It seems like a lot of people have trouble with grammar, so I thought I'd share some grammar tips that you might not have known before. 1. Affect vs. Effect -Affect is used as a verb. -Effect is used as a noun. 2. Farther vs. Further -Farther is used for measurable distances. -Further is used for abstract distances you can't measure. 3. Lay vs. Lie -Lay is used when there is an object involved. (Example: I lay the cup on the table.) -Lie is used when there is no object involved. (Example: I lie on the bed.) -Lay is the past tense of Lie (Example: Yesterday, I lay on the bed.) -Laid is the past tense of Lay (Example: Yesterday, I laid the cup on the table.) 4. Ensure vs. Assure -Ensure is used to imply a guarantee that something will happen. -Assure is used to imply the removal of doubt from someone's mind. 5. Who vs. Whom -Who is used as a pronoun for the subject of the sentence. -Whom is used as a pronoun for the object of the sentence. I hope these tips are useful for you guys!

I know that I didn't get a chance to say this but, thank you all so much! After all of the generous support that I've gotten over these past few months, my depression has faded away and in fact I look happier than ever! So anyway, thank you all!

Well this is the forums' second year of existing, and even though I haven't even been here for a full year I feel the need to gush about how awesome this site is and how much it has changed my life. Well for starters, I joined during the summer. I thought I would have an average boring as heck summer, UNTIL THAT FATEFUL DAY!! I was looking on the internet for ideas of how to make a cutie mark for my OC, and I came upon a post in these forums that talked about OC ponies and stuff. I was interested and looked around. I decided to join the site cause what the heck I COULD. Then my life changed. Right from the start I was greeted by plenty of people that made me feel very welcome here, I couldn't have asked for a better first day. I immediately started to get to know the forums and spent everyday getting accquainted with everyone here. Eventually after a month I had plenty of great friends and even uploaded a tour of the Forums video on Youtube to help the newbies here out. Luckily I have found that there are some people that have joined the forums due to that video as they have all added me as their friend. I am very honored that I have contributed in that way to the forums and I hope I can do more in the future. Through all the friendships I have made here, there have been some that have REALLY changed my life. Here are some of the amazing people that made my time here EPIC. @, formerly known as The Paris Swing Box THIS GUY!! He has been my pal since a couple weeks after I joined the forums. He's hilarious and we got along pretty great as friends. He's the person I have the most pages of messages with and I'm glad to have met someone so cool He used to be on literally almost everytime I logged on so we could always chat. Sadly though, due to school and life, of course he's not on as often, and we don't chat as frequently. But I'm still mentioning him for being a great person and overall helping in making my time here interesting. @@Pinkie D Pie, Another great guy I used to talk to frequently, sadly just like Kurt school has been a huge factor in why we no longer chat as frequently. But I feel happy whenever I see he's sent me a message still trying to keep the conversation active. I met him in a roleplay and we just talked. Great friend he is @@Dsanders, MY SPECIAL SOMEPONY AND BESTEST FRIEND FOREVAH!! He's amazing in every way imaginable. Well it's just that I never thought I would EVER get a special somepony or boyfriend irl, and well no boy has ever shown an interest in me. I have had PLENTY of guy friends, but they're just friends, I can casually talk to them about video games and just joke around. But they're into other girls and I never felt bothered by that. Sure I secretly wished that one guy would one day express an interest in me but I didn't let that affect me. Then I found this guy. We talked one day and it just went from there. We've been BFFS since then and he recently asked me to be his special somepony. We have just bonded SO MUCH it was necessary. We have alot in common and the similarities just never seem to end. Even though we live in different countries we stay in contact and keep hoping that one day we can meet irl. I'LL DIE IF THAT EVER HAPPENS!! So final point, he's awesome. And he has changed my life so much he just MUST be recognized here. So these are just the people I have talked to the most and whom have really changed my experience here on the forums and made it more enjoyable If you're a friend of mine and you want a little recognition, ask me for a shout out I'll gladly give it to you. Bottom Line: THANK YOU MLP FORUMS FOR CHANGING MY LIFE AND HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

In case anyone missed the top story, people are trying to prove ghosts exist again. I have to admit, it's pretty convincing. Not really going to take a side as of right now, but if this is fake then someone has way too much time on their hands. Spoiler'd in case some of you might find supernatural stuff unsettling.

