      Okay, here's the skinny. Math is all about processes of steps. Try to understand each step separately, instead of trying to comprehend the whole problem at once.

      A matrix helps you find unknowns. So, an augmented matrix is nothing more than writing the equations in row and columns, then eliminating the variables and leaving only the coefficients so that it can be reduced later:
