Why do some people only listen to brony music?
SCS replied to Champion RD92's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I like some brony music, but I don't listen to a whole lot of it. I liked some of the songs on the Balloon Party album, as well as some MLP song remixes on youtube. However, when I listen to MLP-related music, I usually listen to the actual songs from the show, or to background music extracted from the show. For me, there's no such thing as listening to only one kind of music. I need variety. Yes, there are certain kinds of music that I listen to far more than anything else, but I still at least need a variation by listening to different bands. Depending on my mood on a particular day, I might listen to a technical death metal song based on the philosophical work On Nature's Connection to the Spirit World by Friedrich Schelling. Or, I might listen to a melodic death metal song about an epic fantasy. Or, I might listen to background music from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. And so on. Generally, there are certain kinds of music that I like to listen to, based on musical and lyrical elements. I do not like music that is excessively violent, depressing, or otherwise morally offensive to me. I do not like music that is at all satanic, or grotesque in any shape or fashion. I prefer to listen to the kinds of death metal that, unlike what public perception of that genre probably is, are quite beautiful and lyrically intriguing. Sometimes I feel like listening to heavier music, and other times I feel like listening to lighter music, and places in between. All of the music I listen to, whether it be certain kinds of death metal, symphonic metal, or MLP music, falls within a general field of music that I like for various reasons. However, within that field, I do need variation. As such, I cannot listen to only one kind of music. -

My biggest fear is demons. I don't even think they're real, at least not in the Christian understanding of what they are. But even just the idea of them terrifies me. What scares me the most is the whole idea of demonic possession. Logically, do I really think something like that could ever happen to me? No, not really. But the fear is still there. I've tried watching horror movies to make myself less scared of these sorts of things. I'm not sure whether or not that worked at all. I've seen several horror movies, and this stuff still scares me. But, I am nowhere near as easily frightened as I was 3 years ago - but I'm not sure if that's from watching horror movies, or just from becoming more emotionally mature in general. I almost feel like my fear of demons might be a phobia, or at least bordering on one. You see, I saw a movie when I was 15 that I don't even want to name that terrified me more than anything else I have ever seen. It was a new movie about demonic possession, and it took place in the Vatican (or at least it looked like it did). I know it wasn't real, but it was just so realistic. Now, I can't look at pictures of the Vatican, or think of the Vatican, without the terror I felt when I saw that movie a year ago start to rise up in me again. I even get scared when I see a priest in a black outfit, since some of the priests in the movie wore black outfits. I was watching the news some months ago and a segment about the Vatican came on, and I felt like I was going to have a panic attack. Even just typing this right now, I feel like I'm going to have some kind of panic attack. I know I won't, because I've had a real panic attack before, and I don't feel anywhere near as stressed or freaked out as I did then. But I still feel like I'm on the road to having one by thinking about this stuff. If anyone can give me advice about how to overcome this irrational fear, I'd appreciate it.

I don't remember my dreams as often as I would like to. It seems though that usually when I do remember them, they're nightmares. I've decided today that I'm going to start learning how to lucid dream, and the first step is learning how to remember your dreams. You can do that by keeping a dream journal. I've had success with using a dream journal to remember my dreams way more in the past, so I'm going to start doing that again. I'll describe some dreams I've had in the past several months. Some of them are graphic, which I still don't really understand, because I'm not angry, violent, or depressed in real life. Some of them are too graphic or inappropriate for me to share here, and some of the ones that I do share I will probably need to censor somewhat. Still, if you think you would be offended by descriptions of violent/disturbing/graphic content, and sexual content, you shouldn't read this post. I will put a disclaimer by any dream that is especially inappropriate. "Mature content" dreams aren't graphic, but involve disturbing and/or violent content to a higher degree. "Graphic content" dreams are graphically violent or sexual in nature, but to keep this post within the rules of the forum I won't be describing anything too explicitly. If anyone can offer possible interpretations of any of these dreams, I'd greatly appreciate it. Ghosts and Death / Forest Adventure Into Nothingness / Murderer / Tortured Captive [graphic content] A Demonic Entity vs. My Inner Light / Demonic Woman Hidden In Darkness World War II In My House [mature content] Attacked By Hitler [mature content] Robot Sex [graphic content] Attacked By A Demonic Entity / Refuge In A Store [graphic content] Disgusting Evil [mature content] Meeting Internet Friends In Real Life If anyone could provide insight as to even just what one of these dreams might mean, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. Just to reiterate, despite the fact that most of these dreams that I've listed are disturbing and/or violent to different degrees, I am not violent, depressed, or angry in real life. So, I'm not sure what causes these dreams, but my guess is stress. Also, I do remember other dreams that were not as violent, but I've already written all of these, and I don't feel like typing a whole lot more right now.

That's awesome. I really love that paragraph you wrote, it is absolutely beautiful. Is your full fan fiction online? If so, I would love to read all of it. Could you please give me the link to it? Thanks.

