  1. For me it's definitely junior year. I was taking Calculus BC and AP Physics C. There were times when my physics teacher had to teach us how to apply calculus we didn't even know yet. How did your SAT go? I took it on Saturday too.
  2. When it comes down to it, I think it really matters what degree you get in college. Companies are always going to pay top dollar for their engineers, computer scientists, and statisticians, but you can't really complain about not finding work with a degree in history or liberal arts. Anyone will want an employee who's educated over one who's not for just any job, but the high paying jobs go to the ones who majored in what they were hired for.
  3. I liked this episode a lot more than I did the last one, mainly because the new character of Maud is pretty cool. Also, Maud wears a German WW1 helmet when she's drilling.
  4. 10/10 When I saw this sig I thought "ah geez a bunch of writing", but that's actually a pretty cool quote.
  5. Well, I've never been a big fan of Pinkie Pie, mainly because I saw her as kind of stupid from the beginning. I think that now her stupidity is just becoming more entertaining.
  6. Haha. I implore you to listen to everyone when they say that Fluttershy is waaaaay more popular than Rarity. But fine, I'll try to answer your question. I don't like Fluttershy as much as Rarity because she never changes and seems to be there just so people can identify with her. I love Rarity because she's more developed, manipulative, dramatic, and funny (not exactly qualities I look for in a human being, but in a show about talking ponies? Well...). But like I said, people don't like Rarity because she gets away with a lot more mean shit than the other ponies do. Ironically enough, That's why I like her.
  7. I can honestly say I'm pretty happy to be born a guy. I don't have to worry about getting pregnant, getting raped (as much), and getting a period. I'm not as emotional, and pretty happy about being that way. And from what I can tell, girls are a lot meaner to each other. I don't mind being expected to perform heavy lifting, regardless of whether or not I can come anywhere close to successfully doing it. I don't have a problem with being expected to be chivalrous or a gentleman. I don't mind any of the "mindless thug" stereotypes imposed on me. I am awkward at times, but it's not much of a setback. I'm sure one could list several reasons as to why girls have it easier, but I honestly can't think of any situation in which i would rather be a girl. (Also, I'm not trying to be sexist or anything, I'm just saying that in this modern age, guys have it off better.)
  8. I'm a junior in high school right now and I have to say I actually having a pretty good time. Middle school was definitely my least favorite. It was my first real experience with actual class periods and daily homework. Also, my middle school was a charter school, and we had this thing called the "learning challenge" where everyone had to do a year-long project and present it at the end of the year. In sixth grade, I procrastinated and dreaded it so much it pretty much ruined the year for me (my eighth grade project was probably the best part of middle school for me though).
  9. I'm 17 here. Alright, all I've really seen posted on this thread is a bunch of people (other teens included) bitching about how much they hate this generation of teens. Stop it. Just because you think partying, getting wasted, or doing drugs is a stupid thing to do doesn't make you any better than them. Their growing up, and instead of wasting their youth away watching a tv show for little girls, they decided to have a good time by doing reckless things they've never been able to do before. So what if they care about being popular? That's their choice to make, and it doesn't make them any stupider for wanting to be accepted by their peers (in fact, it's pretty normal). It's all part of learning how to be an adult. Calling them "swaggots" doesn't help. Maybe you need to realize that they're into things you're not. The youth from any other generation has gotten just as much hate, and grew up to be adults who pushed their problems back onto the next generation, who they in turn hated.
  10. I'm afraid of touching my eyes. I've never really liked the idea, and once I tried getting contact lenses and I almost passed out.
  11. I guess it's fine not to watch the show. But I do think that a lot of the fan-made content is a lot more enjoyable after having watched the show. I mean, if you can't get through a full episode, then don't watch it, but if you have the ability, then for sure watch at least a few episodes.
  12. 1. Faint - Linkin Park - 7.5/10 2. Cry Like a Ghost - Passion Pit - 8/10 3. Cupcakes - Daniel Ingram - 7/10 4. Head Over Feet - Alanis Morissette - 4/10 5.Tell Me What You See - The Beatles - 9/10 Overall: 7.1/10 Makes me realize how much stuff is on my ipod that I don't listen to.
  13. I never had a problem with season 3, in fact I really liked it. One thing about season 4 is that it's so different from any other season so far. So far these season 4 episodes have been so off-the-wall, it's almost as if each episode is trying to one-up it's predecessor in craziness (one exception being the CMC episode). In some ways I feel like their wasting some great ideas. I mean, instead of having Daring Do be real, why not do and episode on writers block or something? That would be far more interesting than the crazy sound and light show we got. So I guess you could say that season 4 changed my perspective on season 3 in the sense that it made me realize how much more grounded season 3 is.
