Ah, a tough decision for the phantom. That...would depend. Where I'd like to speak Afrikaans, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, Korean, and maybe French perfectly... I'd also like to be able to play guitar, piano, flute, drums, and various other instruments I can't think of right now. Probably language over instruments for the most part. -
It's a whole new place, with a brand new attitude! But you still gotta catch 'em all! ...but no, seriously, I don't see them changing it that much, personally. Unless they revamp the revamp, in which case...*shrug* They have some pretty good composers, I'm sure it'll be decent either way.

Classic PS2 FES edition. =w= Just finished my first playthrough with Magician, Moon, Devil, Justice, Star, Empress, and Lovers maxed (besides the obvious Judgment/Fool). Also curbstomping Nyx with my godly Messiah. Gonna do my NG+ soon so I can complete every Social Link.

...if this is anything like Touhou or Ikaruga, I may keep an eye on this. Personal suggestion: different bullet types based on the 7 deadly sins, as well as different sub-bosses and bullet patterns reminiscent of the sin they represent. Sloth would be funny as all hell, especially since you could play around with it to the point where it's a slow, extremely dense WALL of bullets falling down at you. -

Funny I find this thread; I ran into one earlier this week while, oddly enough, I was wearing my Homestuck Dave ensemble. He came over, complimented me on my choice of apparel, and mentioned that he was also in the pony fandom after seeing my bracelet and bag pins. Had a short discussion with him about Season 4, was a pretty chill guy. Besides that specific example, yeah, I've run into quite a few, though the hype has died down considerably the past few years... -
I'd say that would be fine; most consider relations to canon characters sort of Mary-Sue/Gary-Stuish, especially because they're one of the core elements of what makes up a series. There's also the fact that ANYBODY can ship them, and people sometimes...flip out when their favorite character is shipped with a random OC. I personally keep OC/canon relations in a pseudo-canon/fanon that I've developed, that has no direct connection to the main medium, and don't bother really considering it my main headcanon that I use for online RPing and the like. Considering the case of being Fleur's cousin...that might fly better than being married to Rainbow Dash, for example. This is taking into account the fact that she's a minor/background character, but there MIGHT be one or two people against it. Not a whole flock. Coming from a Sonic forum where most people had OCs that were direct clones of the main characters, or could obtain the same POWER as said characters, you learn that it's...really a terrible habit to get into. The same applies to having power that could trump the most powerful character in the series, no matter what they throw at you. ...the latter case is a bit off-topic, but I hope I've given you some insight.

He'd seen ponies with bright-colored hair at his shows, but most of them had been...mares. Some of which he had decided to hit on and failed horribly. It was funny, in a way. There was also a growing part of his mind that absolutely wanted to accept Stellar's challenge, especially since it was starting to look like the stallion was trying to show him up. And he wasn't even trying to hide it. Nevertheless; he wasn't going to back down from a challenge when mares were involved. "Could be fun; I'd say let's wing it." The pegasus snickered, clearly not intending the pun. "That is, if the ladies don't mind." He snuck a wink at Moonstruck, setting his guitar case down by the cue rack.
