chaos itself. It also provides an eased state of mind and body, perfect for those with anxiety and a lack of focus like myself. So without further ado about nothing, here's a five step guide to meditation! Clear your mind, and get into the lotus position. Maybe out on some relaxing meditation music. Focus on a specific mantra; mine is "There is no Goddess but Goddess, and She is my Goddess. Hail Lady Eris. Hail Discordia. Fnord." You can also use Zen koans or even the classic "Aum/Om" Close your eyes. Breath in and out. Do all these steps for between 10 and 23 minutes per day, 3-5 times a day. Should you follow all these steps, you should feel a tingly feeling throughout your body, and the feeling of your soul connecting to the rest of the universe, if only for those briefest of moments. You'll end up feeling more relaxed, sharp-minded, and have a deeper understanding of the cosmos. Join me next time as I discuss the story of my conversion to the Erisian faith, what Discordianism can mean to you (yes, you), and the conspiracy theories all around us.

It's time for another weekly Samurai Fact! This week's fact... Ronin. Otherwise known as drifters or wanderers, ronin are commonly described as "masterless samurai". However, that definition is overly simplified and misleading. To be more precise, ronin are people who USE to be samurai, but have lost the right to hold that title due to losing the masters they were suppose to serve. A samurai's typical defining trait is their loyalty to their masters; specifically their daimyo's. Should something happen to their master, by order of Bushido, they are suppose to commit Seppuku/Harikiri and die out with their master. Therefore, any samurai who fail to do this are in opposition to bushido, and cannot rightfully call themselves samurai anymore. Some ronin refused to commit ritual suicide under cowardice. However, due to errors of the class system, there were times when samurai were forced to become ronin against tradition; usually when a samurai was meant to be transferred to a new clan or master but nothing came of it. Many ronin were pretty upset with the system, since they still had plenty to offer and desperately wanted to serve as samurai since they still had a lot to offer for their country. But hey! It's not all bad. Sure some took to crime just to make ends meet, but plenty of ronin could still get jobs. They could be hired body guards, bouncers, or they could eventually become part of the Shinsengumi!

So after a bit over a week of intermittent crocheting I have completed my first complex plush: Baby Yoda. There is a lot of learnt whilst making the project which I will take to other projects. I very happy with how it turned out and am looking forward to completing more projects eventually creating my own patterns. But now I need to focus on my revision and mocks.

I begin with my home made CNC machine. We are making this with my friend, and I have planned to submit it as a diploma work too. At first it will be only for drilling PCB boards. On the far future we will upgrade it to allow us milling stuff (like clock with pony drawing?). We are using an AVR ucontroller (Atmega328P), so no pre-made controlling will be used in this project, only some libraries. Later we might change it to the STM32 family, when we will be better in ARM programming. Yeah, ARM is not that "easy" like AVR family. Anyway, I do not want to take too much time from you with many lines, so here is the current state of the device: I'll keep updating the stuff as it completes slowly.

So I've been wanted to do this for a while and finally decided to start doing it. I'm making a my little pony plush. Originally I wanted to buy a really nice one, like that cool princess celestia we always see on the internet,... BUT! Those are really expensive so we're going to make one instead. It's just a simple plush made from flannel I got at Joanns but I'm super exited. Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures when I'm done. That is, if it actually looks like a pony

