  1. My bed rests right below my window. I don't think there is any way I could re-arrange my room for it to count as away from the window =P
  2. Kids next door was GREAT. they had so many good shows I don't know if I'm allowed to choose just one. Dexter's lab, cow and chicken, courage the cowardly dog, foster's home, powerpuff girls, ed edd n eddy, samurai jack, grim adventures of billy and mandy. 90s-00s was a GREAT period for cartoons.
  3. Well chosen. One of the best platformers of all time. Like stormz I play too many to list them all. I think about what mood I'm in, and play something off of that. It makes it so I enjoy what I play a lot more. I'm a huge classic gamer. i still have my atari2600 nes, and snes from when I was younger, and still buy games for them I want to add to my collection all the time. Favorite game of all time has to be Seiken Densetsu 3, but psychonauts rivals it pretty closely. Gaming is just generally what I do though, I incorperate it into my own ideas, thinking of what is good and bad about them, and why. What works and doesn't work. They ARE what I enjoy most, and what I want to make, after all. The last few days I've been playing a little of a lot of different games though.
  4. 1,962 files and counting. I also have the entirety of the safe selection of ponibooru downloaded from the old torrents, and need to go through. I've been putting it off because it's a MASSIVE undertaking...
  5. I think as long as you provide some kind of positive with the negative, making them generally equal. You'll be pretty safe. I know when I was younger I used to get hurt a lot more by negative critique, and any time people gave me anything positive, even with negative, I felt like what I did was worthwhile, and continuing to do it was worth it. That's a good quote, I quite like it Slaps are for sure necissary for improvement when you hit a block. Negative critique is super useful. And, you may not have sensitive feelings, but I've had people get really pissed off at me for things like that in the past, so I prefer to make sure. edited: curse my terrible lazy spelling, thanks sunset spark for correcting me.
  6. My name was onced used in the "is a pretty cool guy, and doesn't afraid of anything" meme on a forum I used to go to, 5 years after I left it. That made my day when I saw it. But nicknames wise. My mom calls me Budgie, because I used to whistle a lot as a kid. It's something I've always liked.
  7. I'm not a girl, but I'd like to comment on this. I wont vote on the poll, since I'm not a girl though. I don't think it really matters. All of us are just fans of the show! Whatever you want to call yourself, as long as you consider yourself a part of the community, you're a (insert preferred term here) to me. I prefer the term brony as all encompassing. edit for spelling, and my cursed doubling of the wrong letters in words..
  8. I understand that, but not everybody has a stalwart barrier of confidence they can improve, for some it's them stepping deeply out of their shell. You may be able to take it with stride, and be a little sad while you take it into account, but others may not be able to. Some people shrivel back up with too much negativity, even if it isn't inteded by the person giving the critique. I've known people that they've completely stopped drawing, or writing because all they got out of the things they actually posted, which they were most proud of, was negative critique. But to answer about hidden beauty, not all people post about things they like. They go "this is what I don't like" and even though they like things they don't notice/post because they think it's normal and not needed to be commented on. I try to say everything I like before I say what I dislike. You and I might do that, and try to provide positive in everything we say, but not all people do. Also: as I said before, so many people just breeze by things and not posting, and the artists miss out on a lot of points of view, sometimes getting very little posts because their art is "ok, but not great" This is the point I'm at. My art isn't horrendous, but it isn't fantastic. As a result, SO many people just blow past it, so I've gotten a little stuck with my art. I keep practicing, of course, and that makes some headway over time, but hearing people's opinions is always nice, and confidence raising that I'm not just wasting time. Also also: please don't think this is all directed at you like I'm assuming a lot in what you say, some of it is just me trying to clarify what I said before with more words, and slightly deeper formed opinion.
  9. Photo Finish is an earth pony. She's rich, and tremendously talented at something that has NOTHING to do with farming. She's the best example of how the classism idea is just something people injected into the show. It's not there at all, but I can see the evidence, and what appears to be supportive of it, I just don't think that's the case at all.
  10. True, but too much negative critique, without any positive critique can easily cause people to be disuaded, like what their doing isn't worthwhile at all. I feel everybody's art is worthwhile, especially if it leads to improvement. Carefully planning words is still important. what's even worse is when there aren't replies at all, it doesn't help the artist in any way, and sometimes leaves them feeling like their art wasn't worthwhile enough to comment on at all. When most of the time it's just people aren't sure what to say.
  11. I was much the same way in highschool, and I always got in trouble. What they didn't seem to understand is I still heard and learned everything they said. Any time they'd try to call me out I'd answer them calmly, making them look a fool. I really like them by the way. I always liked just starting random stuff and it ending up unusual like this. They all look quite nice.
  12. She's really cute, and looks really sweet (forgive the pun) I really like her color scheme. I would like to see more of her for sure.
  13. I usually praise what I like, then if they asked for critique, give the proper critique, as a fledgeling artist myself, I don't always have much to offer, but I offer what I can, but I stil and think about what I'm saying to make sure it isn't something that they might pride themselves in. as for large topics, I find it tough to post in thiem sometimes, but if it's a thread asking for thoughts, I state my thoughts, even if others have already posted them in order to add to the pile of opinions of that type. I'll at the very least read the last 2 pages or so, to see if there is a current conversation going on that I would like to contribute to.
  14. I don't think so. there are hundreds of random ponies that get toys. twilight isn't going anywhere, she wont be replaced at all. even the "ponyville essentials" minis pack, has a ton of random ponies that have never shown up in the show. the toys are the toys, I don't think they indicate anything in the future. even if they do, I don't think it'd be easily predictable.
  15. It's not just the show. the show by itself is pretty standard with it's morals. It's the community that revolves around it that emphasizes these things, and these teaching. It makes those changes stick. at least that's what it is for me.
