Winterglade couldn't help but to giggle like a schoolfilly hearing Fender's blatant flattery, but she accepted it nonetheless. She buried her face in his fur. "Oh you silly casanova," she murmured while rocking back and forth slightly. She felt much better than she was ten minutes ago. "We can talk to them tomorrow. Right now I'm sure that my sister is trying to calm them down." "Anyway... Maybe we should get some place to sleep for the night? Unless you fancy sleeping under the stars, we should start searching for some inn," she asked.
-
Winterglade silently cursed herself for forgetting that Fender hadn't had any luxury of parents for a good portion of his life. She felt absolutely terrible. Fender had been so caring for her, and now she forgot about him. She returned the nuzzle, "I'm sorry..." Winterglade laughed almost heartily at the quick kiss. Her cheeks now flaring. It definitely felt nice to have somepony caring and supporting you when you're down "Yes, I'll be fine." She moved closer to the stallion, savoring his precious body heat. "Thanks. I'm sorry I forgot about your... I should have been thankful that at least they are still alive." The mare sighed. She was still tired beyond all reasons, but with Fender on her side she felt safe. She rested her head on his shoulder. "You shouldn't worry too much about my mother. My brother and sister should be more than enough to afford her medications now. The offer is much appreciated, but I doubt my father would accept it with an open mind." She looked upwards. The night sky above the clouds looked positively enchanting, hundreds of stars twinkling peacefully, without a single care on what happened below the heavens. "The stars, they're beautiful aren't they?"

Winterglade didn't flinch when Fender landed on her cloud. She pressed her face to the downy cloud, trying to obscure her face from the stallion. She nearly jumped from the sudden back rub, but soon her tensed wings relaxed from the gentle touch. The mare hiccuped. "It's... fine," muttered Winterglade, face still pressed onto the cloud. She didn't want to talk about it, but she knew that keeping Fender out of the loop wouldn't do any good. She took a deep, long breath before raising her head from the unnaturally comfortable cloud. "My father said that it was my fault that I my mother got sick. I left him working alone in the weather factory about... three years ago. I thought that my father would be enough to take care of my mother. I was wrong." Everything felt cold to her coat. The cloud thankfully had drifted away from her house, carrying the two away from prying eyes. Her hooves felt so weak, she had a hard time trying to push herself to a sitting position. The night wind stung her freshly reddened eyes "Fender?" she asks. "Any ideas on what should I do? It feels like... Everything I'm trying to do always ends up a huge failure." She stomped a hoof to the edge of the cloud in frustration, a small part of it broke into a lump of snow that soon fell to the ground below. E: Gotta go now. See you tomorrow!

Hot Wing didn't give out any reaction from Fender's attempt to make a joke, but he allowed himself a thin smile when Fender said that it was a privilege to have her in his life. At least Fender seemed to be sincere in his words. "Then I'm-" A pillow appeared out of nowhere and slammed to Hot Wing right in the face with a loud thump. The stallion lost his cool and nearly shouted in frustration, but stopped as soon as he saw who was the culprit. "You should stop scaring our guest, Wing. He spent most of the day sitting in a cramped train cabin, he doesn't need you to tire him any more." The cerulean mare from earlier trotted from the still closed door and took a seat next to her brother. Next to each other, the two pegasi looked rather intimidating. Both of them are well above Winterglade in term of size. Hot Wing didn't make any move to return the sudden attack, but his irritation was palpable in the air. "Oh, and nice to meet you, Fender! I'm Autumn Glow, Winterglade's big sis. I'm sure Wing here already introduced himself so we can skip him. Winterglade wrote so much about you in her last letter. You sounds like a great fella. Thanks for taking care of my sis!" the mare said cheerily. Hot Wing muttered something under his breath, but Autumn Glow didn't seem to notice it. She continued, "Anyhow, I want to talk to you about something, you see..." Autumn Glow took a breath to recollect her mind, but a stallion's shout from the room next door interrupted her line of thoughts. Another loud scream, but this time it was from a mare. Hot Wing and Autumn Glow visibly tensed on their seats. After three seconds of silence, the door opened. Autumn Glow facehoofed "Oh dear." Winterglade slowly walked out from the room. She looked back into the room and said, "I'm sorry," before she broke a trot. Her head hung low, her cape looked a bit roughed. She trotted straight to the front door and through it without making any attempt to call out for Fender or any of her siblings. Outside, finally alone, Winterglade fluttered to a nearby cloud and slumped down on it.
-
The ash gray stallion's eyes followed Fender as he trotted in and closed the door. He had read some of the Winterglade's letters, and a great deal of them were referring to a pegasus stallion. The description matched with the one that was standing before him. "You can call me Hot Wing," the stallion introduced himself, his voice flowed coldly. He motioned with his head to a nearby plush chair. "Please, have a seat. I'm Winterglade's older brother. I have heard a lot about you from her letters." Hot Wing stared the door at the far end of the room for a brief moment before turning back to Fender. "So I've heard that Winterglade has started to live together with you, I assume you have been treating her well?" He looked straight at Fender's eyes. Hot Wing wasn't exactly a big stallion, but his sitting stance nearly mirrored that of a beast before striking its hapless prey.

