Of course, you can rate in whatever way you want, you aren't restricted to one method. I should have made it clear that rating based on personal enjoyment is by far the most common way of rating, and people shouldn't be like "DATS DEH RONG WAY OF RAETING >:CCCC"

I've been told a lot of times from people around the forums that the stuff I like "isn't music" and that my taste is garbage. But that seems to be completely fine in this case, and I get labeled as an "elitist". That's fair And people calling Drone metal "not music" are equally as snobbish as the people who claim that pop "isn't music". The vast majority of mainstream music is just bubblegum music; It tastes good when chewing it, but you can't swallow it and digest it. In other words: Shallow music has a tendency to be popular, so that's the main reason why you often find us giving mainstream lists a bad rating. The melancholy part isn't completely accurate though I also like Purple and Pink a lot, but those descrptions didn't fit me at all, not even in the slightest
