@zygen & kyoshi I'm glad you guys loved it too, and you're right. It's natural to worry about these sort of things. I'm just so glad it turned out well.

      i agree

I had that felling too when i heard about it that they will show it in theater.

  2. I haven't listened to the show myself yet, but my dad has told me about a lot of cool stories he heard on it. I might listen to it myself someday.
  3. In this post, I will discuss ten of my personal favorites of some of the world's greatest mysteries. Feel free to share your thoughts on them here, or post your own mysteries to share with others. The Voynich Manuscript The Voynich Manuscript is considered to be one of the greatest literary mysteries of all time. It is a book written in a language that no one knows. Experts dated it to the 1400s, during the early Renaissance. Experts have attempted to decipher it using modern computer-based cryptography technology, but so far they have been unable to do so. If I understand correctly, the farthest they have gotten so far is determining that there is probably an order and meaning to the text, and that it is not nonsense. But, the mystery does not stop there. This book, over 200 pages long, contains drawings of unknown plant species, astronomical diagrams and pictures (despite the fact that this was written before the invention of the telescope), and other very bizarre images involving females bathing in what are sometimes strange contraptions. You can download the entire book converted to a PDF file that is 53.6 megabytes. Please note that this book does contain drawings of nude women bathing. However, they are not drawn realistically, and are in an artistic and historical context. Therefore, I do not consider it to be inappropriate, but proceed with discretion. http://archive.org/download/TheVoynichManuscript/Voynich_Manuscript.pdf Sounds of Saturn On November 22nd, 2003, NASA picked up an intense and fascinating radio transmission from Saturn. It is similar to transmissions picked up from Earth. Due to that fact, it seems that it is probably not extraterrestrial beings talking, but regardless, it is a fascinating noise. The audio recording was shifted down by a factor of 44, so that it would be within the human range of hearing. You can read more information about it here: http://www-pw.physics.uiowa.edu/space-audio/cassini/SKR1/ You can listen to it here: http://www-pw.physics.uiowa.edu/space-audio/cassini/SKR1/SKR-03-324.wav You can download the audio file by saving that page to your computer. The "Wow!" Signal In 1977, a mind-blowing signal was received by Jerry Ehman, who was working on a SETI project at the Big Ear radio telescope. Big Ear recorded numbers representing how far above background noises a recorded signal went. This was on a scale of 1-10. Mr. Ehman saw something astounding: it recorded a signal so high that it went far beyond the 1-10 scale, and had to print down letters to represent it. The signal's intensity rose and fell over a period of 72 seconds. Mr. Ehman was so astonished, that he wrote "wow!" on the paper that the data was recorded on. The thing is, the source was not from a planet or a star. In fact, it was from deep space. So, the implication is that it came from an extraterrestrial space craft. Other theories have been considered, but if I understand correctly, scientists have yet to find an explanation for what the signal is. As far as I am aware, no repeat signals have been found yet. You can read more about it here: http://news.discovery.com/space/alien-life-exoplanets/the-wow-signal-130524.htm The Taos Hum In Taos, and other places, some people report hearing a constant buzzing noise. However, not everyone can hear it, and if I understand correctly, it has yet to be recorded on an audio device. This has had profoundly negative impacts upon people. For example, tragically, some people in the UK who experienced the phenomenon committed suicide. From what I have read about it, it sounds like a psychological condition. But, I have don't know for sure. You can read more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hum Aluminum Wedge of Aiud In 1974, a group of workers in Romania discovered three objects buried in the ground: two elephant bones that have been dated as old as 2.5 million years, and an aluminum wedge. The question is, is it a hoax? If not, it implies that either there were previous civilizations on earth that were just as or more advanced than we are, or it ended up there from an extraterrestrial civilization. The Baghdad Battery In ancient Persia, there were primitive batteries that were later discovered. The idea that an ancient civilization would have any level of knowledge of electricity astounds me. The 13 Billion Year Old Star Scientists discovered a star, which they called SDSS J102915 +172927. They believe it to be 13 billion years old. As they believe the universe to be about 13.7 billion years old, it is one of the oldest known stars. What makes it mysterious is that, according to our current understanding of science, its existence is impossible due to the elements it is composed of. The Vanishing Stardust Scientists observed stardust surrounding a star. When they checked up on that solar system later, the stardust had simply disappeared. It did not leave behind any planets, or indicators as to where it had gone. Angel Hair Angel Hair is a rare phenomenon that, as far as I am aware, still currently baffles scientists. It is long, silken strands of thread that rain down on the earth. However, if you touch it, it literally just disappears. There are several speculations as to what this is, but one important thing to note is that sightings of angel hair often go along with UFO sightings. Because of its sensitive nature, it has been difficult to collect and study. Pheonix Lights I am fascinated by UFO/extraterrestrial phenomenon in general, but one of my favorite examples would definitely be the Pheonix Lights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Lk5jRqbnIgY Please note that this is neither an all-inclusive list of all mysteries, nor all mysteries that I am interested in. You can share your thoughts on these here, or share other mysteries.
