I'd like to get a handgun, a rifle, and an automatic or semiautomatic weapon. None of it would be illegal. I would also get armor-piercing ammunition, if that's still legal by the time I can afford it. These things would be purely for self-defense. I'd carry one of them on me concealed in public whenever it was necessary (and legal) to do so, and the rest I'd keep at home for home defense. I wouldn't go crazy and pull it out at the slightest thing, either. It's a last-resort type of deal. I also want to get nonlethal weapons like tasers and pepper spray to handle threats without having to kill anyone. I take an interest in weapons, armor, and defense systems, but I hate violence. Still, violence is unfortunately a necessary tool in this world sometimes when one needs to defend themselves, and it's a tool I will not hesitate to use when I need to defend myself, someone I care about, or any innocent person.

My parents, other family, and my true friends. That's about it. I usually feel like a burden to most people.

It's commendable and I'm glad you're on it, OP, but I'm not. I don't use any illegal drugs or anything right now, but I may some day, especially if things keep going as bad overall as they have been for a long time.

What would you do If mlp forums were taken down forever
SCS replied to Metallic Strings's topic in General Discussion
I would be very sad, but I'd move on and find something else to occupy my time. -
My heroes (both living and deceased) include, but are not limited to: Mr. Rogers Steve Irwin Mother Teresa Jesus Christ Buddha Bill Gates Seal Team 6, and the US military in general (not all the time) Law enforcement, firefighters, security and EMT Nurses and doctors

Would you rather speak every language or master every instrument?
SCS replied to Pone's topic in General Discussion
I would rather master every instrument. I could put together some sweet one-person album by recording different parts separately and make it exactly what I want it to be, or I could join any kind of band or music group I wanted. -
Which of the elements is most important to you in a friend?
SCS replied to Frostgage's topic in General Discussion
All of the elements of harmony are important to me in different ways and for different reasons, but overall I'd say kindness would come first, honesty second, loyalty third, laughter fourth, and generosity fifth. If I include the magic element, which I interpret as unity and the spark of life and joy, that would come first, and then the rest after that in the same order. -
I don't need a doppelganger bent on murder to defeat myself, because I already defeat myself on a regular basis on an emotional and spiritual level. Social phobia, depression, OCD, rage, and other issues I have constantly work against me and destroy the true me that's in there somewhere more and more. I'm still alive but life is hell far too often.

What are you guys Learning in School These Days?
SCS replied to ~Flash Brush~'s topic in General Discussion
I just finished "learning" about statics in AP Physics. I put that in sarcastic quotation marks because I horrendously suck at physics, I really don't understand any of it. Which is ironic because of how good I am at math. Something just breaks down somewhere in my understanding when I try to apply it to physics. I'm getting more practice with weight lifting in my gym class. We finished the actual BC curriculum (equivalent to calculus II) in my AP Calculus BC class a few weeks ago, and then we started into calculus 3 topics, which are from multivariable calculus. Just recently we wrapped up partial derivatives, directional derivatives and gradients, and soon we'll be taking a look at double and triple integration. Learned more about political parties in my US government class. Been reading selections from The Canterbury Tales in my advanced english class, which I love a ton. -
I had the worst nightmare! The Hungry Dead....
SCS replied to Silverhoof's topic in General Discussion
3spooky5me Seriously though, that dream sounds very intense and terrifying. I'm sorry you had to have it. I've had tons of extremely disturbing and graphically violent dreams, so I know how it feels. -
I never used AIM in the old days. I actually installed it last year to try to text a friend for free from my computer. It didn't work.

That's impressive but that also sounds pretty dangerous. You should talk to your doctor about whether or not that's a safe thing for you to do. Last time I tried to hold my breath for a long time, I don't think I even made it to a minute xD

I don't have a singular best day, but my favorite days are days I was able to spend with family and true friends, especially on vacations and during holidays.

Obscure but good tourism spots in US and Canada
SCS replied to Jimmy Page Fan's topic in General Discussion
, please be careful when you travel, especially if you are interested in obscure destinations. If a destination is obscure it is obscure for a reason. There are many benign reasons for why this happens, but there are just as many seriously dangerous reasons for why this happens. Just make sure to be very careful about where you choose to go, and adhere to basic safety practices. Don't allow yourself to be scammed, fooled, or hoodwinked by anyone. If something sounds too good to be true, it is. Travel with a few friends if possible, and arm yourself with both lethal and nonlethal weapons as long as you adhere to the varying laws presiding in the areas you visit. That out of the way, I'm sure you could find a lot of info about this by digging deep into the internet. As I said though, just be careful. Things like the movie Hostel might seem outlandish. And in reality, the likelihood of something like that happening is pretty damn low unless you go somewhere really bad. But the fact of the matter is that things like that, and worse, do happen in real life sometimes. Travel and have fun, I really want to travel a ton some day too. Don't live life in fear. Just be smart about what you do. Don't act without thinking. -
I haven't been in a real fight with anyone yet, but I've come close a few times. I've thrown and taken a few punches, shoves, kicks, and so on that didn't escalate into a genuine fight. I also launched someone into the air once who almost drowned me, probably without realizing what he was doing, when I was a little kid. Yeah, I got an adrenaline rush that day, and that's the physical explanation. But on a spiritual level, I still believe God or someone else out there saved me.

