My Mom means well but she just dosen't seem to get it, she is supportive of my goal to be an author but keeps talking about what my "career" may be in the future. I have no interest in another "job" whatsoever, I am not going to leave one job where I am treated like a number to get another job where I am treated like a god damned number.

Well, to be an author, you have to bear down your skills. You will likely need other things to keep you afloat financially while you work on that.
My plan, I have a similar fascination with writing, is to get into a career that is close to being an author anyway, such as a writer for a show, or a journalist, or something that could also transfer numerous skills from being an author to the job.
Just don't get one mindset and refuse to consider other options or possib...
