  1. 7/10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlKCxSDUOrU
  2. Not quite.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8F5YSA1Oz0 By the way, listen to Repercussions, I personally think that's Distance's finest work to date There are a lot of Grindcore bands who choose not to take the "gore path" with their music I agree, it's a musically great genre, but a lot of people just take the wrong approach to it. That's a real shame, as many people just assume that Anal Cunt is the only band in the genre and just ignores all the gems
  3. His rapping is horribly off-beat - 4/10
  4. Adding to what Moog said: Music where computers play a big role in the production and composition opens a lot of possibilities to experiment for the producer Prime example: Since I Left You by The Avalanches. This album was made purely out of samples. The group used a total of 3500 samples to create this masterpiece. It takes a lot of creativity, originality and talent to create something so masterfully composed, well-thought, fresh and well sounding
  5. Hey, we never said your opinion is shit. We're simply trying to spin this in a different light for you, because you're really missing out on quite the experience
  6. Any musician, whether it be a band, an artist, a composer, extremely avant-garde musicians etc. If they make music, they may be included
  7. I understand why people dislike it, it's very different from what you're used to hearing. But you're missing the point of live shows: It's about seeing your favorite band playing in front of you, experiencing the energy live, having fun, getting in moshpits (if it's aggressive) and experiencing music in a completely different way
  8. You can do this as many times as you want. And I wasn't very clear with it in the OP, but I just wanted you simply list the artists in no particular order, not according which one you like the most (I'll edit the OP)
  9. I'm using last.fm to keep track of that, since I often listen to music on my phone, and the counter sometimes resets on Winamp (a bug or something). I've only used last.fm for a week or so though, I've mostly been listening to entire album rather than individual tracks. But here it goes: 1. Nijine - Kirishima Shouko (25 times) 2. Arcade Fire - Reflektor (17 times) 3. Arcade Fire - Ready To Start (16 times) 4. Brand New - Snowing Season (Yeah) (12 times) 5. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs (11 times) 6. Neutral Milk Hotel - Holland, 1945 (9 times) 7. Nine Inch Nails - Mr. Self Destruct (9 times) 8. Arcade Fire - Suburban War (8 times) 9. Neutral Milk Hotel - Communist Daughter (7 times) 10. Yukari - Just Friends (7 times)
  10. You guessed it, one of these threads has finally reached this place. The concept is rather simple List your 10 favorite artists in no particular order and then answer the questions below. (List the artists before reading the questions, it'll make things a lot more interesting) If you don't have 10 favorite artists, you may narrow the number down to whatever amount suits you, but 10 is the maximum amount allowed. If you listed less than 10 artists, simply skip the question(s) related to the number(s) you decided to skip Here's the format and the question. Copy pasting is recommended (durrrrururuururur) "Number 1", "number 5" etc refers to the artist you listed at said number Also, it would be nice if you hid your answers with spoiler tags, makes it easier for people to scroll down My answers: If you want to, you can do this more than once if you feel like you left out on some artists you really like
  11. I love the singing and instrumentation, but the lyrics..... needs some improving - 7/10 Very solid song, I love the speed - 7.5/10
  12. Aw shiet, I forgot about Crust Punk, props to the both of you for posting some of the best Crust Punk bands out there But my favorite is and always will be Black Breath Swedish Crust Punk. It rocks
  13. Some Spanish, alt-rock driven Shoegaze with an undertone of electronic. It's a really nice addition to the Shoegaze scene, might very well be one of my favorites albums in the entire genre. It's also very dreamy and quite poppy as well
  14. Those bands are actually extremely mainstream. A lot of playtime on the radio doesn't equal mainstream success, sales and popularity do. Since all of those bands top the charts (Skillet has one album certified platinum and one certified gold, while TDG got two albums which has been certified platinum and one certified gold. Red has been nominated for two grammies.) The only reason these bands doesn't get as much radio playtime as Miley Cyrus or Lady Gaga is because they're not as radio-friendly. TDG is a bit too angsty to the played on radio, but the rest gets moderate playtime from what I've heard Also, how can a person not like mewithoutYou? Dawn just showed you their harder-to-grasp album There's good mainstream stuff still to this day. I'll admit that the majority is garbage though And there was crappy mainstream music back in the 50's and 60's too
  15. Every decade has their up and downs, like some people have already stated. I personally dislike the idea of restricting myself to one decade. I just like good music so I just stick to whatever I like no matter when it was produced The same few notes and chords over and over can be very fun at times Just saying
  16. I like Johny Cash. That's about it though - E Soundgarden - Outshined Kode9 - Dislokated Veil of Maya - Unbreakable Ghostface Killah - Nutmeg (Ft RZA) Sufjan Stevens - The Seer's Tower
  17. love me some Iceage - 7.5/10
  18. Can't really have a punk thread without mentioning Television, they're the pinnacle of Post-Punk Man, Adventure doesn't even come close to Marquee Moon, but it has some great tracks nonetheless Also, Refused and their masterpiece The Shape Of Punk To Come
  19. Blink 182 and Sum 41 certainly aren't related to Emo in any way. Besides, Emo doesn't take any inspiration from Pop Punk or vice versa. Some bands like to mix them in their own sound, but neither genres originated from each other. Emo takes inspiration from Hardcore Punk, Post-Hardcore and Indie Rock, while the stylistics origins of Pop Punk are fairly obvious Post-Punk. Sounded really weird at first, but it grew on me Meh, someone was going to post Joy Division sooner or later
  20. These guys....... guise.... Also, I gave that new Paysage d'Hiver album a try. If you like Drone and Atmospheric Black Metal, this is right up your alley. It's such a chilling, cold, dark and haunting experience http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeWQrrCN8jU