So it was two years ago now that the great website we all call home was created. Or well, maybe not all of us call this place home, but some people do like me, and well I do believe it is about time I said happy birthday and thank you to it. So if you will stick with me, I am going to tell a small tale, about how a guy known as Aaron, or more commonly, Pinkie D Pie, came to a website known as MLPforums and had a grand old time, and finally broke there shell and made some friends. So it was a little over a year ago, or more accurately, nearly a year and a half ago, that a guy buy the name of BlogBlogLast all over the internet was reading though an issue of Gameinformer magazine. They mentioned a term known as Brony, a term this kid had never heard of. He laughed at the though of males liking MLP and went along on his happy way. Now fast forward a few months and the kid now needing something to do. So what could he do but research this term known as Brony, and find out more about it. So it was one faithful night in the dark of his room, a few days before school started for after Winter break, that this kid known as BlogBlogLast watched the first episode of MLP:FIM and fell in love. It was months later before he would finish watching the first and second season, and a month after that before he would find a website known as MLPforums and make an account known as Pinkie_D_Pie. When he first joined these forums, he did not go out of his way to make friends. He simply posted in random topics, and looked around at all the bright shiny things he had seen before. You see this kid was quite shy, and the one time he had ever known a home on the internet was on a website known as Roblox.com, there forums, or at least the RP section of that forums. So it was only a few days into this kids days of fourming that this kid found a topic known as the Last Poster Wins thread. He posted there, and posted there. It was during the summer of 2012 that this kid would meet his best friend, thanks to the forums. It was during the summer of 2013 that this kid would meet one of the most epic people here on the forums. He made other friends, but he never really stuck to them or messaged them, which is something he has regretted for a long time. Ehh, I don't know where I'm really getting at now, so I guess this is the end of that story. Basically what I am saying is that if you ever were trying to be my friend and I just sort of ignored you, I'm sorry. Okay, now that that is over, let me go ahead and thank everyone on the forums for being epic. Personally, I love everyone here, but the two people in the story are two people I have to mention. The first is a guy known as @kappa214, or to me as Doom2053. This guy is epic, and that's probably the smallest word I could use to describe him. It didn't take long for him to become like my best friend ever, even though we live so far apart. I know people say you can't have true friends on the internet, but I beg to differ, because he is probably my best friend, ever. So it was during the summer of 2012 that we met, and well, I may not remember the exact way we met, I think it had something to do with RPlaying and Steam, but I may be wrong, but anyways we met and quickly, as least to my knowledge became really good friends. Ehh, I'm going on again, but I just want to say thank you for being a great friend. The second person who I am going to mention is . One of the most epic people on the forums, and another person who I consider to be one of my best friends. We met during a RP. I think she messaged me after I changed my profile pic, and then what do you know, we quickly began a conversation, and soon I had another friend on the forums. Even now, I get so happy whenever I see another message because I know that there is someone to talk to. The other thing is that I never message anybody, like ever, so thank you for messaging me first! There are a ton more people out there that deserve to be mentioned, but so many of them changed there name that I know longer know them. A few things I do need to mention however are two topics, the Last Poster Wins Thread, and the General Chat Thread. The Last Poster Wins thread is my home within a home. It's my favorite place to be on the forums, because I know there are so many awesome people there. So this is just a big hello and thank you to everyone around that part of the forums. The General Chat Thread I did not discover for awhile. Or well I knew about it and posted small posts there from time to time, but never made to many things. It all changed when I really started posting there, and discovered just how epic everyone is there. I don't know who is left to see this, but if we ever talked on the GCT then thank you. Oh and just because, this is what the GCT did to me... *facepalm* Anyways, that is about all I have to say, but let me go ahead and thank everyone on the forums, not just the two I mentioned, but everyone, because all of you are awesome. Anyways, see you around the forums, possible in the Last Poster Wins theard.(Where your never going to beat me!) -Pinkie D Pie(Previously: TGAP Trixie Sparkle, Luna Sparkle, DJ-DASH3, Shadow Stalker, TGAP Babs Seed!) Maybe one of you remember me as one of these!