When programming games for a computer, either it being a game console, or a PC, it is very handy to understand how binary numbers work. The Ones (1) and Zeroes (0) that control the computer's brain, the CPU, as well as the bits stored in memory or on physical media. While bits are patterns of Ones and Zeroes, and can represent anything such a text, or graphics, it is also used to store and calculate numbers. These numbers are stored in binary form, and the CPU knows how to read them. We humans can read them too: 11001011011 is binary for the number 1627. The colors I have chosen is blue for binary, and purple for decimal number (the numbers we humans count with). Reading binary is easy! We have to step though each digit at a time, starting right and move towards left until all bits have been processed. For each step (digit position) we take, we must add a number to our final result. The final result will be in decimal form, and starts at 0 when we begin translating: The first digit (to the very right) in the binary number is worth exactly 1 decimal. If that digit is 1, then we must add 1 to the final result. If it is 0, then we will skip it. Then we move to the next digit to the left of the previous one. The second digit in the binary number is worth exactly (1 + 1) decimal (which is 2 decimal). If that digit is 1, then we must add 2 to the final result. If it is 0, then we will skip it. Then we move to the next digit to the left of the previous one. The third digit in the binary number is worth exactly (2 + 2) decimal (which is 4 decimal). If that digit is 1, then we must add 4 to the final result. If it is 0, then we will skip it. Then we move to the next digit to the left of the previous one. The fourth digit in the binary number is worth exactly (4 + 4) decimal (which is 8 decimal). If that digit is 1, then we must add 8 to the final result. If it is 0, then we will skip it. Then we move to the next digit to the left of the previous one. Have you notice a pattern? Each digit to the left of the current one's position is worth 2 times as much! That's because binary is base-2. In our decimal system, which is base-10, each digit to the left is worth 10 times that of the current digit's position. So to read the value 11001011011, we have to go through each digit's position and add how much they are worth, but only if the digit is 1, and not when it is 0! We begin with the final result being 0: First digit is 1, so the result is 1... Second digit is 1, so 2 is added to the result making the result total 3 so far... Third digit is 0, so skip (else you would have added 4 to the result)... Fourth digit is 1, so 8 is added to the result making the result total 11 so far... Fifth digit is 1, so 16 is added to the result making the result total 27 so far... And next digit is 0 so skip (else you would have added 32 to the result)... And next digit is 1, so add 64 to the result making the total 91 so far... And next digit is 0, so skip (else + 128)... And next digit is 0, so skip (else + 256)... And next digit is 1, so add 512 to the result, total 603... And the last digit is 1, so add 1024, and the final total result is............................... 1627. Adding two binary numbers together is done in using the same rules as adding decimal numbers, (by hand) easiest done with the columnar addition approach. Remember that carrying over to the next digit's column is done when an overflow occurs, such as 1 + 1 or (1 carry) + 1 + 1, just similar to how decimal addition works, 9 + 1 or (1 carry, which is worth 10) + 9 + 1. So if you didn't get that last part, it probably doesn't matter as you might be using a different format. The rules of the math is the same though! Let's do an example. Let's add the number 2 and 1 together, so that the sum is 3. That is easy since you don't need columnar addition... However, in binary, those numbers are 10 and 1 and 11 respectively. So we should/can use columnar addition: 10 + 1 ___ 11 First column, 0 and 1 is added to make 1. In the second column, 1 is added to nothing, or 0 if you may, and the final sum is 11. Let's do another example: 101101 + 10010 _______ 111111 Pretty straight forward. But the numbers here are quite interesting. Because we are using binary instead of decimal, we don't need to use any carry! But the binary number 101101 is the decimal number 45, the binary value 10010 is the decimal number 18, and the binary number 111111 is the decimal number 63, a carry is required when doing this calculation in decimal form: (1) <- Carry __ 45 +18 ___ 63 Carrying is done in the same way with binary numbers: (1) __ 1 + 1 ___ 10 First column, 1 and 1 is added to make 10, but since that number can be stored as a single digit, the digit 1 is carried over to the next column to be added next. In the second column, 1 (the carry) is added to nothing, or 0 if you may, and the final sum is 10. Of course, there is the case where we must add 1 and 1, as well as a carry (1), and the sum would then be 11. Then 1 is stored in the column, and the other 1 is carried over to the next: (11) ____ 11 + 11 ____ 110 And that concludes addition of binary numbers. Next up is subtraction, however, it is not as you may think. See you next time!

The deficit is growing, the government isn't getting enough profit to fund things. What should we do Mr Trump? "HURR DURR I'M GONNA LOWER TAXES EVEN MORE HURR DURR." The ultra rich, the corporations, they are the only ones who benefit from Trump's tax cuts. The rest of us can get fucked. Half of our last spending bill was dedicated to our bloated and corrupt military. Instead of cutting that a tad, let's make the problem worse. GENIUS.

