      I don't know...

      I don't know what liking someone feels like, other than platonically. 

      I'm just too scared to date, based on past experiences. So I'm not sure if it will ever happen, and I told him this, and he completely understood.

      I would suggest that if you like the boy (even platonically) you should suggest a "dutch" date, to get to know each other better, so long as he is fine with the fact you don't feel ready for a relationship right now.  Even if nothing comes of it romantically, having a friend who cares about you isn't a bad thing.

      Once you get your schoolwork back up to date of course :)