Theres nothing wrong with you in the same way when soldier says he 'loves' his job that could get him killed of a firefighter who could get burned alive. Some people like living dangerous lives, makes them feel more alive than any other person they see. Thats why people play the game, they want to experience it from a safe distance, they wouldn't be playing them if they experienced any it for real. The fact you know what you did is wrong is good, even if it torments you now. Remembering that you did bad things in itself is not abad thing. If you did forget you might just end up making the same mistakes again. Just keep doing what you're doing now to keep yourself out of that place.

Hey, guys. I haven't updated this in a while, so I'm just going to quickly summarize how I've been. 1. The relationship I'm currently in has been the best one yet, and getting close to the longest one yet, also. 2. I've began cutting again, but not nearly as bad as I used to, for those of you who know about it. 3. School hasn't been very interesting. 4. I almost lost a couple of friends because of a misunderstanding. 5. I got baptized at my current church, which is an amazing church. And that's about it. I can't really talk much about everything else. It's been quite uneventful. Well, good day to everyone out there!

Hey, I have an Ash avatar, and I'm feeling it. Let's do it, baby. And if you haven't seen Evil Dead II, or Evil Dead I or Army of Darkness... ...do that now. -Bruce Campbell almost did all of his own stunts, minus the scene where Ash is thrown down into the fruit cellar (stunt double) and when he is thrown through the car windshield (dummy). -Speaking of which, that specific car (the Oldsmobile) has made a cameo in every one of director Sam Raimi's movies. -Also, the POV shot of the evil entity crashing through the windshield after Ash was achieved by sticking the camera on the end of a pole and ramming it through the car. The movie is frequently mistaken for a remake of the original, but it's intended to be a direct sequel that picks up the exact moment the first one ended. The filmmakers just wanted to add a recap for anyone who hadn't seen the original, but the copyright issues meant they couldn't use footage from the original, and only two actors were available. So, y'know, screw continuity. -The sequence in which the cabin is flooded with blood from the hole in the wall was the last one shot, as it rendered the set unusable afterwards. -The director's brother, Ted Raimi, played the part of Henrietta, the demonic hag that does battle with Ash. Unfortunately for him, the suit used for his scenes did not gel with the 100+ F temperature the movie was shot in. There's actually a few shots in the movie where you can see his sweat, mixed with makeup powder, pouring out of the character. It only got worst when a mishap left the back of the suit torn open. Without the time to fix it, they had to continue shooting, and thus, you can sometimes see Raimi's back when Henrietta flies through the air. He is wearing red underwear. -In the original Evil Dead, Sam Raimi included a torn up poster for The Hills Have Eyes, as a little in-joke towards the film's director (and his friend), Wes Craven, saying Evil Dead was scarier. Craven responded by having the main character in Nightmare on Elm Street watch Evil Dead on TV. The response to that was for Raimi to steal one of Freddy Krueger's claws from the set of Dream Warriors and hang it in the cabin where Ash gets the chainsaw. -Actor Dan Hicks was cast simply because he could remove one of his teeth, which made him look like an authentic redneck. -Stephen King, a fan of the original, helped fund the sequel. -The movie was filmed in the same area and time-frame as Steven Spielberg's The Color Purple. -In real life, director Sam Raimi is squeamish around blood. If you've seen the movie, you know why this is hilarious. -Bruce Campbell is one of the baddest asses ever, but you already knew that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=4vmq_PkV5OQ