Hey all you people! As a fast food connoisseur... I figured I'd make my OWN fast food tier list! I'm gonna show you the tier list I made, and break each restaurant down. Just letting you know, this is just my opinion, and if your favorite fast food restaurant isn't on here, that doesn't mean it's not great, I just probably never ate there, or I didn't eat there enough times to formulate an opinion. With that said, let's do it!! I'll go through each restaurant, from worst to best. F-Tier: -Raising Cane's: I've eaten here a few times, and... it's not very good. Their chicken and fries are mediocre at best, and the only thing that's good is their soda. (But to be fair, how do you screw that up?) -Cici's Pizza: Also not so good... Their pizza is pretty average, and their desserts are pretty bad... I just haven't had much good experiences here. D-Tier: Arby's: In all honesty, Arby's isn't TERRIBLE... but it's still pretty subpar... Their curly fries are good, though... but their sandwiches? Eh... Domino's: Overall kinda mediocre. Their crust is subpar, their sauce is... okay... and so is their cheese and toppings. Their desserts are decent, at least. AND they had a pretty amusing mascot during the 80s! I wish I remembered that when I was making this tier list, because that would've moved it up to C tier, but oh well. C-Tier: KFC: KFC is okay. Their chicken and biscuits are... alright. But that's about it. Their cookies are pretty good, though. Pizza Hut: Another okay restaurant. Their pizza is just... meh, but their desserts are pretty good. They also serve fries, which is kinda neat. Never tried them, though. Papa John's: Pretty much everything I said about Pizza Hut applies here, except their pizza is slightly better. Subway: I feel like I shoud've ranked this a bit higher, but I digress. Their sandwiches are honestly pretty good in my opinion, and their options are probably MILES healthier than most other restaurants listed here, but... their options are pretty limited, so... whatever. Popeye's: This place is pretty similar to KFC, but their fried chicken is a little better IMO. Their seasoned fries are pretty good, though. Chick-Fil-A: At last, the king of the C-tiers... In all honesty, I kinda like Chick-Fil-A, and as far as I'm aware, they're the most popular fast food joint in the US, or at least the south. I think Chick-Fil-A's breakfast options are REALLY good, but their lunch options are kinda meh. Not bad by any means, but... nothing special. Oh well. Can't win 'em all! B-Tier: Braum's: I like this place, but I still think there are better options for burgers or ice cream. Their burgers are pretty good, and their fries aren't bad, either. Their ice cream is REALLY good, and their Lava Cake Sundaes are to DIE for! If you ever want a good sundae... Braum's can hook you up with a Lava Cake Sundae. Tell them I sent ya. Thank me later. Sonic: Another place I like. Their burgers, fries, chicken, and chicken sandwiches are all pretty good, and their slushies and shakes are good, too! The only thing that's really holding this place back is their slow as molasses service, and it's a little pricey. Still pretty good, though. Burger King: I like me some Burger King. Honestly, most burger joints are gonna be high tier, because I LOVE burgers. I haven't eaten here in a while, though, so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but their burgers are VERY good IMO, and their fries are also pretty solid. I haven't really had much here, though, as I've only ordered hamburgers here. But I saw that their getting more options, so that's good. Jack in the Box: I love this place! I've only eaten a few times, but it was overall pretty good. Their burgers and fries are nice, they have a lot of options, and I like the look and design of their restaurants. The only thing that's holding this place back is their lack of locations. There isn't a SINGLE ONE in Arkansas, my home state. But they DO have one in Tulsa, which is only an hour drive away from where I live. A-Tier: Little Caesar's: Now we're getting into the REALLY good stuff. This is easily my favorite pizza joint. Their pizza's really good, and so is their crazy bread. And it's pretty cheap, too! If you ever need fast, good, affordable pizza, Little Caesar's can hook you up. I just wish they had dessert options... Five Guys: A really good burger joint. Their burgers are REALLY good, and their fries are also pretty nice! Last time I checked, they had a lot of soda options, too. Only things keeping it from being the creme de la creme are that I don't think they have any dessert options, and their food is kinda pricey. Don't count me on that, though. Whataburger: What a burger is right! I love this place! (I actually ate my birthday lunch here, lol) Their burgers and fries are REALLY good, and they have a bit more drink options than the average fast food joint. They also have some variety, as they also serve tacos and chicken sandwiches. I just wish they had more dessert options... Taco Bell: One of my personal favorites. Their tacos, burritos, nachos, and quesadillas are all SO good! Not to mention the fact that they have some exclusive Mountain Dew drinks here, so that makes them stand out a lot more. (Even though I'm not a big Mountain Dew guy) The only things that could make it better is if the food was a bit cheaper and they had more dessert options. (I know I've been saying that a lot, but sometimes I want some dessert with my food, y'know?! ) Wendy's: Again, another one of my favorites. Their burgers are pretty good, they have a LOT of drink options, and they have the classic frosties. I was originally gonna put this in B-Tier, (Same with Whataburger, but I moved Whataburger up a tier because their burgers and fries are REALLY good.) because their fries aren't perfect, but I had to put it up a tier because of the whole "Waifu Wendy's" ordeal 2 and a half years ago. How could I not? That was seriously one of the best things I've seen in my life! S-Tier: McDonald's: Hoo, boy... I'm not gonna make a lot of friends with this pick... But yeah, McDonald's is S-tier. McDonald's burgers and fries are pretty dang good, they've had a LOT of options over the years, their service is quick and reliable, AND their food is cheap! Pretty much everything you could ask for is all here at the Golden Arches. The only problem is that their mascot is the Joker. (Let's be honest, Ronald McDonald is secretly the Joker. ) And... that's all she wrote! What do you think? What's your favorite fast food places? Lemme know!

Lately I've been flying the Piper Cherokee on the sim, as I've also been training on it in real life to meet the complex aircraft requirements for the commercial pilot license. Luckily was able to find a good free model online. Did a couple of instrument approaches at College Station, then Hunting...ton... or was it Huntingville? Lastly going towards Galveston to see some of the beautiful, exotic beaches (ah hah hah). Enroute. Final approach... weather is currently pretty hazy/foggy in Galveston, so the weather downloaded gives me just that.

So after overcoming a fairly serious thumb injury and making the life-changing decision to quit my last job, I finally finished Rarity's head (and by finally finished I mean the head's been finished for a week, I've just been dealing with her mane up until last night). Long synthetic hair is a nightmare to deal with. I spent way too long trying to get her mane the way it is in the show, and I just couldn't get it right. No matter what I tried I couldn't get the hair to make one large curl, so in the end I just took a regular curling iron and went at it. I'll have to brush and re-curl it before every use (you can see how messy it got after just one day), so that'll be mildly annoying, but not too bad since it only takes about half an hour. Even though I'm still disappointed I couldn't get it how I want, I still think it looks okay. Moving on from her mane, while the head does have some other problems, I'm just happy at how much I improved compared to my last head (which I will not show). I still have problems with mouths, but I did a hell of a lot better this time around. There are also visible gaps in the edges of the eyes where the plastic meets the foam, but I think I can find a way around that next time. And I also want to switch to 3D printing once I get enough money, which would eliminate that problem all together. And, of course, nearly everything is magnetic. Her swappable eyelids for different expressions, her mane (both front and rear sections), and even her horn are removable. I would have done her ears as well (for transportation purposes), but the strength of magnet needed to hold them on properly through the foam and fur would make the head way too heavy. Not to mention they're $40 a pair, and I'd need at least four magnets per ear for that. And they're not pictured, but I have a pair of removable 40x20mm fans hooked up to a 3000 mAh battery the size of a credit card and width of a smartphone (no, I'm not exaggerating. It's tiny and weighs next to nothing). Everything fits inside the head and the battery can last for almost ten hours, so I think that it's much preferable over my last setup that had the wires for all six fans in the suit running to one battery bank. Sure, that one may have enough capacity to run every fan for 24 hours, but that's overkill, and it's rather inconvenient to have wires running all over the inside of the suit. Here are some pictures. Since the eyes are so massive, vision is about as good as it gets in a fursuit. That also helps ventilation along, which is also really good, given that there's two 40mm fans in the head - one that draws fresh air in through the mouth, and another that exhausts hot hair out in front of the ear (the vent is hidden by her mane. It's very difficult to see, but it still draws a lot of the heat from inside the head). Overall I'm happy with the results, given my experience level. I've definitely improved a lot since my last head, and that's good enough for me. Now on to the body suit. I worked on that all day today, and let me tell you ponysuits are so much more complicated than fursuits, even digisuits. The legs aren't too difficult, but you have to pad the arms if you want the suit to look good, and that's a lot harder than it sounds. Me wanting to add dual 80mm fans to each arm doesn't make it any easier. But still, I think I've got some good progress going, so we'll see how it turns out in the end.