  4. That's way too much work, man. Over-working yourself isn't a good idea. I recommend quitting your family's business and just focus on what YOU want to do.
  5. I'd say that the scariest are the changelings, with the windigoes being in second place. Windigoes seem to be more powerful than changelings, but since they rely on hatred in order to have any power, they are probably extremely rare in Equestria nowadays. Also, changelings are able to conceal themselves much better, since they can shapeshift almost flawlessly. I think the majority of the method windigoes use to stay hidden is the fact that anyone who was giving them power would probably be too wrapped up in their hatred to notice them, especially since they seem to hide above the clouds. Thankfully, the changelings wouldn't stand a chance if they tried to attack Equestria again. What with Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Princess Cadence, and Prince Shining Armor defending Equestria, along with Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends holding onto the elements of harmony, they wouldn't get very far.
  6. Welcome to MLP Forums, Ryu! Apple Jack is awesome, but my favorite out of the mane 6 is Fluttershy
  7. Counted Posts: 402 Forum Lounge: 21 Forum Games: 19 Ask A Pony: I know I have a few here, but it's not enough to be on my graph. Total: Around 441
  8. Since the dawn of the Site Questions & Tech Support forum, I assume that the amount of support tickets the administrators receive has decreased. On average, how many support tickets do you receive on a regular basis, and how would that average compare to the amount you received before the implementation of that forum section?
  9. I understand that you are angry, but you don't need to be. Anger never solves any problems. You should just be straightforward and honest with your parents about this issue, while still being tactful. Don't say anything with the intention of hurting them, but at the same time don't sugarcoat what you have to say. Openness and honesty goes a long way to keeping any kind of relationship peaceful.
  10. No worries. I'm looking forward to this feature, but I don't mind waiting however long it will take for it to be implemented. Besides, I assume that it's not a top priority.
  11. Both the melancholic and phlegmatic temperaments could fit me. I don't like putting labels on myself or others, so I'll just say that I'm a mix of both. I honestly don't think that all of humanity can be categorized into those four groups. This is due to the fact that it is the groups that conform to human behavior, and not the other way around, as the groups were formed through the study of human behavior. Since there are over seven billion people on this planet, the vast possibilities and nuances in the spectrum of human behavior are far too complex to be precisely organized into four groups.
  12. Both the day and the night are beautiful. I am attracted to the mysterious, quiet, and serene nature of the night, as that fits with my interests. However, I do not feel that I could live without the day. I love the balance between the two, the harmony. I can neither imagine life without the serenity of night, nor can I imagine it without the lively, active bustle of day. The day is also beautiful in a different way. It is glowing, cheerful, and pretty. Therefore, I love both. I cannot choose one over the other.
  13. I am currently reading The Revenge of the Shadow King by Benz, Derek and J.S. Lewis. It was a novel that I read many years ago when I was a young child, that I am now revisiting. It has been a long enough period of time since then that I do not remember the majority of what happens in the story, but more comes back to me as I continue reading.
  14. I'm generally fairly laid back and tolerant about people and their behavior. Even if something does annoy me, I usually try to keep it to myself. If someone does or believes in something that I don't like or agree with, that doesn't mean I won't like the person just as long as they aren't harming themselves or others. However, there are things that I do not tolerate. I do not tolerate behavior that is intended to harm others emotionally and/or physically, which includes bullying, whether or not it takes place online.
