Used to be heavily into obscure online PC games that nobody knows about or cares about. Giants: Citizen Kabuto and Freelancer being the two big one; I helped operate an FL server a year prior to getting into ponies. In between the gaming and ponies, I spent time on a couple anime forums, despite the fact that I'm not much of an anime nut.

I don't believe that it is moronic for someone to care about the state of their rights - the person in that video, for example, brought up a very good point when he started talking about what would happen to his partner if he were to die. How is worrying about your loved one's future after your own passing moronic? I agree that there are a large number of very significant issues at hand presently, and that gay marriage should not be among them - rather than making it be a subject of attention and debate, people should simply be given equal rights and that should be the end of it. If you want to make the argument that marriage is a fundamentally religious institution and should subsequently not be forcefully tampered with, that's fine - call it a civil union if it will make it less of an issue. But yeah, I agree - people should be able to focus on other issues. :V While I disagree with Romney's position, I do have to respect the fact that he was willing to give the guy the straight yes or no answer he asked for, without a bunch of political nonsense to go along with. That's more than you can get out of many politicians. I don't think it's terribly petty though - he's concerned about what rights (if any, and if at all) will be afforded to his partner should something happen to him; I do not believe that being concerned for your family's well being can be considered petty.

It looks like you've already figured it out, but as a general heads-up, you might consider being a bit less abrasive when asking for assistance in the future - it will make people much more inclined to help you.

Not really decided on that yet. For now, here will work just fine, though we may end up opening a pinned thread in the feedback board for people to make suggestions.

The patent system as a whole is in dire need of a great deal of reform - the system is broken, and is doing nothing beyond creating a market for patent trolls to extort large sums of money out of people that are actually involved in innovation and the like. They act more at this point as a tax on innovation than anything else, as numerous people have described it.

Could you try again? I just had another user (non moderator) attempt to comment in one of the entries, and they were able to do so with no problem.

That is... odd, actually. According to the database permissions, anyone that isn't a guest (or banned) should be able to add comments to the FAQ entries. Which entry were you trying to comment on, exactly? Maybe - right now we're still struggling to get people to direct their issues to the ticket system rather than the feedback board/our PM inboxes. It may be toned down somewhat in the future as that behavior changes. You type words into it and press enter. I really don't know if that needs an FAQ entry, to be honest... it's pretty self-evident, I Think. Because.

After a development cycle that has lasted roughly fifty years, the MLP Forums site FAQ is being unleashed upon the unsuspecting public. You can find the link to it under the 'help' button in the navigation bar. Given the amount of time we've been talking about it, you're all no doubt expecting something massive and encyclopedic but that isn't quite the case, sadly - work on getting the thing filled up with good entries has been extremely slow, to the point that we've more or less now decided to just pull the curtain and continue adding to it as we go from here - having a partial FAQ up is better than having no FAQ, after all. Populating the FAQ database with appropriate information is going to be an ongoing, and very likely long-term project. Our present plans for it moving forward from here is to get FAQ entries for our extranet functions (TF2 & Minecraft servers, Synchtube, etc.) added in, as well as any additional questions that we may have overlooked. On that note, question (and/or answer) suggestions would be very highly welcome - give that the staff is in such a position that we typically know a fair deal about damn near everything that is going on, we've probably overlooked a lot of things that everyday users might consider valuable information. Any suggestions you might have for additional FAQ content would be very welcome!

Time to throw out an unpopular opinion: I honestly could not stand this movie; I was streaming it with some friends while we all chatted in a Skype conference, and... it ended up being one of the first movies I've ever had to walk away from. But... I've never been one to enjoy slashers or similar sorts of movies, so I think it's safe to say that I'm not exactly the target audience. I do have to give it some credit, though - they certainly didn't half-ass the gore aspect. x_x