I finally finished, and I'm fairly proud of the final product. There are definitely a few things that I now see I could have done better, but I'm still happy with it. EDIT: Here's the new pictures. It's definitely a lot easier to make sure the camera is focused when there's actually a person behind it. So anyway, this was a lot more difficult to make than it should have been. There are next to no ponysuit tutorials online, and the ones I could find looked terrible, were extremely vague, or both. In most cases, both. A good chunk of this suit was made through a lot of experimentation because of that, and now I know what to do and what to change next time. Let's start with a list of features and stuff, cause I don't feel like writing a bunch right now. -two sets of magnetic eyelids -magnetic mane (separated into front and rear pieces) -magnetic horn -magnetic cutie mark -the tail is replaceable since it's just attached to a belt and pulled through a hole in the bodysuit -swappable indoor and outdoor hooves -hidden zipper down the front of the suit -hidden zippers for each hand -removable Poly-fil stuffing in both arms and legs -two 40mm fans in the head plugged into a 3,000mAh battery that can power them for close to eight hours So yeah, that's pretty much it. Since everything's removable I could easily use the bodysuit and head as a base for any white pony I want, provided they have blue eyes (like my ponysona). I feel like there's a bunch of other stuff I could say, but I just can't think of anything else I want to say (which is weird), so I think I'll just leave it here.

So I recently started crocheting. I have been meanig to for over a year with a basic plastic hook and yarn ready to go, but I never got around to it. After seeing multiple baby yoda crocheted dolls online I thought I would give it a try. To be clear this is not the first thing I have crocheted and this is not my own pattern (I am using this pattern). I may post some pictures of the first plushes which I made, two narwhals and a whale. Before even starting these I made 25 100 chain stitches to get used to tension and hook method. So leading up to this point I have done quite a bit of crochet. However, this is my first proper crochet plush, the whales were basically spheres with eyes, so I am having a great time 'building' (crocheting parts and stitching them together) him. At the moment he looks a bit like and alien but hopefully he will slowly start to resemble the real thing. PS. This is an example of a seperate blog thread using the tag: Yoda Project

