I recently rewatched "Principal Simmons" and while I liked this episode originally, I wasn't enjoying myself this time around unfortunately.

Same here... though I still enjoy "I Will Prevail."

Still, while the song was great, it wasn't enough to save the episode from the Raspberry rating.

iirc, Arnold Betrays Iggy was so bad, Craig Bartlett himself publicly disowned the episode, going so far as to indirectly write Iggy off entirely, with his last mention being

      Reveal hidden contents

In the episode where Dino fakes his death, when Arnold walks by a trash can and goes to check it, he says "Iggy? Is that you?"

I'm wondering if that's symbolism on his feeling on both the character and/or the show

Actually, Iggy did appear and have a speaking role in the Season 5 episode "Gerald's Game." However, ever since Season 3, he has been reduced to a background character. :eww:

Arnold Saves Sid: This is a ridiculous plot device and I don't like it.

I've always hated the "I saved you life now I must serve you" plotline. I'll give Hey Arnold credit for not doing the "create a fake danger so Sid saves Arnold" cliché.

New Teacher: I like this episode a lot, too but what happened to Miss Slovak?

Well in the episode, Principal Wartz said she retired from teaching to pursue a career in golfing.

    Spoiler

Though in my opinion, I think Craig Bartlett wrote her off because she didn't have much character... :yeahno:

I also hate the "Two dates on the same night." trope from Arnold's Valentine but I just ignore that episode which, is why I didn't include it. :yeahno:

While I enjoyed "Arnold's Valentine," it wasn't as memorable as I remembered. Also, the ending was confusing with Gerald ending up with the real Cecile.

  5. Why didn't I comment on this last year?!

I was also turned off by Hasbro's marketing. To me, it reminded me of a band's sleazy promotion for their "farewell tour." Still, I forced myself to watch S9, but after the "Castle Sweet Castle" rehash with the student six "Uprooted" premiered last April, I finally said "fuck it" and tuned out completely. Since then, I haven't watched the rest of S9, or even any episode since last year, and frankly, I'd like to keep it that way.

I've pretty much lost all emotional attachment and nostalgia for this show. Hell, I have more nostalgia for Hazbin Hotel than I do for MLP now. :crackle:

I like them all myself, not sure if I even consider them guilty pleasures. :adorkable: I doubt the first three would get anywhere near as much hate if they were by less-known bands. >_>

Another song by the Beatles that I think gets too much hate is "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" (I hope that's not the one you hate).  It's also quite a fun song, with the contrast between the happy melody and the morbid lyrics being a large part of its appeal to me. Neither that nor Ob-La-Di is my favorite from them, but I enjoy them for what they are. :)

I loved "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" ever since I was a little kid. When I was much younger, I would pound my fist every time I hear the "bang-bang." :oh_golly:

I guess I was fooled, kind of... Most of it obviously read like a joke, but then I saw you mention "Smells like Teen Spirit" (which I knew you don't like).

I'm not sure how serious you were about that part, but I must admit I love "Black Hole Sun" (and not even as a guilty pleasure). :D Nostalgia plays a big part, but I can't help it. :rarity:

I dig "Black Hole Sun" as well as "Man in the Box." I was really exaggerating myself in this entry. Also, I originally was supposed to post something like this last year, but I was too lazy and uninspired.