(Time to meet the family!) Winterglade's eyes wandered around the horizon. Her jaws clenched shut. She was about to say something before she finally sighed in resignation. "I hope you're right. It's just... I don't know for sure. Me and my father weren't exactly on good terms when I left. I hope he can forgive me." The mare flew and covered the remaining distance. It didn't took too long for the pair to land on the cloud house. It was a relatively small thing, only barely 40 feet in both length and width. Other than a small attic on the top of the 1 story house, it was completely unremarkable in any way. Winterglade nervously knocked the door twice. "I'm sorry I dragged you into this, Fender," she said to Fender. "Maybe I was too rushed to go home, I didn't even excused my leave to my boss-" "There you are!" A cerulean pegasus mare was standing on the now wide open door, a huge smile on her face. She was slightly taller than Winterglade, almost reaching Fender's own height, and her frame was much stockier than any usual mare. Winterglade looked positively small in comparison. Winterglade's ears fell. "Uhm... Hi, big sis. This is Fender. I'm here to visit m- Eep!" Before she could finish her sentence, the older mare snatched her hooves and dragged her into the building. "We can talk about you later. Mother is waiting for you!" said the cerulean mare, urgency was clear in her voice. Winterglade tried to shy away, but before she could say anything both mare disappeared behind a closed door at the far end of the room. Silence quickly filled the living room, the front door still left open. A lone ash gray pegasus stallion sat on a couch, unassuming and unmoving. He took a look to the other stallion in vicinity. "Are you coming in?" the stallion inquired to Fender.

After clearing up the train with what little they brought along with them, Winterglade trotted side by side with Fender out from the station. It was quite nostalgic to see the majestic city after years she was away. Winterglade chuckled on Fender being marvelled in awe by the city. As soon as they were airborne, she gave the stallion a playful nudge. "You haven't seen nothing yet. There are a lot of great places in the center of the city, maybe we can take a look at them after we're done with my family." She sighed. "My house is somewhere in the north east of the town. Let's go." The mare flew in silence to the familiar direction. The city had changed quite a lot during her absence, but she still could recognize the various landmarks as if she was just here yesterday. Trees, parks, shops, everything seemed so familiar, but she paid no mind to all of it. The sun was nearly set when she finally caught her house's silhouette from far away. The mare stopped abruptly in her flight. She shivered. "Uhm... Do you think they're going to be upset with me?" she asked to Fender. "It's been so long since the last time I visited them."