Quick introduction, this type of blog (Weekly) will hopefully be completed at the end of every week allowing me to discuss anything thoughts or events that have occured throughout the week. They will quite long and I don't expect anyone to read them in full but there will be a summary/conclusion at the end for anyone wanting just the answer. So over the last week I had and got over a cold, so nothing major. The interesting thing I thought about was the impact even a small cold can have on schedules and work effort. In fact I would say that a small cold is probably worse mentally in this respect than a more serious illness. However, regardless of the severity of the illness the issue still occurs, at least for me. The major issue is that if you have deadlines or projects which span weeks, or possible months, there is no way to accomodate unexpected illnesses (they are unexpected). This means that when an illness does strike you either power through the tasks you set until you reach a break point and try and rapidly recover. Of course, if the illness is severe enough you completely scrap the schedule and deal with the repercusion effectively. But, in this last week I went with the former method: attending school, clubs and work shifts. So over this weekend I have been going throught the rapid recovery stage, though I have been slowly improving over the week. The issue now is that though I have completed a lot of work I am not productive. This may sound odd, how can I be unproductive if I have completed work? The issue is not how much I have completed but more how I have gone about it and how I have used my relaxation time. In my case most of the work has been done out of necessity without much focus or learning, basically ticking a done box, the part I was annoyed with until yesterday was that my relaxation time had been completed filled with youtube. Now I am all for youtube, just in moderation, so given that all my time had (in my view) been lost I was quite miffed. And this is why I say a milder cold is worse. The issue is that with a mild cold you are able to complete work and activities, and more often than not your brain is still operating at the full capacity it's your body that is a bit lacking. This means that you (or maybe just I) feel that you are not working or doing as much as you could be doing. Or when you do decide to relax or take a break more frequently than you normally would (because you are tired) you feel you are wasting time. In essence, your brain hasn't given up on the previous schedule and work effort which your body just can't cope with. In the case of a severe illness your brain will either also be taken down or will realise the supidity in continuing as you did. So how to deal with this (hopefull uncommon) issue? Importantly, it is not a major issue, or possibly not even an issue for most people, but personally it is. I think in general you need to understand the work load your body can take, and also what activities your body can regenerate with (eg. reading, playing music, crocheting, etc.). For example, I know that I can have bursts of high intensity, focused work intermixed between low intensity working, however if I complete quite a few burst over a fortnight I will need a day of relaxation. I also know watching media, reading, playing music and crocheting do not take any toll on me. Using this information I can then set up a rough schedule, more of a mental note: Every 2 weeks do not do any work on Saturday (This is something I should but do not really follow). But also that instead of watching hours of youtube or netflix I can play some music or crochet in between working sessions. The importance of reading, playing music, crocheting, or any activity you actually have to do, is that you are aware that you are doing something, you realise you are turning the 50th page, playing the piece for the 10th time or reaching the 18 round, so you have a constant check to say get back to work. It's also the same thing over and over, no new videos designed to draw you in. Overall you feel more productive and get more work done (This is why my friends at school wonder how I make things and still get work done). This productivity is what I lost during my illness. So back to the illness problem. These small tasks become strenuous to an ill body so they are no longer relaxing. So I revert to youtube watching, something unproductive which I can get sucked into. So they key is to find something almost mindless which I can't get sucked into. What I have thought of is just watching the world go by (I live on a fairly busy street so I can watch people go about their day) whilst also listening to music which I do whilst I work anyway. This gives my body and mind rest time without being dragged into any addictive software. You could also get a tea or a coffee or something to eat. Just enjoy the moment, something we should all do more and possibly a topic for a different blog thread. Importantly, you need to cut yourself some slack when dealing with a cold. Where possible try and take a premptive day off, stitch in time saves nine and all that, because my cold definitely got worse on Wednesday when I should have stayed home. I possible could be cold free by Friday, but I still have the reminants now, anyway. Summary Deliberately plan into your schedule, or as mental notes, rest days as frequently as you personally need them. During these days it is important to completely forget about work and only focus on things you want to do in the moment don't plan anything (maybe meet ups with friends or movies, lazy activities basically). This means if a cold strikes you have these buffers to help out, but try and take a break as soon as possible to prevent further problems you can then shift your scheduled breaks to get back into the flow. Find productive activities which you can do without much (if any) effort, to complete between working sessions. Something that you actually have to physically do so that you have the constant reminder to get back to work. It should be fairly repetitive or samey so that your impulsive part of the brain gets bored after a while and wants to try something new, use this to get back into work Finally cut yourself slack during and after a cold, find really mindless activities to really relax with, and understand that your body was preoccupied with trying to keep you alive and not with some arbitrary mathemathics homework. Stay healthy

Simple. As you may know, the mythology behind the kirin is diverse. Each of the ancient East Asian countries believed in a different interpretation of them. But each of them had something n common: they were all chimeric ungulate creatures, namely deer or horse, with draconic characteristics. They were regarded as high stemmed creatures, but others go beyond to outright divine I call them as such due to the latter, but also as a reference to the divine dragons from Fire Emblem. Who are recurring benevolent (though there have been examples of antagonistic recently) species. yeah, I know the kirins in FIM displayed characteristic of other ungulates. But let’s be clear, they mainly look like ponies

School has really been kicking my ass recently along with some other personal things so sorry about that to those who actually have read m blog. I don't even know why I still bother to write these anymore because it's not like they're really interesting or anything. Wellp. I'm here again. Still a major brony. Actually, speaking of being a brony... I decided I didn't want it to be a secret anymore. Why should I be ashamed of my crazy love for little ponies that talk?! People already judge for so much other stuff why should one more thing matter.? Anybody have any good ways to just put it out there?!

