I think it's much worse than people are willing to admit.

One significant flaw I can agree with is that Sunset was a crappy villain

The plot meanders about with little consistent sense of conflict, the writing is subpar in comparison to the rest of series, and the animation is unappealing.

      It's poopy.

  2. Funny thing, I actually thought about how MLP should totally do a noire episode awhile back. Yeah, it's be like Chinatown, but, y'know, Ponyville, and Spike would be Jake Nicholson and Rarity would be Faye Dunaway. And that's totally be a part where he gets bonked on the nose and he has a bandage over it, just like in the movie. But then I realized that would imply some very dark things about Rarity and Sweetie Belle, so I dropped it.
  3. Ya'll SoarinDash shippers got some material today. "If you weren't talking to her, you'd be talking to me. About matters of heart, and crap. Or something."
  4. Wait, wait, WAIT. It was the random character who was only just now introduced and whose guilt will not make a difference to the show in the long run?! That's...really predictable, actually. Not as bad as everyone on a train eating a cake, though. Cute episode. Some funny moments, nice soundtrack. Wish the mystery was better.
  5. So it isn't so much a crime so much as being a jerkass.

      Hoo boy sounds like fun

  6. Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with everybody about the ending. What was the joke? She's fat? That's still funny? Why were her eyes yellow? Was she as high as the writers were when they wrote that?
  7. I really dig the concept behind the episode. An artist struggles to maintain a creative spirit and interest in their work after hitting it big and people just want the same thing over and over again, which in and of itself makes that product less special. That's a mature story to explore, and Rarity is the perfect character to do it with. The episode itself is just alright, though. Takes too long to have a conflict, the song isn't the best, and Sassy Saddles isn't a very memorable character. Perhaps they could have stood to be more subtle about evwryrhing, but it's My Little Pony we are talking about, so that's par for the course.
  8. We're 10 minutes in, and I'm not quite sure what the conflict is here.

  9. I for one welcome our Pokemon overlords.

  10. I heard "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" on the radio and I now I have the urge to play through Bioshock: Infinite again.

  11. Twas a day. Twas a lovely day.

  12. Comes out on Blu-Ray/DVD tomorrow. I eagerly await the opportunity to watch it over and over and over again.

  13. Everything scared me as a kid. Literally everything. I remember even being freaked out by The Mask at a younger age. I was a wuss, you see. But top honors go to Large Marge from Pee-Wee's Big Adventure and Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit, which scared me so much that I refused to watch those movies through most of my childhood. I had walked in on the end of Roger Rabbit, so for years my only frame of reference was that weirdo trying to kill poor Eddie Valiant, and it took my awhile before I ever found out if Pee-Wee ever got his bike back. I also had no problem with that. Jim Carrey mugging in green make-up is too much, but a shrieking melting skull was just fine by me.
  14. The Aqua Teen Hunger Force finale was oddly emotional.

  15. Truly, they were...Little Ponies.

  16. Tom Baker, the Fourth Doctor, is gonna be in something Star Wars related, making him the second Doctor to do so.

  17. Crystal Empire. Dude's their prince now, isn't he? And even without that information, I'd assume he'd side with his wife. The last time we saw him in Canterlot was "Twilight's Kingdom," and that's only because Cadence was hanging out there.
  18. Actually, females tend to hit puberty earlier on than males, unless there's something about the development of equine species that I'm not aware of. Frankly, I'm not sure I want to do research on how ponies hit puberty, nor am I sure it applies to a race of ponies that can shoot magic out of their foreheads and open doorknobs with their hooves. And despite apparently being in the same grade (or lower) as Rarity when she was a filly, Cheerilee is depicted as an older teacher, and Celestia & Luna, the 1,000 year olds, do not look like Donovan at the end of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I don't think it's EQG is an accurate depiction of ages. Or anything at all, really.
  19. I hypothesized that he was around 10 when the show began, and if my guess that at least three years have passed since then, he'd be 13, give or take a year. I don't think he's literally a baby, at least by our standards. Keep in mind that dragons can live for thousands of years, so what they consider to be a baby is different from what we consider a baby. Let's approach this scientifically, people. As for the question as to Twilight's age when she hatched Spike/got her cutie mark brought up by @@cider float and @@SpikusFyre, I'm guessing 9 years old. I place her as one of the younger of the Mane Six along with Rainbow Dash, as the former was depicted as a magical prodigy and would probably get her cutie mark sooner than others, while the latter more or less rushed her cutie mark. That'd make her 19 when the show started and thus ten years older than Spike. Of course, this is more based on silly head-canon and the instincts of a bored nerd with nothing better to do and less on cold hard facts. I don't know nuttin' about no internships or PhDs.
  20. They use animatics at panels regardless of the episode being done or not. Part of the whole teaser preview thing they're going for.
  21. Flash Sentry is history's greatest monster. He who is responsible for the drying of the wells and decay of Mother Earth. He who sits on a throne of lies and smells of beef and cheese. He who deflated the balls and corrupted the great American sport of footed ball for all time. He who took your mom out for a nice sushi dinner and never called her again. He has stupid hair and I don't like him. Probably would have helped if he didn't have the personality of a soggy popsicle stick.
  22. Love the little guy. Doesn't always get the respect he deserves from the writers, but he's pretty great when used right. Cathy Weseluck is the most underrated VA on the show, and I always like it when the shows draws on his personal quest to find a place in the world as the child of two completely separate worlds. "Equestria Games" is great as is, I tell ya w'hat.
  23. If only it was that commendable. I'm guessing the episodes are mostly done at this point. Discovery Family is just being a supreme butthead about it and forcing a hiatus so they can spread whatever new episodes of whatever shows they have throughout the year, as new episodes mean ad revenue, and no new episodes mean no ad revenue. Why do you think that horrible Jungle Book show "premiered" (after syndicating in South Africa and Disney Junior) on the weekend right after the last new episode?
