  1. Hey Disney, quit making shitty remakes of your animated movies, get off your butts and finally go make another  National Treasure movie

They're going to keep doing it if they keep making money. :maud:

The Disney remake trend was already oversaturated to a comical degree a while ago. I can kind of... maybe... I guess forgive them remaking some of the lesser films in their canon (Pete's Dragon, although neither version is anything more than okay), but remaking The Lion King (which, like it or not, is considered one of their most popular films) only 25 years later with 'photorealistic' visuals? The whole trend is such a plainly obvious shill and the films produced in its wake aren't even good quality on the whole; most just blandly copy the original with a superficial 'darker' tone (almost as if they're positing that animation is for kids - if Disney of all companies believes that, then it's sufficient to say it isn't a good outlook on them as a whole) and a few 'self-referential' moments thrown in to appease the tabloids and certain sets of internet users, which is worsened by the fact that these films are somehow also extremely lucrative, which just ends up gratifying the company's views and feeding the trend more. Unfortunately, it also doesn't appear to be letting up any time soon.
