  1. A nice analysis of the Guard. Although they're present all throughout the show, they remain a group shrouded in mystery. As you pointed out, we don't know very much about them, but you did a great job compiling what little info there was into a very nice essay.

World-building fascinates me, and the mythology of FiM's universe was one of the main draws for me. Have yourself a follower. :)

  2. Wow. I know that aspartame causes cancer in rats, but I thought it was widely believed that it is harmless to humans. That sounds like a nightmarish experience, dancing on the line of liver failure with unhelpful doctors all along. And down in the States, you were probably invoiced for every doctor visit, too! :o

I'm personally an advocate for avoiding it whenever possible. Non-diet soft drinks are flavoured with good old sugar, which our bodies know exactly what to do with. You only run into issues with sugar if you consume so much of it that it gets processed into fat, but I stop enjoying sweet stuff long before I reach that point.

  3. Well, i got to hand it to him... This is a really great idea! But, i believe you'll be in need for good quality vectors of the ponies aswell...

Concord makes an excellent point. Drafts and sketches are great to show your ideas, but hand-drawing them and then designing them on the computer are two different things. What looks good on paper doesn't mean it'll look good on screen and vice-versa. Once it goes to the computer, vector files are mandatory in order to make him or her appear big or small and not diminish the resolution's quality, something fixed raster files do.

Vectors will definitely be produced after the designs themselves are settled in. Ray is aware that these ponies are intended to be vectorized before they're used on Pony.fm, but pencil-and-paper was his choice of media to draft out the initial designs, so I'm happy to let him use that.

  4. Id be interested in helping look for bugs and quality issues. Thats if that sort of job becomes available. If not then Im glad to wait for the sites open day smile.png

Hullo. I'd like to join in the Alpha testing.

I'm interested in doing vocal covers for other songs to upload to Pony.fm. I could also report any bugs I'd run into.

Thanks, guys! :D You're in. Head over here to get started: http://mlpforums.com/topic/40817-welcome-to-the-ponyfm-qa-team/

  5. Hey DQ,

I just stumbled across this blog entry, and I have to say that I wish I saw it sooner! :o You should've posted it as a feedback topic.

Just want to say that I really appreciate your analysis of our logo and I'll definitely bring this entry up internally for review. Incidentally, I've been thinking of getting a new logo designed, because, as you pointed out, branding is pretty important these days - and it's only going to get more important with my upcoming plans to expand the community in the not-too-distant future.

  6. I wonder what do you use to make Pony.fm Feld0. laugh.png

Your colour selection is simple, elegant, but works perfectly. The template looks nice as well. It feels like we can do everything in one page.

It's only for artist--I mean musician correct?

P.S. Twenty four hours per day isn't enough indeed.

The front-end that you see is built with Zurb Foundation. Truth be told, I'm using it mostly for its responsive layout features, but I intend to give Pony.fm a complete visual makeover in due time. I'm glad it looks good, though.

Pony.fm is for every brony who's into fan music, whether they're an artist or a listener. The site has lots of features for both demographics to enjoy. ;)

  7. I am a pony musician and would love to assist in the growth and development of this site! I hope to get it off the ground and progress it further so that it may be open to the public. If you need any proof, just look up Chrome Dash (Chrona) on soundcloud!

Hey Chrome Dash, thanks! I've added you to the alpha. Please read through this page to get up to speed on everything you need to know as a tester: http://mlpforums.com/topic/40817-welcome-to-the-ponyfm-qa-team/ :)

  8. Nothing I love more than listening to and making music. I make electronica, dubstep, 8-bit, techno, and some more emotional piano-only songs. Sign me up! /)

I haven't directly created fan music, but I've written songs before and I've sung for some people on the forum. I've been a musician all my life and I'm always doing something music related and I'm planning to participate even more in fandom music.

Thanks for the interest, guys! :) I've added you both to the alpha. Please head over to this topic to get started with the alpha: http://mlpforums.com/topic/40817-welcome-to-the-ponyfm-qa-team/

  9. I'm not a creator of MLP fan music, but I am a listener. I saw you say in the comments that there will be opportunities for listeners to help out. I'd love to help out once such an opportunity became available.

Well I'm new to making music and have made a couple songs but like I said I'm pretty new to it. Can I still help?

Hey guys. Sorry for missing these comments - it looks like I missed a notification somewhere!

I've added you both to the Pony.fm alpha. Please check out the pinned topics in the QA forum to get started with the testing. :)

  10. Oooh, it's only a DS game, but if you are in an Atlus mood, see if you can track down a copy of Radiant Historia. It is an absolutely fantastic game; one of those shining paragons of video games as an art form. The story, music, and even artistic direction are all beautiful, and the gameplay brings with it a few excellent spins on the classic turn-based RPG.

I wish you the best of luck with starting that Atlus collection. Hopefully, you'll have no trouble finding the rest of the games on your list; those are 13 really fantastic picks, and you'll love your 3DS to pieces with them.
