I was going to say "Babs Seed", but then I saw you had already mentioned it (that one's impossible not to remember). As much as I like the last few seasons of MLP, I have to agree with you on the songs – the songs in the later seasons tend to be more like something out of a musical, while the early songs were more like pop songs (and catchier for that reason). Not that there's really anything wrong with that, but I prefer the latter.

I actually think EqG had better songs in the last couple of years than FIM ("Monday Blues", "So Much More to Me", "Coinky-Dink World"... hardly anything in the series could match those).

@Tacodidra "Five to Nine" & "Shake Things Up" are my favorite Equestria Girls Youtube songs.  

*I may be a *teensy* bit biased because Applejack is my favorite singer. 

@Sparklefan1234 I think Rarity has the best voice (besides being best pony). For some reason, though, I tend to enjoy Twilight and Pinkie's songs more.

Though "Rules of Rarity" is an absolute masterpiece, one of my favorite songs in the later seasons.
