The badges beneath a user's avatar usually denote what their posting rank is. As your post number increases, so does your badge, and while for the most part these are only decorative signs of your posting activity, some badges actually act as benchmarks to access some other sections of the forums:. This handy guide, made by the user Rikifive, should prove useful to get an understanding of how our badge system works: Temporary Badges MLPF Art Contest Winner: Win an MLPF Art Contest! Christmas Donor: Donate to the MLPF MCM Fundraiser! Staff Badges Poniverse Staff Librarian - Fanfic Readers Head Librarian - Golden Oaks Team Leader Stage Pony - Event Coordinators Wonderbolt - Sectional Staff Royal Guard - Moderators Alicorn - Administrators

Are there any exceptions to the no advertising rule? Absolutely. While MLPF does not permit advertising without Admin Approval as a general rule, there are some common sense exceptions for users. All Users We will allow you to place your personal website, social media, discord server, contact details, and media sharing account link in your signature and the appropriate field(s) in your profile, providing the content on the site does not link to content considered inappropriate for MLPF. Octavia's Hall Directing people to off-site art content to promote your art is allowable, provided you are sharing your art in your posts too. Suggesting people check out your videos, DA page, collaborative projects, etc ia okay. Linking directly to a store front, or requests for financial support of any kind are not allowed without Admin approval. Commission Shops It is acceptable to encourage users to commission you for art if you are an approved Commission Artist on MLPF. However, don't be spammy or pushy about it. A little reminder in a status update that you have some slots available, or a comment to those seeking art is something that we encourage. Competing Interests If your project is a Pony Forum, Minecraft Server, or a platform similar to the ones we have created for our community, we reserve the right to disallow advertising.

Like most online communities, MLP Forums is privately owned and operated! Is there censorship? Yes, and we do not hide that. If you are a nuisance or a jerk, and cannot show self-control, chances are we will eventually show you the door. Source: xkcd

Artwork by pridark // Artwork edited by Rikifive Hey, did you know, that you can disable your messenger? If for personal reasons you'd like to avoid receiving messages, we're offering a special service, where we can come to your property and take your mailbox away from you, quite literally! If you'll decide to get rid of it, we'll be notifying others, that you cannot receive any messages if they'd be trying to contact you. Oh and don't worry! We will return your mailbox whenever you'd like to have it back, just say a word and it will be there! I promise! Disabling Messenger You can disable your messenger at the bottom of the inbox. Note, that disabling messenger WILL NOT delete the conversations you have. Everything will still be there if you decide to enable it back. You can disable/enable it whenever you want without losing anything, except the new messages, that will be blocked while having it deactivated. You won't receive any notifications, that someone tried to send you a message while you had the messenger deactivated. Disabling messenger removes it from your userbar: - and whenever someone will try to send you a message, they'll receive an error telling, that you cannot receive any messages at the moment: Note, that you cannot compose, nor view messages while it is deactivated. Enabling Messenger You can enable your messenger back at any time. While the messenger is disabled, a new option, "Messages", is added to your account menu. This option will ask if you want to enable it back: After selecting [ OK ], it will take you to your messenger just like it was before disabling it. No hard feelings, if you decide to get rid of your mailbox, we won't be seeing each other as often afterwards, but I hope we'll still be friends!

The short answer is that, unless you are in the EU, we do not delete or remove accounts. The more detailed answer is that removing accounts would destroy community history, and as a general rule of thumb, outright destroying information is not a good practice to have as your default action for most situations. It is for the same reason that members cannot delete most of their own content. This may seem like a conservative approach, but it is in the community's best interests. As for bans, we're not keen on those either for folks who want to leave. At the end of the day, no matter how dead-set someone may think they are on never returning, the stats show that, more often than not, many people do. Thus, the staff doesn't feel it a productive use of time to ban people when they have their (more often than not) knee-jerk leave decisions, only to receive a Support Ticket from them at some point in the future saying they want to come back, and asking us if we can unban them. Might as well just leave your account be. If you don't come back, you don't. If you do come back, you do. This all said, we feel we've reached a happy medium in that the staff are more than happy to remove posts, blogs or other content of yours that you feel contains any trace of personal information that you wouldn't want visible on the site anymore. Please note, however, this does not mean we will remove all your posts altogether, nor should you expect us to do so upon your request. Removing all your posts and other things is hardly a far jump from removing your account entirely, but posts or blogs containing things like pictures of yourself or artworks, other creative media, anything remotely personal or things of a related nature can be removed. For EU citizens only (GDPR Compliance) If you'd like to request it and are an EU resident, we comply with it as required by law. There'll be a more automatic process in the future, but for now emailing your request to ops@poniverse.net with the email you registered with and confirming your information with our ops team we'll delete your account. For Accounts Never Used. In some cases, we will receive requests from individuals who created an account, yet have never made a post, status update, blog, or modified their profile. For these requests will anonymize your account, effectively deleting it and all associated login information. Again this is for accounts that have never been used. Really though, we don't want anyone to end up leaving. While we're not about to make a blanket generalization for everyone who ever decides to leave, be sure to take a look at this post, and perhaps gain a new perspective on the situation you may currently be facing.

No. The idea of having one or more 'mature' or otherwise NSFW boards has been presented to us numerous times; it has even been discussed internally. While we have nothing against people that enjoy such material, we have no plans or desire to host such content or discussions here. The reasoning behind this is simple enough. Poniverse and all the sites involved within (including this Forum) are designed to be friendly AND mature, and to portray such an atmosphere we need to tone down on any NSFW material. The other issue is that there has always been significant resistance within members of our community, so it would remain a highly controversial idea. We hope you understand the reasoning behind this

Everfree Empire is the "normal" roleplay section. You don't need approval of any sort to post or add characters. This section also encompasses the Advanced Roleplays area. Advanced roleplays require each post to be a minimum of 800 characters. The rest of the Everfree Empire roleplays require 200. As soon as you hit "Muffin" rank (5 posts), you will be able to participate here. Equestrian Empire has stricter requirements, as it is the "canon" roleplay section. It follows all of the Everfree Empire rules, as well as having its own code of additional rules. It allows members to pick up cast characters as their own character, as well as OCs that can interact with the cast of MLP:FIM. This section also has a smaller population of users, allowing the users in that section to become quite close. Equestrian Empire has a character minimum of 300.