Have you ever actually completed a game of Monopoly?
SCS replied to Moonlight's topic in General Discussion
I have, several times. A friend of mine went through a phase a year or two ago where he wanted to play Monopoly like, constantly. So, he'd invite me and a few other of our friends over on a somewhat regular basis to play Monopoly together. I also used to play it at my grandma's apartment sometimes.- 98 replies

Favorite Names (or what would you name your children)
SCS replied to Doctor XFizzle's topic in General Discussion
I'm not quite sure, but here are some ideas I can come up with at the moment. What I would possibly name my children if I have them someday (I hope I do) is not limited to the following lists. Boy: John, James, Jacob, Richard, Matthew, Mark, or Luke. Girl: Crystal, Autumn, or Grace. -
They're usually only fun for me if I'm playing them with friends. For me, scaring myself when I'm alone isn't a whole lot of fun, but it can be pretty fun when I'm with a friend or two. I wouldn't want to do that a lot, though.

I don't identify myself using any one thing, such as religion or a fandom. We are all complex, multifaceted beings. I am not religious, but I do have spiritual beliefs that do not adhere to any particular religion. The positive messages in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic are a part of that, but I certainly do not treat the show, or the fandom, like a religion.

How often do you change your username/avatar
SCS replied to NothingIsEverything's topic in General Discussion
I never change my username, ever, and I doubt I ever will. As for how often I change my avatar, that varies. Sometimes I get in this huge enthusiastic mood about changing my avatar, and other times I don't think about it at all. But, generally, I probably change my avatar at least once every 1-3 months. -

In what order do you watch the pony episodes?
SCS replied to Moonlight's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
When I first started watching the series, I watched the episodes in chronological order of release date, and then kept watching new episodes as they came out. When I rewatch episodes, I usually don't do so in any particular order, and I just rewatch whichever ones I feel like rewatching at the time. -
Favorite and Least Favorite Classes in School?
SCS replied to Moonlight's topic in General Discussion
My favorite classes in school are mathematics classes. My least favorite classes were foreign language classes. I still enjoyed them, just not as much as other classes. P.E. could be a pain sometimes, but other times it was really fun. Plus, my 9th grade P.E. experience was beyond fantastic. I love the teacher I had for that class so much. He was wise, intelligent, and kind. He didn't just teach us physical activities, he incorporated mental development into his class by helping to prepare us for the adult world. He is a wonderful guy, and a great influence in my life. I am honored to have been a student under him. I need to take one more P.E. credit in order to graduate, which I'll be doing in 12th grade. I took a break from P.E. in 10th grade, and I'll be doing that in 11th grade now as well. -
I'm glad you enjoyed Chemistry. At my school there are only two calculus classes: AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC. They require us to take AB before BC, so I plan to take BC in 12th grade. I love mathematics, though. In fact, I plan to major in it. So, for me, these classes are things to look forward to.

I've been learning taekwondo as part of the American Taekwondo Association for about 9-10 years. I reached the rank of 3rd degree black belt in April 2011, which is the highest rank a minor is allowed to reach. I hope to test for my 4th degree black belt in about 2-3 years from now. While I am turning 18 next year, it will take longer than that for me to complete the rest of my midterm testings, as well as fulfilling all of the requirements, and just feeling that I am truly ready for 4th degree black belt. I love taekwondo, and I plan to continue learning it throughout the rest of my life. I will also teach it one day, too. I may also consider learning other martial arts someday in addition to taekwondo, such as krav maga, judo, and jiu jitsu.

So far, my favorite high school science class is Advanced Physics, and my favorite high school math class is Pre-Calculus. I'm going into 11th grade next month, and I'll be taking Regular Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, and AP Statistics for my math and science classes. I'm not sure whether or not I'll enjoy chemistry class more than physics class, but I know I'll enjoy AP Calculus AB more than any other math class I have taken so far.

I can totally empathize with feeling like people are judging me at every angle. I get more confident as I get older though. A recent example would be how nervous I can feel when volunteering at a certain place. I often feel a stress/tension in my muscles when I do things, because I'm so scared of doing something stupid that would make people laugh at me or judge me. On the other hand, I'm starting to learn how to not worry so much about this stuff anymore through these experiences. Volunteering in a public setting was way, way out of my comfort zone, but I've come to really love it, and the more I do it, the less frightening it becomes, which in turn gradually increases my self-confidence overall over time.

I had an imaginary friend named Wabouwb about 8 years ago when I was in 3rd grade. The b in Wabouwb is silent. I don't remember whether or not I actually "interacted" with him a whole lot, but I do remember telling other people about him. I remember sitting at a table with some other kids and telling them about my imaginary friend named Wabouwb that lived in my kitchen ceiling. My dad tells me a funny story involving Wabouwb that I don't have a clear memory of. He said that me and other kids in 3rd grade were talking about Wabouwb so much that the teacher said that if she heard one more "Wabouwb," then there wouldn't be any recess.

lol, I don't know what half of those exercises are. I mainly exercise by doing taekwondo, and by taking some walks. I would like to incorporate some more exercise into my life though. Now I can just check this thread for ideas
