I haven't dismissed the entire genre, I just haven't found much I like, though I've found an artist or two that appeals to me)

Oh. Try Panopticon then if you liked the instrumentation. The screams aren't as pained as in Oceanic, and there's A LOT less vocals in Panopticon

@Kyouko I enjoyed more songs from Wavering Radiant than I did on Panopticon so that's why I prefer it

I never pay attention to individual songs when I listen to ISIS. How consistent the entire album is as a whole in terms progression and texture is my main focus when listening to any post- genre. That's why I like Panopticon so much

  11. Fixed it for you (((((; OT: I like anime (durrrrrrrr), and my favorite ones include Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, Minami-Ke, Angel Beats and YuruYuri. YuruYuri is my all time favorite though
  12. I have.... mixed feelings to say the least. One part of me is super excited to see their new album, hoping it will be anything like their debut. The other part of me however, dreads that this will be another PJ album that kind of leaves me disappointed Ever since they kind of tried to leave their "sell-out" image after their debut, they've gradually become less and less interesting. Not to say that they've completely lost their glare, but I don't think Lightning Bolt will have that same amazing production, lyrics and vocal delivery from Vedder that Ten had...... god, the vocals..... Don't get me wrong though, Pearl Jam has released good stuff since Ten, but they aren't a very consistent band. My expectations aren't sky high, so I'm not putting all my faith in Pearl Jam to save the music year of 2013. The two singles are good/okay, I like Mind Your Manners Bottom line: I'm definitely listening to this as soon after the release I can. But I'm not expecting this to be their best effort or anything like that Note that this is just my opinion, don't take it to heart
  13. Not the dumbest thing I've ever read, but definitely the most ignorant music related statement I've ever read. So, the word "literally" wasn't misused, and even if it was, "ignorant" is a too strong word to use against a person who just misused a single word. Irony This is beyond the point. Did I EVER agree, disagree with or even quote this? Hint: I didn't. This is the problem: As said, "American music" is an extremely vague term. All it implies is that the music is, well...American. But how can you judge a band purely on their nationality? How is nationality related to quality? And another thing that I previously said: It's not like every single American band ever plays a single genre. There's hundreds of genres, sub-genres and fusion genres that thousands of different bands from USA plays. The term is so vague that it's completely invalid in any context or debate And this is the second thing that bothered me. What you're saying here is that a person who just isolates themselves with a single genre has better taste than someone who is willing to get out of their comfort zone to try out and appreciate other forms of music. Where's the logic? And no American band has ever managed to do this? PS: When responding, please quote my post. It's way easier for me to keep track on whether you've responded or not
  14. How is the nationality of a band related to quality? This is literally the dumbest thing I've ever read, especially since you're being so unspecific. "American music"? You do realize that not every artist from USA all play the exact same genre, right? And to address the "you have no taste" part, could you explain? Like, where's the logic? Because someone enjoys a wide array of genres, they all of a sudden don't have any taste? If anything, people who listen to anything has better taste than people who isolate themselves with a single genre
  15. I finally feel motivated
