Treble Bolt

we don't have smoke detectors anymore....never work when you WANT them to (what they are meant for, had this happen), and work when there is no reason for it. Plus the batteries die often, so they drive you nuts. Carbon Monoxide detectors are better IMO (the plug in kind). I wish I could drive tractor 18 hours...never worked on a crop farm, but I love tractors (Steam Engines are better). I drive our family tractors to farm shows (one is a 2 hours drive)

My husband's parents stopped farming because in Iowa, it's "Go big or go home." all the farms here are corporate conglomerates and there is no room for the small family farm. It got so bad that his family lost money farming overall (no profit by the end of the year), so they had to stop. anywhoo...We have old tractors, an Oliver 77, a '65 John Deere Combine, A "B" John Deere, and an IH 1086...the Combine and Oliver we show at tractor shows, the B we want to, be the wheel wells are cracked and my husband and I haven't had time to cast weld on them to make it safe again, but it'll be a showpiece again soon enough I have never driven the behemoths that are out there now, but I'd sure love to XD
