      Nah-Greedo never even got a twitch in before he was toasted. God I loved that movie-first saw it in class, believe it or not. They'd just bought a video player-no record capacity, and wheeled it into the classroom. We all thought it would be some boring crap, then "A Long Time Ago In A Galaxy Far Far Away..." WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!! And so was born a lifelong love of sci-fi.

      Dayum. Talk about "coolest teacher ever". Most interesting non-educational movie I was ever shown at school was Toy Story. Great movie, yes, but it sure as hell ain't no Star Wars.

      As a matter of fact, he was kind of cool. He once wrote on one of my report cards that: 'He sets himself extremely low standards, which he then fails to live up to'. I thought it was funny, my parents less so. After Star Wars, I would have forgiven him anything anyhow. I met him in the pub a few times after I left school and had a beer with him-super articulate and very smart.

      It was good. Cast does a great job selling everything, and Godzilla is pretty much perfect. But there's not nearly enough of him, and it may surprise you with which era of the original series it draws from.

    Okay, so having your rouge character shoot first is not okay, but having the main character of your supposedly more kid-oriented new trilogy massacre a bunch of kids on screen is okay?

      That one is a bit understandable, to be honest. Spielberg was a grandfather at that point, and he was a bit uneasy with the scene where the guys point shotguns at the little kids. And he changed it back, at least.

      Jar Jar aside, I'm really disappointed by the lightsaber duels. Yeah, I thought they were the best thing ever *as a kid*, but now that I know a lot more about swordplay, I realize that the choreography of those duels was redundant and often times stupid. Especially all the twirls; why would you EVER expose your back to an opponent?

      lol I remember watching Revenge of the Sith had one REALLY unnecessarily lengthy spin during the final duel

      Yeah. The fight scenes in Empire and Return were awesome because actual thought went into how they played out. The first time Luke fights Vader, you can tell Luke is just barely staying on his feet while Vader is toying with him, and it gets more intense as Vader realizes that the kid is good and he has to step up his game. In Return it's just straight up fury with Luke wailing on the guy.

       

      In the prequels is just a game to see how many twirls/saber-touches they can pull off.

    Sometimes I think back to when I wasn't insane, and I didn't think Doctor Who turned into a horse and another horse with an eye condition made a good couple, and it makes me sad, because I know my dad would much rather had have me like sports or something.