ooc A New Life: Manehattan Story
Starshine replied to Starshine's topic in Everfree Planning, OOC & Discussion
Hopefully we can get some nifty story out of it It's almost two months since the last post, but it certainly feels like danged forever -
OOC The train ride had been rather uneventful. Winterglade found herself unable to keep her eyes open, even though she already had a nice 5 hours of sleep from the night before. Her mind was overrun with inner turmoil. The letter was too vague and short, there was no way to tell what had happened back in her home. The sound of the train cars in motion sounded like a constant whispers to her ears, alluring her to take another rest. She did just that. Her head rested on Fender's strong shoulder, she entered the dreamland once more. *** It's almost sunset when the train finally arrived in Manehattan's station. The sudden stop nearly threw Winterglade out of balance. With a start she jolted awake and quickly scampered to her hooves. "Whoa... That was fast," she muttered. She shook her head a few times to drive away the drowsiness before turning to Fender. There was a huge patch of dried saliva on his shoulder. The mare smiled nervously. "Whoops. Sorry for that, Fender. I guess I slept a bit too much." Winterglade spared a glance through the cabin's window. Manehattan's station, true to its name, was quite huge. There were ponies as far as eye can see, each minding their own business. It seemed that this station was the train's last stop for the day. "Uhm, anyway, it looks like it's almost dark. Do you think we can make it there flying through the dark?" Winterglade asked Fender. She didn't particularly dig in the idea of flying over the bustling city without the sun's guidance, but on the other hoof she was desperate to know what was going on in her family.

RP This private RP is a continuation of a small part of the "A new Life in Ponyville - A Month Later". This RP will cover on what happened after Winterglade and Fender left Ponyville for Manehattan after she received an urgent letter from her family. This is their story. Summerfall cocked her head slightly to the side in both wonder and confusion hearing Luminescence's reply, along with her rather peculiar posture from earlier. It seemed to be rather unusual for a filly to do that seemingly militaristic salute, especially when it's done to a stranger. Summerfall raised an eyebrow in curiosity when Luminescence wished that her answer would not disappoint her. It was definitely odd, Summerfall wasn't exactly expecting a filly to renounce her reasoning to a greater extent, but then again, Luminescence wasn't exactly your everyday filly. Summerfall chuckled inwardly when Luminescence said that she had no other secret worthy of keeping other than her own presence. How wrong would that be. There was always a secret one would like to keep to themselves, no matter who they were. Summerfall understood that in this case, Luminescence's parents and home would be the forbidden subject. If Lapis' questions were any indication, the stallion would be very quick to try to inquire who she really was and where her house and family would be, without any regard on the filly's privacy and personal space. Summerfall couldn't help it. She walked closer to Luminescence and hugged her from the side briefly, a content smile adorned her face. "Of course I trust you, Luminescence." She had earned the Luminescence trust much earlier than she thought. It was good, it made her plan to find her parents' names much easier. Maybe after talking with Vim they can sit down and talk together over the lunch. The mare chuckled to herself before continuing. "I know that you will be careful on our way to the conductor. I will keep you safe. Let me do most of the talking with Vim, you wouldn't have to say anything unless you want to. We will have to go through the dining car before we can get to the conductor, but I think the fruit sandwiches can wait until we are finished talking with him. It won't do us any good if we sit down among other passengers and eat some before negotiating you a ticket on the train. There might be still some ponies having lunch in the dining car, but I say we can just trot through them. Socializing can wait until later," Summerfall put an emphasize on the last part by motioning her hoof to the back of the train. After making sure her bits pouch was secured for the last time, Summerfall snatched the room's key and made her way to the door. "Well then, shall we?" she called out to Luminescence. She unlocked the door slightly and slowly peeked her head through the gap. The car was empty, much to her delight, and the room 8's door was still closed. There was no clear sign of struggle against its frame or any claw marks that might implied something terrible. With a nudge of a hoof she pushed the door a bit wider and trotted through it. She waited for Luminescence to trot out before locking the door once more. Summerfall took a deep breath before looking at Luminescence. "Let's go," she said to the filly, great determination in her eyes. With certainty in her steps Summerfall trotted through the third passenger car straight to the dining car, while making sure that she trotted between Luminescence and the room 8, just in case something thought it would be a good idea to pounce on the filly. She was about to open the door to the dining car when she noticed that the dining area became a bit more crowded than before. From the window of the door, she observed that there wasn't seemed to be any new passengers, but somehow everypony was gathered in a single group. "This might be a bit complicated," mused Summerfall. It would be rather difficult for them to walk through unhindered when almost everypony was standing in their path. At least Asteria, Lapis, and Magicon were nowhere to be found. Vim was also absent from the dining car, it seemed that he was still comprehending Lapis and Springer somewhere further in the train. From the train crews, only Ambrosia was present. Summerfall hoped that the cook would just assume that Luminescence was a relative of hers and wouldn't ask any questions. The white pegasus stallion from earlier was still there, but he was currently busy talking with the cook. Dawn the unicorn still looked a bit shaken, but Summerfall decided that it was not her place to worry about the mare. Dawn was a medical unicorn, surely she would be more than capable to take care of herself Summerfall spared a glance to Luminescence. "Seems like we will have to talk our way through the dining car. Vim is a large, red earth pony stallion, you should be able to recognize him the moment you see him." Without any further ado Summerfall opened the door to dining car and walked to the gathering of ponies in the middle of the car. "Um, excuse me everypony," she talked out to nopony in particular, but she hoped that they would hear her. "Does anypony know where the conductor is? I want to talk to him about something." -

