    G5 isn't very good tho.

Depends on what you're looking for with your pony content. Personally, I adore G5, and some of my friends love it even more than FiM.

@Stellar Hunt Hi and welcome! If you're looking for fresh canon pony content, my advice is to check out G5 for yourself and make your own judgment. :) Welcome! We have lots of events here on MLPF like the ongoing World Cup - and every new pony who joins, like you, makes things more active for everyone! If you want an active pony fandom to be part of, the best thing you can do is join our convos and shenanigans! :yay:

One backpack (that I actively use, and is one of my 33 MLP ones)

All this merch you posted is cool but did I read it right that you have thirty-three MLP backpacks? :o

I feel a need to request a photo of the rest of them if you're willing to share. That sounds like an unusual (and cool!) collection!

  3. This is a wonderful little rhythm game! Thanks again for making sure it worked on Firefox. :hug_day:What a nice way to revisit this G4 banger.

I love all the work you put into this, Riki - it's so polished for what it is between this thread, the menu sound effects, multi-device and multi-browser support, and everything!

  4. I did some cleanup of the most obvious duplicate and nonsense genres. Accidentally managed to merge the "Game" and "Unknown" genres together so... whoops. :squee: At least "Game" isn't actually a genre so I'll rename it to "Unknown" once it's done doing the merge (it'll take a while - the site rewrites the tags in all the downloadable files). I'll come back to this thread later.

  5. This is excellent feedback and I'm glad someone cares enough about Pony.fm to have noticed and written it up. Thank you, @Trot Shuffle!

There's an ancient planned task to replace all of Pony.fm's taxonomies (including genres) with a more sophisticated tagging system. The problem is that Pony.fm has lacked an active developer to work on it for a long time so this and other tasks have been sitting on pause until someone who can do more than keep the site going in maintenance mode comes along again.

However! The genres that do exist could certainly do with some cleanup. I'll take a pass through the list, especially all those hip-hop ones. We do have a tool for site admins to merge genres together at least.

  6. To answer the question, no, I can't say that specifically has been considered! It's interesting feedback.

Is this the screen you're referring to?

I'm curious to see a screenshot of what it looks like for you (or hear if you're talking about some other part of the interface) because I comfortably see 12 images per page on my screen (I don't love the white space where 4 more could fit in my screenshot but that's another matter).

  7. Woo! I'm glad this works.

Feel free to tinker with making your own streams to customize a feed of exactly what you want for other kinds of content, too. I believe you can even share your streams with other users. This is probably one of our software's most underrated features and I'm happy we found another use for it!

Maybe this is why IPS got rid of that original notification setting...

For some additional context, @Rikifive posted some fantastic notes on this status update about what the old behaviour used to be, complete with screenshots.

  8. I think I figured this out. There isn't a direct way of doing this but I found a way to do it through the magic of activity streams. I set up two streams: one for your followed users' statuses, one for your friends' statuses. You can find them in the navbar:

Then once you're viewing a stream, you can enable email notifications for that stream:

Is this what you're looking for, @Cash In?

Aside: Activity streams are super powerful and you can create your own to keep up with any kind of content on MLPF you like. :)

  9. Attempt #2 at switching to the new search engine took place today and is working so far! The "activity" page on profiles is now loading from it. Credit to @AppleDashPoni for setting it up! It's still indexing but should be done within a few hours to a day or so.

If you run into any issues or notice the search being significantly better, please open a new questions or feedback thread. :)

  10. Thanks for writing these issues up, @Luna the Great of all the Russias. The screenshots are much appreciated.

    1. The missing prefix was an artifact of merging the "technical issue" and "technical issues" tags in the backend when I was doing some tag cleanup the other day. I didn't know "technical issue" was being used as a prefix here and that that would remove it as an option, so... whoops! I added "technical issues" as a prefix option.
    2. Fixed. This was from when I tinkered with adding support for tables to the editor for @Brony Number 42. Unfortunately it wasn't a very successful experiment.
    3. Acknowledging the issue. This is a theme issue that arose during the last upgrade of our backend software, Invision Community. I hope to fix it or find someone else who can in the coming days.
  11. It's a temporary bug. We were working on setting up a new search engine for the site and it's temporarily borked (and the profile activity tabs use the search function under the hood). Hoping to have it fixed up today or tomorrow.