The Tale of Renegade, How Eris Found Him, and His (Dis)Enlightenment To Her Word There was once a young man named Renegade, and he had been facing problems his entire life. These problems, in spite of what they'd do to most people, generally didn't affect him. Renegade was born bullheaded and fiery, and in spite of the obstacles that befell him, he soldiered on. And yet, he was unhappy. Not greyfaced, just...unhappy. And he didn't know why. That was, until She came to him one day in his dreams. Lady Eris had watched over Renegade his entire life just as she had with all of her little bastards (and she means this as a term of endearment), even if he didn't know it yet. She came to him in a familiar guise, one he had seen in a cartoon as a child, and this pleased him very much. "Hello, Renegade." Eris said, holding a jazz cigarette wrapped in gold flake in one hand and a bunless hot dog with the works in the other. "It's so nice to finally meet you again. Hot dog? Smoke?" Renegade stared at her, before taking the golden jazz cigarette and lighting it. Most people would have been freaking out and asking questions, but not Renegade. He was just going with the flow. "So, why am I here? Or rather, why are you here?" "I'm here," Eris stated plainly to him through a mouthful of prime Esskay frankfurter. "to ask you a simple question. Are you unhappy, my child?" "I am." Renegade answered with honesty. "2019 has not been a good year for me, and I just want to find something fulfilling. I have been for years." "Then come with me, and I shall enlighten you." Renegade took his hand into Goddess', and she took him back to her place. There, they drank the finest Kallisti Golden Apple Ale, ate the finest hot dogs, and when all was said and done, she taught him the Eristic, Aneristic, and Sacred Chao Principles. And so, Renegade was enlightened. -----fnord----- What Actually Happened To say that life has not been kind to me would be the understatement of the late 20th century. I was born prematurely and nearly died from the complications of my birth (my placenta was damaged while I was in the womb, and to prevent me from suffocating they had to give my mother, only 19 at the time and having already had my brother not three years before, a Caesarian section), have had cerebral palsy my entire life, didn't have a great childhood thanks primarily to my biological father (who struggled with hereditary bipolar disorder that eventually led to a suicide by hanging last year), struggled in school due to undiagnosed Aspergers (I wasn't diagnosed until the eighth grade) and a generally apathetic and sometimes abusive educational system, and just generally having no social skills to speak of. So to say I had a crisis of faith is putting it lightly. I didn't discover Discordianism until at the very least a couple of years ago, and it took me a good long while to fully understand and embrace it as my faith (thanks to @Randimaxis). My reasons for embracing Eris as my Goddess are twofold: said not easy life as well as a general dissatisfaction with organized religion as a whole. I felt that, while a good system on some level, the Abrahamic religions have slowly been corrupted over the centuries into the complete opposite of what was originally intended. It had become greyfaced. Thus, I felt that Discordianism, a truly "back to basics" kind of faith as it were, was perfect for me. And honestly, I feel all the happier because of it. -----fnord----- What Actually IS Discordianism? The short answer is: whatever you want it to be. As for the long answer? As a "disorganized religion", Discordianism bases its entire system entirely on open interpretation. Having very few concrete rules to speak of, what the Erisian religion is or even means depends entirely upon the person you ask. Some, like myself, treat it as a serious (to a point) neopagan religion that's somewhere between Wicca, Thelema, and Zen Buddhism with humor. Others treat it as a philosophy like Taoism, being completely agnostic and viewing Eris in a more metaphoric light. Others just treat it as a joke. All of these and more are completely valid and diverse, and none of them are entirely wrong. As long as you laugh, Eris doesn't care what you believe in. All she wants out of you is to playfully upset the status quo and not much else. -----fnord----- CONSPIRACY! Now we get into territory that is both uncomfortable and controversial for some: conspiracy theories. Unfortunately, conspiracies are inherent to Discordianism, considering both Greg Hill and Kerry Thornley were on some level connected to the John F. Kennedy assassination. A copy of the first edition of the Principia belonging to Greg was found in possession of the Warren Commission, and Kerry Thornley knew Lee Harvey Oswald personally since both were in the same Marines unit. Thornley eventually devolved into paranoid schizophrenia later in life, convinced he'd been brainwashed by the CIA as a backup sleeper agent to kill Kennedy. As for myself, I feel I should let a post (slightly expanded here) I made on a topic relating to conspiracy theories speak for itself: Now that we have the elephants out of the room, let's discuss the basic idea of conspiracy theories in Discordianism, and what they mean. If you recall, the concept of the Aneristic Principle is that of "order", represented by conspiracies such as the Bavarian Illuminati. The Eristic Principle is that of "disorder", represented by the Discordian Society. If we are to take the tenet that both are mere illusions literally, then the metaphor becomes clear - the establishment cannot survive without a little chaos to shake things up, and the people that demand changes for the betterment of society cannot survive without an establishment to change. So, look a little bit closer the next time you see something just a bit off. It might just be a conspiracy in need of infiltrating and mischief making. Next time, I get into some more...esoteric beliefs.

OK, so this is not what was promised at the end of the last entry, but I figured I'd outline the relationship between Discordianism and morality before I forget. Morality is...a tricky thing to define, especially in the context of the Goddess. Even organized religion has a difficult time trying to define what, exactly, morality is (hence the concept of "sin" and an eternity of eternal torment; it creates a sense of fear and distrust, and the rather unfortunate implication of God trying to impose His will-and therefore Order and "control"-onto a species that is defined by free will-and therefore Disorder and "freedom"). However, I feel the Wiccans hit the nail on the head: An’ ye harm none, do what ye will. What that means is, in Modern English, "Do what you want, as long as no one is harmed". Just as was stated in the Introduction with "Nothing is true, everything is permitted", that doesn't mean you should do literally whatever you want and consequences can go eat a big fat hot dog. The Wiccans also came up with a Law of Threefold Returns to discourage this kind of thinking: it operates under the standby that for every action, there is a greater and opposite reaction, sort of like karma; do good things and good things will happen to you. Do bad things and Lady Eris will bitchslap the shit out of you.I -----fnord----- Just like the Judeo-Christians, we Discordians base our code of conduct and ethics on a set of ten (Paradoxical) Commandments, outlined in The Book of Eris in a section by one Dr. Ken M. Keith. The Paradoxical Commandments are as follows: There are also four cardinal virtues discussed a few pages later: Together, these virtues grant oneself the Five Blessings of Eris: health, wealth, happiness, longevity, and peace. And moreover, these five points (the Rede, the Law of Threefold Returns, the Paradoxical Commandments, the Four Virtues, and Five Blessings) form a collective ethical standard I like to call the 23 Pragmas of Eris. Pragmas are one of the five kinds of "-ma"; we'll get into further detail about those later. But anyways, now that we know what the Pragmas are, what happens when they aren't followed? Or rather, when others don't follow them? For that, we'll need to discuss the tale that Goddess Eris is most well known for: the Original Snub. -----fnord----- So, I'm pretty sure all of us know this story. Guy named Peleus meets sea-nymph named Thetis, and they decide to get hitched. In celebration, Zeus decides to throw a party on Mount Olympus (called Limbo Peak by us Discordians), and invites all the gods and goddesses. All except for Eris. Now, as we know, Eris isn't a bad sort; she just loves playing pranks and upsetting the status quo in other ways. To Zeus, though, this was all the justification needed to not invite her. But, or course, this was just because the Olympians were petty, omnipotent children who just couldn't handle their precious little bubble being popped by anyone or anything. Nevertheless, Eris decided to go anyway in spite of being snubbed, out of the kindness of her heart. She wasn't going to stay too long anyway; she'd give Thetis her gift (a golden apple inscribed with the words "to the Prettiest One") then leave. Unfortunately, when Eris got there, she was confronted by Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite, who all began to taunt and leer at her gift. Having no other choice, Eris threw the apple towards the banquet, where the three goddesses dove for it, arguing amongst each other as to who was the prettiest. Eris, nonetheless delighted with the chaos she had just caused, took her leave and stole the hot dogs cooked by Hestia to partake in a feast of her own. Unfortunately, Hestia had steamed the buns and made them soggy. And so, that is why Eris forbids hot dog buns except on Fridays. -----fnord----- So, what have we learned today about morality? That, like every other faith, Discordianism has its standards and codes of conduct that should be easy to get with enough common sense. But with the story of the Original Snub, we also learn that karma is an absolute bitch. Anyways, next time, we're actually gonna get to all the stuff I promised last time. And remember, Goddess loves you!

