Oh wow, some classics and some real drek here 1) Suited for Success - A straight up classic, one of the show's most legendary episodes that really challenged people's perception of Rarity 2) The Last Roundup - A great AJ episode as well as a great mane 6. Also fuck the Derpy bullshit, it's not a Derpy episode and just because they changed her doesn't make this episode any less worse 3) Canterlot Boutique - It was great to see Rarity finally expand her business and Sassy Saddles makes for a great antagonist 4) Fame and Misfortune - I still think it's funny, and I enjoyed the song. It was a fun meta commentary on fandoms in general. Only issues is that complaints they pointed out were outdated by the time this episode came out 5) Filli Vanilli - A pretty good episode for Fluttershy and Flutterguy was a really funny comeback, but Jesus Christ Pinkie practically ruins the episode 6) The Last Laugh - They made a Weird Al episode boring, that's absolutely unforgiveable 7) The Cart Before the Ponies - Yeah, this one was kinda unsurprising to be so low. I don't hate as much as others seem to, I can see where the writers were going with this(with adults taking over for kids when they aren't supposed to and ruin the fun, like how parents of sports teams are). But the execution was piss poor, to say the very least 8) A Matter of Principals - Discord can go get his ballsack raked with a cheese grater. This one straight up made me never want to see Discord ever again, and unfortunately it only got worse from there

The show ended in S8 and Rainbow Roadtrip was the last thing that happened

1) Winter Wrap Up - One of those episodes that's kinda hard to explain why its so good. A great song as well as an interesting showcase how the show's world and its weather works 2) Flutter Brutter - Left me conflicted, Zephyr himself is awful and ruins the episode, but everything else is really good, especially Fluttershy, one of her best appearances 3) Molt Down - Could have used more oomf, but a solid Spike episode that shake's up his character a bit with a new appendage 4) Student Counsel - Starlight and her own group are fun, not really much to add 5) Party Pooped - Pinkie's adventure is hilarious, but it introduced the yaks, who are still among one of the show's worst additions 6) Just for Sidekicks - Angel being a dick is still funny, but otherwise it's just a meaner version of Secret of my Excess, which isn't as funny 7) Hearth's Warming Eve - First HWE episode and still the weakest imo. Never liked it when it first aired, hated the beginning and end, the ending to the play was really corny, even by the show's standards 8) Not Asking for Trouble - Reintroduces the Yaks, they aren't as bad as their first appearance, but they still aren't that good 9) Three's a Crowd - Probably the start of "Discord is reformed but still a prick to everyone just because", at least it isn't as bad as other episodes since he actually gets his comeuppance here, but after what later seasons have done with him it's really hard to go back too

1) The Perfect Pear - It's Perfect Pear 2) Stranger Than Fan Fiction - Still one of the show's funniest episodes. It's a fun poke at nerd culture and I'm surprised at how much I liked Quibble 3) Between Dark and Dawn - The dream princess episode everyone asked for, just Celstia and Luna enjoying a vacation, and it's very cure and wholesome 4) Fall Weather Friends - Still the best RD/AJ rivalry episode, just them trying to one up each other without it being at the expense of anyone else. Most episodes focusing on the pair either forget or ignore why this episode worked in the first place 5) Magical Mystery Cure - Gets more hate than it deserves. There's a lot of problems, but you can tell it's really trying. Not to mention, everything wrong with it is almost entire out of the episode's control 6) Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep? - Kinda pandery, and the whole self-harm thing is handled pretty poorly, but there are some funny moments(RD's nightmare) and the climax is a lot of fun 7) The Mean 6 - Kinda wasted potential. Has some great moments but the mean 6 feel like they could have offered more so getting rid of them at the end is a bummer, and it kinda turns Chrysalis into a joke 8) Baby Cakes - The Cake Twins are a pain in the ass, otherwise it's just bland and boring 9) Simple Ways - Only good thing about it is Applejewel, otherwise it was the episode that convinced me that it was possible to make a bad Rarity episode, Rarity is Newbie Dash levels of dumb here. It's also around this point where I was sick of seeing these two paired up all the damn time, especially with both the show and comics milking it for all they're worth. Also Trenderhoof sucks and is the show's worst character just for being lame

Bear in mind, most of my opinions on S9 probably don't really hold...any weight or merit. I got so upset with S9 I quit halfway through, so I haven't seen past episode 15, and most of my thoughts for the rest of the seasons are based on screenshots, plot summaries and random clips. Though my thoughts on S6, 7 and 8 I feel are still fair game

I heavily disagree unfortunately. I agree that as a writer Haber is fine, but his story editing is awful, to the point where I believe he doesn't do his job unless it involves his own personal ideas or biases. S6 was one of the show's weakest seasons and a huge step down to everything before it. the Lady Writers were way better and it really shows in S7. He came back with a second story editor in S8, which was better than S6 but not by much as it suffers a lot of the same problems, but I feel because it had two people in charge meant less bullshit getting through, and this really shows plain as day in S9, where the first have was mostly fine, if not a but underwhelming, then Haber was left alone on the second half, went back to its old habits, and S9 fell off a cliff while Dubuc went to story edit Rainbow Roadtrip which was better than just about the entirety of S9

Josh Haber has straight up admitted they don't keep any sort of list, record, or "a story bible" of things that have happened and instead have relied on fan wikis, which was a terrible idea and unfortunately explains so much

1) Pinkie Pride - Because it’s Pinkie Pride 2) Amending Fences - one of those MLP episodes that gets unexpectedly emotional in all the best ways 3) Discordant Harmony - Fox Bros only good episode and the small glimmer of hope that Discord, both the character and his episodes, could really improve 4) Call of the Cutie - A good introduction of of the CMC 5) Games Ponies Play - Another episode based entirely on a dumb misunderstanding. Unlike On Your Marks though it’s actually funny and entertaining. Also, a really under appreciated moment, towards the end where RD willingly takes the fall for everything going wrong, really sad they never let her have more moments like it 6) Spice Up Your Life - An almost good episode that gets dragged down by having Rarity go completely against everything she stands for half way through. I’ll be nice since it has a catchy song 7) Last Crusade - This is kinda hard for me to talk about, as a CMC episode and a (should be) send off for them it’s pretty good, what drags this down though is Scootaloo’s parents are genuinely awful and the episode doesn’t address this and act like their lifestyle and “””””parenting””””” is fine when it’s not 8) Family Appreciation Day - I’d say it was around here I was sick of Applebloom getting all the CMC focus(especially when Scootaloo hadn’t even gotten one up to this point). Learning about the history of Ponyville was neat I guess but it’s otherwise a dull episode 9) Marks For Effort - Is just really lame and boring
