but before I went to xubuntu, I wanted to try other small linux OS's to get the most out of my 7 year old laptop. I tried Mint, Puppy, and a few others (most didn't last a day) and then finally Xubuntu.
But then my HDD finally crashed ('bout dang time, cuz I was at half capacity). With a new HDD came a new OS, and I was suggested by a friend a RedHat distro instead of Debian. So I got Fedora because it uses Gnome, not Unity.
I've grown so accustomed to Gnome that I don't really like anything else. Although Fedora doesn't offer as much as Ubuntu, it's so much...cleaner...than Ubuntu. But I got 18, which 'dies' on the 14th of this month, so I had to upgrade, and it didn't work quite right ugrading via terminal.