I have countless amazing memories from high school marching band, and I figured I'd put them here so that I can always remember them, and maybe a few people will also get a laugh out of some of them. I guess I'll start with freshman year. I'll have to omit a few memories. As much as I'd like to share everything, we have three traditions that only band members are supposed to know about. I know it's the internet and nobody cares, but it's important to me to keep them a secret. Bus traditions Whenever we were on a bus ride somewhere, for the first and last few minutes of the ride the highest leader on the bus (usually a fleet) would say "fall in, face forward," and we'd sit still in our seats facing forward, and we weren't supposed to make noise. We did this because most accidents occur within the first and last few minutes of trips, and this allowed the bus driver to focus on the road, rather than the fifty loud teenagers behind them. We'd also say "thank you" to the bus driver whenever we got off. This was a tradition stemming back all the way to 1969 when the band was formed, and it's something we never lost. The terrifying drive to Camp Greenbrier This was where we had our band camp. We took tour busses (three my freshman year, I think), and I'm almost certain the road there wasn't meant for vehicles that large. The roads were barely wide enough for two regular sized cars to scrape past each other, and there was a fairly sharp drop on one side of the road. Every time we passed another car heading in the opposite direction I'd be terrified we'd slip off the edge of the road. The banana peel During lunch one day, our bronze fleet (4th in command) turned around in his chair, stared right at me, and shoved a banana peel into his mouth. We became fairly close that year. He was a pretty chill guy. My first parent show (I cried) Every year on Friday evening we'd perform what we had done of the show for our parents. It was a pretty long drive and only a couple hundred people would normally show up at Greenbrier (more showed up my senior year when we switched camps), but it was still really cool, and it was my first real performance in marching band. Up until that point I had been considering quitting band after that year, but once the show was over, I realized just how incredible it was that so many people could come together to make something so amazing. Then all the seniors started crying because it was their last year. I guess it was contagious because I started crying, too. Though, in my defense, I had made quite a few close friends that were seniors, and my sister was also a senior that year. The start of a new tradition Every year on Saturday before we left camp, the seniors would all hold hands and walk down the practice field together. Normally non-seniors weren't allowed to watch, but they made exceptions for people taking pictures. My sister asked me to take some, so they allowed me to show up. This year, however, one of the percussion players (his name escapes my memory, but he was one of the last people I would have expected to do something like this) said something along the lines of "Guys, we're not close enough," and they all put their arms around each other's shoulders instead of just holding hands. More crying followed. Guard was terrible, but everything else was great At competitions, we'd consistently get 5th, 4th, or even 3rd place in every category except for color guard. They were always in the bottom 5 places. On the opposite end, we got within top 3 for drum majors that year at every competition. A bittersweet memory To this day I'm not sure if I regret this decision or not. Probably yes, but whatever. This was the year I asked my ex-girlfriend out. I remember specifically it was a Friday night after a football game, early on in the season. I was terrified, but I had more guts back then, so I managed to do it. We were friends for a couple of months, then we started officially dating. I can't deny I was happier then than I ever had been before, so maybe it was worth it. Maybe. That's everything interesting I can remember from freshman year. Maybe it wasn't all that interesting, or maybe I just can't remember much from that long ago. And there's always the possibility that Senior year was just so exciting that every other year seems dull by comparison. Who knows. More to come.

