  1. Pondah's body tumbled and rolled onto the beach. He had a fairly soft landing on some dry sand. When he stopped rolling, he slowly lifted his face. His tear-stricken eyes looked around at the devastation around him. There were large splinters of wood, sharp metal chunks and smashed glass all around. Hesitantly, Pondah stood up and was he was about an inch from being impaled by a metal shard.

He walked towards the beach and saw the actual remains of the airship. The main skeleton of it was heavily damaged and the engines had serious water damage. As he got closer, he could see something worse. Tens of bodies littered the beach, all battered and some bloody from the crash. Pondah stared in disbelief before he bolted. It didn't matter where he went, he just needed to hide and think things through.

'I... It's actually happened. I'm stuck on an island. I'm trapped. There needs to be an escape. I can't bury all these bodies by myself. Their family need to know what happened.'

With short hurried breaths, Pondah continued running. As he did, he heard a loud voice from not too far away. With an relieved mood, he rushed towards it to see a few ponies with a bull horn. As he was tired from the running, Pondah approached slowly.

  2. Pondah was still hiding under the table, completely obscured from view by a long table cloth. The airship rocked and shook violently in the storm, catapulting everything in the cafeteria towards a wall. He winced as he slammed into the wall. Luckily, the table took most of the impact. It took some time to regain his bearings and Pondah attempted to rationalise the situation; a surge of adrenaline made that impossible.

'How is this possible? The hotel must've been ripped from its foundations after that gust hit. Unless... What if this isn't a hotel? There's nothing it can be that gets blown around like that...'

Frantically, Pondah searched for another place to seek shelter and protection. Other ponies began to come round and seek safety as well. As Pondah scampered into a empty broom cupboard, he heard a booming voice from above.

After it finished speaking, he stopped. His question of "Where am I" had finally been answered. He exited the broom cupboard and squirmed on the floor in panic. 'How did I not notice earlier? The fancy decor, the shaking in the storm. This was obviously an airship. If I'd just let those ruffians attack, none of this would be happening to me. Now I'm going to die in an air crash. I'm going to be gone and it's all my fault!'

Pondah curled into a ball and began to sob. His tears soaked into the carpet and made a puddle around his head as he accepted his fate.

(@@Pat.Rio.T., I'll let you decide when the airship touches down.)

  3. Pondah scampered around the cafeteria in an attempt to find staff members that weren't occupied to help him get away from the "hotel". He searched the cafeteria for a fair while before he gave up. Every single pony he saw was doing something and were to busy doing important things to help with Pondah's request. He sat in the corner of the room. 'This is hopeless...'

As he sat, he overheard a muffled shout. He couldn't make out what it was but it was clear other ponies could. They began galloping around and the cafeteria became full of a cacophony of screams and shouts. The sudden din made Pondah jump and he tried  look for a way out. Before he could, he felt the floor shake. Pondah's mind kicked into gear and he hid beneath a table nearby. 'This must be an earthquake! Until this passes, I'm staying right here. Today just isn't my day...'

  4. With much more confident steps, Pondah worked his way through the corridors. He had no idea where he was going and frequently doubled back on himself. Strangely, the corridors were bare and as a result, there were no members of staff to help Pondah exit (what he thought) was the hotel.

After some time spent wondering blindly, Pondah found himself in the canteen. He went to approach someone to ask for help but hesitated. 'They all seem far too busy.'

  5. Cautiously, Pondah walked down the corridor. He was headed towards a set of stairs that lead up to a door. When he reached it, he slowly pushed it open and looked around. The coast as clear and he moved into new corridor.

The new corridor was longer than the last and still decorated with the same wallpaper. The walls were lined with matching doors  that had numbers on them the went down the further Pondah looked. Every few doors, there was a small wooden table with nothing in it. 'How odd,"  Pondah thought. ''Judging by what I can see, it looks like I'm in one of those hotels I've read about. Surely the staff here will understand my story.'

With this much more relaxing idea in mind, Pondah continued down the corridors, still unaware of where he really was.

  6. Pondah lifted his head as he awoke from his slumber. The place he was in was cramped and there was next to no light in there. He slowly rose to his hooves and tried to stretched a leg out  in front of him. He had hardly moved an inch before he came into contact with something hard. He ran his hoof across the hard object. It felt like it was made of canvas.

Slowly, Pondah moved around. He furrowed his brow with confusion. It appeared that there were several other hard canvas boxes of varying size arouind him.

Wiggling through the gaps between the boxes, he soon found himself up against a wall. He tapped it gently and found that it was hollow.  A crack of light was leaking in around the door and a metallic glint caught his eye. He placed a hoof on the metallic object and fiddled with it. As he did, the wall opened. Quickly, Pondah dashed into the light and shut the door behind himself.

Pondah's stared around with amazement as he found himself stood in a corridor. It was fairly short and decorated with red flock wallpaper and oak furniture. Chandeliers, the only light source in the corridor, flickered above him. 'Where am I?" he thought 'Why am I here?' He racked his brains for anything that might give him an idea as to where he was. 'The last thing I remember was running away from those ruffians. I must've fallen asleep in that dark place i hid in.'

As Pondah thought, he began to get more and more concerned. He wasn't sure why but he felt he shouldn't be where he was. This idea tore at his mind and he began to pace frantically back and forth. 'Don't worry. I just need to stay out of sight until I can find a way out. If nopony sees me, I'll be fine.'

(Holy crap. I'm so sorry I didn't post.)

When Shamrock finished speaking, Glacier turned around in her grasp and hugged tightly. "Thank you," she whispered into Shamrock's ear. She made no other sounds for a couple of minutes as she tried to calm herself down. She tried hard to get rid rid of her worries and let reflection on Shamrock's words soothe her but it was hopeless.