  14. Eruka from Soul Eater is clearly the best. Can't think of anyone else though.
  15. Lauren Faust can say anything she likes, regardless of whether she's in control or not, and it won't be canon unless it's actually on the show. Just my opinion though. In what way? It's already plainly obvious that the races aren't equal. It would just be kind of a bummer episode for Applejack and Pinkie Pie. Also, racism already exists in the show, as shown by the almost all unicorn population of Canterlot, the majority earth pony population of Ponyville, and the 100% pegasus population of cloudsdale (that's more just 'cause other ponies can't walk on clouds though). In Winter Wrap Up, Applejack even shows disdain for Twilight's use of magic even when they're clearly behind schedule and need her help. You also forgot how they're flight-resistant too. (get it?) Even given that, I think it's silly to assume that a pony's early life experiences have no effect on what their special talent is. If it weren't for Rarity's original interest in fashion, she never would have discovered her particular talent for finding gems. If Applejack hadn't worked on a farm her whole life, she never would have left home, and never would have discovered how important farming is to her. If Twilight hadn't enrolled to take magic lessons in Canterlot, she would never have tried to use magic to open Spike's egg. Cutie marks may not change after they appear, but that's why they appear towards the ending of a pony's childhood. They need to discover what they're good at after they've developed.
  16. I liked this episode a lot. I feel like this episode is a slightly different style from what the episodes are normally like. It's kind of unusual for all the members of the mane six to get equal coverage in an episode that isn't a finale/primer. Call me crazy, but I think season 4 is going to start drifting from the slice-of-life format and start turning into a season-long plot-arc kind of show. The premier got rid of the elements and introduced a mysterious box, and straight away in the next episode their still focusing on the box. It's and interesting development and I'm interested to see where the writers take it.
  17. This may sound weird, but I actually LOVE Rarity because of her seemingly stuck-up nature and slightly elitist attitude. I guess it's the fact that although she loves being generous, the fact that she can take advantage of her friendships is what sets her apart from the rest of the mane six. Just look at the "Becoming Popular" episode. She blatantly lies to both her friends and the Canterlot elite, totally throws Twilight under the bus with a stupid looking dress, and then gets away with it! There is literally no consequence for her dishonesty. Instead, she learns that she didn't even have to go to all that trouble to become popular in Canterlot after all. And it's not just the fact that she was dishonest, but the fact that she would be so devious as the even think of something like that, and then gets away with it without hurting anypony's feelings. Any other member of the mane six would have totally crumbled under the pressure and spilled the beans or just plain fucked up somewhere along the line, and would have had to apologize to all her friends (not to mention learning a completely different lesson). And I think that is what makes Rarity seem more developed to me than the other mane six. Maybe that makes me a bad person, but it's just what I value most in a character. So, yeah. Rarity is best pony. Bitches.
  18. In general, I wouldn't get too worked up about it. But if you are concerned, I would recommend just spending and hour or two every week on some other activity that you find fun. But overall, I don't think playing video games can be addictive. Having a good time doing what you want to do in your free time should be more important than what someone else thinks of your hobby.
  19. Well of course Discord helped. He was the one who told them to go to Zecora for help, and he was the one who convinced Twilight to turn back and help her friends. He just helped in a way that seemed super dickish. But at the end of the day, he was the one that ended up teaching a valuable lesson.
  20. Well, I though it was pretty good. Not introducing yet another villain was a big step in the right direction. Seeing the origin of the elements was a good idea too, and getting rid of them was a pretty interesting plot development. It seems to me like mlp is becoming less and less of a slice of life show. One complaint I have is the absence of any songs. Another is that it was too long. There, I said it. Half an hour is plenty time to tell the same story, as demonstrated in Magical Mystery Cure. I genuinely think that having shorter season finales/premieres is the right way to go. Just think about it: what was the first flashback sequence's purpose other than to make a false cliffhanger for the next episode? Was there really any point in showing how Luna was defeated, seeing how it has no relevance to this episode? In general, I just think the premier had way too much filler to warrant two full episodes.
  21. Actually, I kind of wanted to be put down as a student for physics. Although I'm interested in the subject, I have yet to possess very much knowledge of it other than what's taught in freshman physical science. So if you could move be to the students section for physics, that'd be great. Thanks!
  22. Well this is pretty cool. I'd be happy to help out in anything in algebra or precalculus. I'm also pretty good in c++ and objective c programming languages. Also, I could really use some help in AP physics, particularly the calculus aspect of it.
  23. I always kinda thought the video response feature was a good way to see videos on the same topic, as well as videos made by less well-known youtubers.
  24. Most of my friends were kind of anti-brony until they found out that I was one. Now they just don't seem to care except for the occasional joke.
  25. I chose Neptune cuz it was like named after the Roman god of the sea and shit. I used to be super fascinated with space, but I never paid much attention to our solar system.