As some of you may know, some time ago I claimed that I would be going through the MLP:FIM series, installment after installment giving each of them a review, going into depth with each's strengths and weaknesses and just giving my overall impressions, thoughts and opinions on the different features that each season brought to the table. I was really excited going into it and, I really wanted to contribute something something into a fan-base which, I'm sure has so many other people who are older than me and more experienced than me when it comes to the show. I haven't been a brony for nearly as long as many other people have been and combined with my love, enjoyment and enthusiasm for reviewing, debating and animation in general, it was an endeavor far too tempting not to take up. However, off the bat, I realized that I'd perhaps bitten off more than I could chew. With 26 episodes in a Season, 7 of those seasons as well as all of the Equestria Girls movies and more, it was all just too much. I posted my Season 1 overview about 7 months ago and, I'm quite proud of it. I expressed what I wanted to and, for my first attempt at a professional review, it came out just like I wanted to. However, as time moved forwards and I started preparing my review for Season 2, which arguably as the fan-favorite season and one of the reviews that I was particularly looking forwards to, I became aware of a few...problems. And, the more and more that I pondered about these problems, more problems started coming to my attention. Too many problems for me to just go ahead and release the review regardless and, I started to realize that, perhaps my Season 1 review wasn't THAT good after all. I still have some affinity for it but...I don't know. And above all of the others, 2 problems in particular continued to irk me the more that I thought about them. If you'll allow me to explain my primary concerns about continuing, the 1st issue that was a problem for the 1st review and, was only ever going to become more of an issue as time went on was time management. That review was extremely lengthy to watch and analyse every single episode of every single season, complete the initial draft on paper and then to copy that out digitally, it just took too much time. Overall, that review took, approximately 12 hours to complete and, it was only going to get worse from there. Look, I'm in my final year of Secondary School, my GCSE's are coming up rapidly and my entire future is riding upon them. I despise school work as much as any rational human teenager, but in these late stages I really do have to dedicate almost all of my spare time to revision, homework and making a secure future for myself. It's not optimal but, sadly it can't be helped right now. My 2nd issue was that, maybe it's my age, maybe it's just my personality but I came to discern that many of my opinions on the series in the first place came from a multitude of sources (reviewers, advice, the general opinion of of the episode among the fan-base) were fundamentally flawed. Many of my impressions on Season 1, for example, came from an experienced critic of animated shows, a man known as John Enter, known to the majority through his YouTube channel TheMysteriousMr. Enter (I believe that it's just on word ), a person who's opinion I had the utmost of faith in. But after a significant blunder of judgement on his behalf and the increase of age and knowledge opened me up to the fact that his opinion was not fact and was rather seriously flawed. And, the more that I thought about it, the more that I perceived that this same train of thought could really apply to any source of "wisdom" or "professional"input. The purpose of these reviews in the first place was to reflect ME and MY opinions about the series and, merely repeating what others said about the same entity added nothing to the fan-base that wasn't already there. I needed to become to sure about my own opinion and to realize that it was just as valid as anyone else's and that my lack of experience was irrelevant in the long run. I could do just as well as anybody else in this area. I need to return to these reviews with more confidence in myself, that's the bottom line. And, with these problems continuing to persevere, I had 3 options. To continue the series at a steady pace and for it to be a constant obstruction to my time and school work and to be completely unsure about it at the same time, ultimately possibly becoming a risk not worth taking, to half-arse it and to limp through each and every installment, making continuous delays and false promises to you all in the process, which is something that I really didn't want to do as I want these reviews to be something that I look back on with fond memories and satisfaction in the future. Or, lastly I could endeavor in a complete overhaul of the series, which is what I've ultimately decided to do. So, what does that mean in terms of the near future of the series? Well, on the off chance that you enjoyed the little content that I have already posted, and want to see more of it, don't worry. I DO plan on not only continuing with the series, but also, perhaps re-doing and improving the installments that I have already put out there. However, it will not happen for some time, certainly not until I finish my GCSE's, which, hopefully will be in July. Even then, I can only give a general idea, time-wise. I'm not going to make any promises that I cannot keep, so all that I'm going to say is that it WILL happen some day, hopefully not too far from now. I sincerely apologize for letting down anybody who wanted to see this series continue in the present and for not giving any sort of explanation until this moment, I was just confused and unsure about what to do, this is new for me and I want it so desperately to be of a quality that I can be proud of. As always, appreciation for your patience and concern, this is Rarity the Supreme, and have a great night. One last thing actually. Just something that I want to make clear before coming back, is the schedule that I'm going I'm going to follow, just so there are no surprises when they eventually do come into existence. Comprising of every season, movie and more: 1) Season 1 (Yes, I will likely re-do it.) 2) Season 2 (Same story as Season 1) 3) Season 3 (Looking forward to this one.) 4) Equestria Girls (I've said it before, but I will be taking a look at the Equestria Girls series as well.) 5) Season 4 (My favorite season.) 6) Rainbow Rocks 7) Season 5 (The season that I've seen the most of.) 8) Friendship Games 9) Season 6 (Another controversial season.) 10) Legend of Everfree ( Good times with this one.) 11) Season 7 (Just a shame that it won't be new when I get to it.) 12) Equestria Girls Specials (A bit of an anomaly when it comes to the series, but I do plan on reviewing it.) 13) The Movie (The definitive installment, the one that I really want to get to.) 14) Season 8 (Because, let's be honest, by the time I get to this stage it will have definitely have released.) 15-??) Whatever lies beyond this point. (I thought that it was context-appropriate.)