Glacier sighed before she spoke, "Please don't judge me on this. I may sound like a feral beast or cruel villain but... the reason I spent time in the Everfree to train as opposed to anywhere else is because I use death as a way to better myself. Ponies can do amazing feats of strength, dexterity and skill but it fascinates me how when their lives are on the line, we're capable of so much more. It seems that, like any creature of any sophistication, we still have some inate, primal urge that allows us to be greater when our life is on the line."

She went to continue with her feelings about the end of life but stopped herself. She realised that she'd just divulged her interest in death to a pony who, less than a day ago, told her about her own father's demise. For the sake of not losing one of the only ponies to have ever cared for her, Glacier stayed quiet.

Slowly, Glacier turned her head to look at Shamrock."I'm just thinking," she replied. "It's this city. I've come from the Everfree to Manehatten and it just doesn't feel right. Things are too... pedestrian. Life was much more interesting when every day was a challenge but in the city, it's easy."

Glacier looked off into the distance and sighed again. "In the Everfree, I had to do everything myself and rely on nopony else. But here things are different. If there's food around I can hunt or forage, there's shops every other yard. It's not good for how I want to live life."

She looked into Shamrock's eyes and continued. "My whole life has been dedicated to becoming stronger, tougher and faster. I want to be the most powerful pony I can be. The wilds are the only place that I can truly be powerful. But if we want to stay together, what will we do? Staying in the city means giving up years of hard work, blood and tears. Taking you into the forest means having to see each other wounded or dying." Glacier looked down and a single tear rolled from her eye. "I don't want to see you hurt, physically or mentally but I don't know any other way."

Glacier buried her face in the bushes and began to pick off the berries. She worked her way around some of the thorns but she still recieved the occasional scratch or prick from a stray thorn. When she came out of the bush, she had a short, shallow cut along her top lip. A few beads of blood had started to form. Gently, Glacier licked them away.

After her short meal, Glacier sat down on the grass and looked towards the city. The streets were still fairly quiet and not much was happening. That bugged her. Her life had gone from an action packed battle for survival to a rather calm, sedate and in Glacier's opinion, boring life. SHe gave a despondant sigh and settled down on the ground.

"Would you mind if we stayed here for a bit?"  Glacier asked. Before Shamrock had time to reply, Glacier had bolted off across the flat park. Several small bushes lay between her and the hills and she slowed down before she crashed through them. She breathed a sigh of relief after inspecting the bushes; they were thorny. They also contained large blackberries. "Do you want some berries?" Glacier exclaimed after turning to face Shamrock.

"I feel honoured you can share such personal information with me,"  Glacier replied. "You both sound like such strong and sharp ponies, both physically and mentally. If I only I could've met your father. I'm sure we could have all learned from each other."

The pair had now walked through the entire residential section of Fillydelphia and were nearing an open grass park. Beyond the park lay several rolling hills and the countryside. "Where shall we go from here?"  Glacier asked.

    (Feel-tacular!)

Shamrock's hat fell backwards on Glacier's head as it toppled from her horn. The nuzzle on the neck made her blush slightly. When Shamrock had finished speaking, she wrapped her forelegs around her and squeezed gently. "That sounds like a great idea to live a life by,"  Glacier whispered. She waited a few minutes before she continued. "If you don't mind me asking and you don't mind telling me, how did your father die?"

The instant Shamrock finished speaking, Glacier's head dropped and a frown spread across her face. "Please do not joke about having strokes, Shamrock," Glacier said in a serious tone. "My father suffered from them when I was younger. They are no laughing matter."  She closed her eyes and sighed softly as she thought about her father.

'I haven't seen him in so long. I need to meet him again.'

  14. @@Gloomfury

Glacier chuckled as Shamrock did. "Perhaps they could tell that I'd spent some time in the wilds," Glacier replied. "And yes, it would be good to get in some training. I still don't really know what's going to happen so a small bit of experience would be good." She smirked and continued: "Let's hope I only go with some of my insticts and not all of them."

Glacier's face erupted in a deep blush when Shamrock kissed her. "Shall we continue?" Glacier asked. "This dancing idea sounds quite interesting. Are there any important things I need to know beforehand? Although you said you hadn't done much dancing, it wouldn't be fair if I showed you up with my lack of talent."

It was stilll fairly early in the morrning so the streets were quiet and the light was still dim. Cats prowled the street and patrolled their territory, eager to protect it from potential invaders. One large black tomcat strolled up to Glacier and looked into her eyes. After a moment, it hissed loudly an dashed into a dark alley.''How kind," she thought.

When Shamrock nuzzled her neck, Glacier smiled. "Ok,"  she whispered into Shamrock's ear. "I'll make sure I do."   When she finished speaking, she pulled Shamrock into a soft and warm cuddle. "It's great to meet a pony that sees me as more than a feral beast. You're a wonderful mare, Shamrock. I'm honoured to have met you."

  17. @@Gloomfury

Glacier shook her head. "I didn't mean like that," she replied, keeping up with Shamrock as she wound onto the streets. "It was more of me reminding you of what I'm like in cramped spaces with lots of other ponies. I don't want to embarrass you by freaking out when I'm in a small space with lots of others. Sorry I'm so picky over these things...."

You seem to know much more about the local area and its happenings than I do,"  Glacier replied, still stretching her limbs. "It'd be best if you lead the way. Just remember the whole physical contact thing."

Glacier returned to her plate of pancakes and took the pancake she had started eating. She chewed and swallowed quickly. Soon, she had worked through the entire pancake. Quickly, she moved on to the remaining pancakes and hastily worked her way through them.
