Honestly, I had the same misconception before playing it and as such never once took a look at it despite the large number of people around me that had started to play it. It wasn't until NC managed to pounce on me during a particularly vulnerable moment that I was finally convinced to give it a try. I'm glad I did. Whereas your standard FPS relies primarily on twitch gameplay (which isn't a bad thing - I rather like it at times), WoT is much slower paced, and quite a bit more methodological. It's less about rushing in for the kill, and more about staying under cover and giving careful consideration to your positioning, and making every shot available to you count. TL;DR: it ain't no TF2.

I believe that Feld0 was able to fix this last night early this morning - turns out that one of our forum hooks was updated and started to develop a few bad habits. We'll be keeping our eyes on things, though.

Apologies for the lack of response thus far. Arylett more or less hit the nail on the head when she said that the system is more or less too complex to be workable. Something of this nature would require an extremely massive time investment from Scootacool, who is honestly already a little overburdened with all of the stuff that we're throwing at him presently. If there were any premade forum extensions of this type available we could take a closer look at the idea and start diving into the specifics of whether or not everything would be workable and beneficial for the community, but given the (as far as I know) lack of such things, I think we're a bit out of luck, I'm afraid - we simply do not have the necessary developmental capabilities to take on a beast of this size. That said, we are presently exploring other things that people may find to be a fairly enjoyable. Sorry for the bad news - it's what I do these days.

It is with regret that I announce an indefinite leave of absence on the part of the other half of the Oop duo. Our beloved Swoop, known for spending mind-bending amounts of time selflessly working toward the betterment of the community, has been struck by the accursed bus known as Real Life. It is presently not known when he will be able to return to active duty, but I think I speak for everyone here when I say that I hope it is soon - otherwise I'll have nobody else to push my work onto. All joking aside, Swoop's ability to defuse even the most fiery situations has been extremely useful in keeping the peace on the forum, and his ability to force-feed common sense and civility into even the most stubborn of individuals is something that I am quite honestly jealous of. With any luck, Swoop will be able to swoop back into the community before too terribly long, but it is presently too early to know for certain.