  15. I generally cry far more from joy than from sadness. I have a great love for effective art and storytelling, so those can affect me emotionally. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic often brings me to tears of joy. As for crying due to problems in life, that is far less frequent. Thankfully, nowadays I rarely go through any serious emotional problems in the first place. In the past, when something happened that arose a significant negative response within myself, I usually just feel anger or sadness. When I do cry due to problems in life, it is usually after I have been going through acute stress for an extended period of time. There is nothing wrong with crying. It is a great way to relieve stress, but it is important to remember that it does not actually solve any problems you are going through. Crying can do a great job of relieving the initial stress, but then you have to take the next step to address the issue(s) that is/are causing the stress in the first place.
  16. I associate myself with the element Water. For as long as I can remember, I have had a deep love for water. I feel as if water is bound to my soul in love at a level that I am not consciously aware of until I stop and think about it. Water fascinates me, particularly the ocean. It has a romantic, artistic quality to it that I greatly appreciate. I also associate the ocean with the concepts of infinity and eternity. Often, when imagining realms beyond this physical universe, their primary element is an ocean, generally extending out to infinity in all directions about a centralized location.
  17. If I'm having a problem that I feel I need assistance with, I usually go to whomever I think could help me the most with it. For example, with serious personal issues, I would go to one of my close friends. The close friend could be someone I know either online or in person. Depending on the issue, I might also go to my parents. When I used to be depressed, I also saw a psychologist regularly. Thankfully, I am long past those dark times. On these forums, specifically, there are certain people I turn to when I need help. For general personal matters, I turn to Fizz or Orca, though I usually contact Orca elsewhere. They are two of my close friends. When I need spiritual guidance, I turn to thereisnospoon303, due to the fact that he is a graduate student in theology. Despite the fact that, unlike him, I am not a Christian, his wisdom has assisted me in times of need. When I have questions about life as an adult, I turn to Artemis, who I have identified as a person highly capable of giving excellent advice about such matters in the past. When I have questions about programming, I turn to feld0. When it comes to matters of a highly sensitive or personal nature, there are a small number of people who I feel comfortable sharing such information with. There are some matters that I would only discuss with a certain individual whom I have known in person for years, who is one of my best friends. Thankfully, the large majority of the time, I am not going through any serious problems. What I try to do when I do have an internal conflict is to address it myself through a multifaceted approach, consisting of positive thinking, reasonable thinking, and logical analyzation. When an internal conflict does become upsetting to a degree that would cause me to seek help from others, I find comfort in the fact that there are a wide variety of people I can turn to.
  18. It is a shame that truly worthwhile values are demeaned by society, and ascribed to the status of childhood - as if childhood were a negative thing. A willingness to do good in the world, cheerfulness, and optimism seems to be often looked down upon as naivety. Idealism is scattered to the winds. We all have some negative experiences in life, but some people choose to allow them to harden their hearts and cause them to don an attitude of disdain about idealism, automatically associating it with naivety or so-called childishness. The positive things in life are always there. I hope that, one day, society as a whole will realize that focusing on them instead of hardening your heart to them is a true path to maturity. As with most things in life, there must be a balance between idealism and realism. We should always strive for the ideal, while continuously maintaining clear awareness of the reality of the present. Whether or not the ideal is attained within a single lifetime, one would have gone much farther than if they had set their goals lower. My answer:
  19. The last time I did anything involving weights or other related exercise machines was back in 9th grade PE. Having just recently graduated 10th grade, that was awhile ago. I miss it, and I want to get back into it. I might take weights class when I'm a senior, and/or buy a membership at the gym. I'd rather do the latter, as I'd be able to do self-directed workouts instead of having to take a class for it.
  20. It depends. Oftentimes, primarily on the internet, I don't actually think about the voice, and I just process the words in my mind. Otherwise, especially when reading books, it's either my own voice, a generic voice, or a voice my mind invented for a particular character.
  21. I use gmail for my internet activities. I think it's the first email account I ever made, having registered it sometime in 2008 or 2009. I use outlook webmail for professional business. So far, the only thing I have used it for was my application I sent in to volunteer at my local library, but I plan to use it in the future on my cover letters and resume.
  22. I sometimes find melodic/folk death metal to be beautiful. I enjoy learning about and doing mathematics. The more complicated and abstract, the better.
  23. I have noticed that there is a LaTeX option in the Special BBCode menu - is it now available for use, or is it being tested?
