S6 was it for me. S7 is my favorite season(mainly for the first half) but it's sandwiched between some real shit, to the point where I'd gladly give it up if it meant S6 and 9 never existed. I also liked S8, but it suffers from a lot of the same problems S6 and 9 had(though not quite as frustrating)

For me, it was "The Cutie Re-Mark" that killed my interest in MLP the first time. That episode is so convoluted and aggravating. 

After a year, I eventually forced myself to watch S6, which was horseshit. I eventually gained some interest back during S7, but it was nowhere near as high during S1-4. Halfway through S8, my interest began draining again. I only watched 3 episodes of S9 before I said "fuck it."
