I still find it very weird that Albert Einstein was born on Pi Day.

Actually, the study of Pi dates back to ancient Babylon. The earliest finite name associated with Pi was the Egyptian Ahmes, who estimated that Pi= 3.16(ish) around 1650 BC. Pretty close, considering he used a method way different than the one we use today.
As long as there have been circles, there has been Pi.
