I don’t know, S5 has a pretty awful finale, but otherwise it’s still a pretty great season, whereas S9 as a whole has left me completely sour. I’d still rather have the movie or one of the specials be the finale, or even just S7, S8 if i’m Feeling generous

1) Sparkle's Seven - Unsurprisingly the VAs know their characters the best 2) Applebuck Season - Still one of AJ's most fun appearances 3) Daring Don't - Probably on of the few episodes that have aged better as time went on, namely because they decided to run with the idea of Daring being real 4) Bloom and Gloom - A solid episode, but easily the weakest of the CMC Dream episodes 5) Luna Eclipsed - Luna is a hoot, but jesus christ Pinkie drags it down like no tomorrow 6) Fake It 'Til You Make It - It's Fluttershy trying to different to the point where she becomes a bitch and it's honestly funny to watch. Also for once Fluttershy isn't perfect 7) Rock Solid Friendship - By this point I was getting sick of Maud 8) One Bad Apple - The bullied become the bullies because the plot said so. Shows dealing with bullies rarely go well and unfortunately this part of the episodes that failed miserably. Only reason it's not dead last is because it has a catchy song 9) On Your Marks - A stealth Applebloom episode where she just acts depressed for a 3rd of the episode over a dumb misunderstanding, it stinks

1) Flight to the Finish - It's got Scootalove, it's automatically top tier 2) Sisterhooves Social - A fantastic first episode for Sweetie Belle, on top of being one of the few Rarijack episodes that doesn't overstay it's welcome 3) Gauntlet of Fire - After seasons of Spike getting shat on, he definitely needed this one 4) Grannies Gone Wild - It sounds like a King of the Hill episode, which is awesome. Also RD joining the Golden Horseshoe Gals made a better episode than her joining the Wonderbolts, that's both awesome and depressing 5) Griffon the Brush-Off - Gilda's a fun bitch, makes Pinkie and RD a fun duo 6) Tanks for the Memories - I like the episode, it has lots of fun and cute moments, but I still think they should have bit the bullet and actually let Tank straight up die, because everything would make a lot more sense if he did 7) Point of No Return - Pretty inconsequential, doesn't really do much for me 8) Magic Duel - I never cared for Trixie in the slightest, so this does nothing for me 9) Fluttershy Leans In - Another "Fluttershy is perfect and right about everything" episode. Yeah it's kinda lame

1) The Saddle Row Review - Not just a great Rarity episode, but a great Mane 6 episode, they were all in top form 2) Bridle Gossip - I liked this one when it first aired, and I remembered a ton of people liking it. It's honestly a shame the fandom turned on it, even barring unfortunate implications, I still think it's worth watching for the poison joke gags alone 3) Pinkie Apple Pie - Made me want more Pinkie Pie and Applejack episodes, heck, more Pinkie/Apple family episodes in general, they work so well together 4) Spike at Your Service - I unironically love this one. Yeah, it's a shit Spike episode, but it's also one of the best mane 6 episode, with some having their funniest moments aaaaaaaand after that it goes completely down hill 5) Slice of Life - Gonna be generous and give this one an edge. If you like fandom memes and BG ponies you'll probably like this one. I don't so for me it sucks 6) Sweet and Smoky - Garble still sucks and should have never been redeemed 7) Sweet and Elite - Show's most overrated episode. >Episode before, MMDW, RD gets a big head, gets humiliated and punished for it >Very next episode, Rarity lies constantly for her own personal gain. Is celebrated and rewarded for it fuck off 8) Honest Apple - Getting your friend who you know hates the things your getting to judge is a fucking bad idea, and saying AJ was the one in the wrong when she was never interested in fashion, and actively making her the bad guy is a load of bullshit. I think by this point even the writers were completely sick of seeing Rarity and AJ together all the time 9) Non-Compete Clause - Of course it's this. "Oh, god, why do you guys like RD and AJ so much, why can't you like our new OCs instead?"

1) Rarity Takes Manehattan - A much needed episode for Rarity after she skipped out in S3 2) The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone - I was so happy to see Gilda come back after so long, and she got a redemption that didn't suck balls, which was a series first up to this point. Also, the first actually good map episode for a while 3) A Hearth's Warming Tail - It's just A Christmas Carol with ponies, and you know what? That's totally fine, it's a good retelling with some of the show's best songs 4) Apple Family Reunion - This is the most underrated episode in the entire show. AJ just wants to have a good family reunion, and even if things don't go according to plan, seeing everyone come together to fix the barn is really heart warming 5) Frenemies - A fucking fun villain episode 6) Look Before You Sleep - The start of the Rarijack oversaturation, though unlike MFBKD, I wouldn't blame the episode for it. It's honestly fun the characters bounce off well, nothing amazing but nothing too bad either 7) Parent Map - imo, it's just a weaker version of Parental Glideance, especially Starlight's dad and Sunburst's mom we were nowhere near as fun as RD's parents 8) Hard to Say Anything - It's an episode about a grown-ass man taking dating advice from fairy tales and children. It probably sounded funnier in their heads but the execution leaves a lot to be desired 9) The Mysterious Mare Do Well - It's the fucking Mysterious Mare Do Well, of course it sucks. There's a reason why it was never mentioned again

1) Wonderbolts Academy - If you know me, you already I love this episode 2) Parental Glideance - First time since S6 started where I was genuinely happy with the show. S7 was off to a good start but after Newbie Dash I really needed this one 3) Dragonshy - This was the first episode that really showed me what the show was capable of and convinced me to stick around 4) May the Best Pet Win - One of the show's more underrated episodes. Fun sequences, a great song, and Tank is a trooper. Also it gets credit for being one of the few morals RD learns on her own instead of treating her like and idiot and spoonfeeding it 5) Make Friends But Keep Discord - I'd say it started the trend Discord acting like a huge dick to everyone because he never had his way. It never got as bad as the future episodes did, but it really doesn't age well especially now 6) Bats! - It's only good for Flutterbat [REDRACTED] and nothing else 7-8) Horse Play and She's All Yak - pretty interchangeable, don't really care for either of them. Though I'll probably give Horse Play the upper hand since it has Celestia being adorable 9) Newbie Dash - I hate this episode. I hate everything it stands for. It takes RD's entire character arc and turns it into a huge joke, and it laughs at you for following it for so long. I refuse to believe anyone wrote it or approved with the intent of making a good episode, it goes out of its way to make you hate it. Fuck this episode, it should crawl back up the asshole it came out of

I'd like it, but I seriously doubt it. Most IDW staff don't seem to care about it at all, with only two comics based on it, both being really bad. One in particular, the Holiday 2014, being one of the most despised comics in the entire IDW MLP run which is quite an accomplishment, and nothing since. That should really tell you everything

Hot take: I actually have more faith in the comics than the show at this point. Hell they managed to salvage RD’s Wonderbolts arc where the show set it out to die

Best Night Ever because it’s the only one that doesn’t suffer from having its head up its own ass

It was really obvious there was a ton of favoritism towards unicorns in the show, especially as the show went on

Sunset Shimmer got ridiculously popular by the time Rainbow Rocks rolled around, I wouldn't be surprised if they brought her back for G5. Whether she appears as a main character remains to be seen Hasbro does this with their franchises all the time. Transformers regularly reboots their characters and while they may share similarities they're usually never the same. Heck they already did that with FiM, where all the characters are based on or named after existing characters of past MLP generations I swear, it's like the idea of rebooting characters and franchise is completely foreign to the brony fandom