I can't sign the petition because I'm not in the UK, I just want to comment on this issue. I am all for gun rights but my main concern is national safety and preserving lives. I believe that gun rights are an important part of this, but only when done properly. The cornerstone of freedom is being able to defend yourself. If you cannot defend yourself, you are not free. That being said, you don't need armor-piercing rounds, fully automatic weapons, RPGs, tanks, or IEDs to defend yourself if you live in a civilized country. I'm okay with that gun being legalized for sporting purposes, I just hope that you all will be careful about what laws you push for. To put it briefly, be careful what you wish for. People should only be allowed to have the guns and ammunition they need to protect themselves in most any practical situation, and in a way that reduces the potential for mass murder, quiet assassinations, and so on as much as possible.

My current favorite is probably Ted the Caver. It doesn't rely on overused, tired tropes like many of the more popular creepypastas do. It's also very long and has tremendous build-up. It's not even scary for the first several paragraphs, but then oh boy does shit escalate. I've found a few good stories on the creepypasta wikia (including Ted the Caver), but a lot of the stuff there is pretty subpar. I generally find stuff that's more adult-oriented and intense on reddit. I also love the SCP wiki. The original writing project, not the one for the game. Most SCPs aren't very scary at all but it's fascinating, mind-bending stuff. A lot of it can be extremely creepy without being frightening in the traditional sense of the term.

What do you do if there's a huge spider/bug in your room?
SCS replied to Carbon Maestro's topic in General Discussion
I'd crush it with a shoe or any other reasonable object within my close proximity and then dispose of its remains. I dislike killing, even spiders and insects, but I have a right to defend myself and my family, so anything like that I catch in my house is dead. -
Anyone think coffee daily is truly a bad habit?
SCS replied to TheMarkz0ne's topic in General Discussion
Yes, drinking coffee daily is a bad habit. Caffeine is a drug like any other drug, it just happens to be socially acceptable. That doesn't make it safe. Sure, it's probably not as dangerous as H, molly or other hard drugs, but it's still harmful. That being said, I imbibe a ton of caffeine on a regular basis, so I'm not judging anyone here. It's harmful, but I honestly don't care. I am strongly considering cutting things like soda and coffee out of my diet though to get into better physical condition. -
Do any of you actually like bugs? If so, what kind?
SCS replied to J.R.'s topic in General Discussion
I love bugs, they're adorable. My favorite kind would probably be the ladybug. They're just so precious. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) -
There were many hilarious moments in tabletop RPGs I've done with friends IRL before. A few years ago I got a little too excited. A PG-13 summary of what went down in our RPG was that I did a lot of sexual things in hotels. More recently, there was plenty of hilarity involving my friend's constantly mocked "cure light wounds" ability, my pet weasel, and skeletons. Good times.

I think they're really cute. I don't have anything against them but it's just not something I'm hugely interested in, so I don't think I'd ever wear them unless I was going to an event with a few friends or something and we decided to do it together.

I'm not a Christian, but I go to a Christian church anyway, usually once or twice a month. It's a beautiful and tranquil place, and I get a lot of spiritual benefit and wisdom out of it even if my precise views don't agree with every major tenet of Christianity.

I know this feeling. I am also an only child. I'm not angry about that fact at all, there are many awesome things about being an only child, but I'm sure it contributed to the social phobia I suffer. However, I also suffered with it even when I was a little kid so I'm pretty sure I was also heavily predisposed to it genetically. It sounds like you don't have problems that severe though, and that's good. I don't mean to say that to marginalize your concerns at all, I'm just glad you don't have to deal with what I do, because it truly makes life a living hell. The best advice I can give you is practice. Socializing won't always go well, but the more you do it the easier it'll become. The main thing is to not care about what anyone thinks of you if it's bad and unconstructive. Just don't let it get to you. It's your life, not theirs. At the end of the day, anyone who tries to make you feel bad doesn't care about you at all, so there's no reason why you should care about what they think. I wish you the best.

I love the smell of rain, wetness, and bodies of water. I love the smell of fruit, baked goods, and other delicious food. I love the smell of my grandma's perfume. I love her so much. I could still smell it sometimes in her car she passed down to my family when she died. And then some idiot bitch who doesn't know how to drive or pay attention to anything slammed into the back of my dad and I and ruined the car. Never saw it ever again. It's gone forever.