Summerfall smiled in unabashed content when Luminescence thanked her twice. She even smiled much more than before. The filly had been rather reserved since the she darted into the room, it was nice to see that she had started to warm up, albeit slightly. The mare hoped that the filly would trust her enough to recount about her parents' whereabout. Summerfall sighed inwardly, her smile wavered a little bit. Luminescence was right, they had no idea what was lurking in the room 8, and whether it could open doors or not. It was also understandable for her to feel uneasy on the ticket offer, but that shouldn't be for her to worry about. Summerfall chuckled slightly in a vain attempt to alleviate the mood before replying. "Of course I'm absolutely certain that I would like to buy you a ticket for the train, Luminescence. You shouldn't think that I felt imposed, if anything you are doing me a favor by keeping me company for the rest of the trip. That, and work on a train is hardly suitable for a filly. Not that I doubt your capability. I'm sure that you can be a great help for the crew, but that would be rather unnecessary. The conductor, or you can call him Vim, is a very reasonable stallion. He won't think poorly of you if you stay in this room, I'm sure of it." Summerfall paused a bit to weigh her options. She wanted to bring Luminescence along with her, to introduce the filly to the rest of the passengers so that tomorrow she would had much needed freedom on the train, but there was something else burdening her mind. "I would love to take you along and introduce you to the conductor. There are two other fillies on board, I'm sure that you will be in a good company once you get to know them, but unfortunately... I don't think that would be the best option." Her eyes wandered for a moment in half-doubt before meeting Luminescence's. "You see, about half an hour ago, when I was having a lunch in the dining car, there was quite a turmoil in that place. A lone mare was sitting by herself in the middle of the car, and then out of nowhere two stallions approached her. I know not the exact details, nor I wish to know more, but it ended with the conductor leading the two stallions out of the car. There is a possibility that he was still comprehending the rude stallions right now, and one of them is..." The mare trailed, doubt was quite visible on her face. She was not exactly sure on how she should describe Lapis without making him sounded like a devil incarnate. "...somewhat audacious. He wouldn't stop asking discrediting questions to the poor mare, that she broke into tears just before the conductor finally stood up and led them away from the mare. I'm afraid that this stallion would divert his attention to you once he heard about your story, Luminescence. I don't want to see him shoving you to a corner and start asking some very personal questions." Summerfall bit her lips. She knew that for a filly, being told to wait in a closed room with uncertainty looming wouldn't be the best experience. She remembered being told to sit idly for hours without anything to entertain her while her parents were away, it was certainly not her best childhood memory. Put the boredom factor together with the fact that Luminescence is an unicorn and whatever it is that was in the room 8, leaving her alone in the room didn't sound like a very good idea, even with Lapis' presence as a deterring factor, who was likely still having a conversation with Vim. There was also a possibility that Vim would take her attempt at hiding Luminescence in her room the wrong way and demanded the worst. After a moment of contemplation, the mare sighed in resignation. "If you want to come along, I won't stop you, but I ask that you promise me that you would be careful and never leave my side. If you choose to stay behind, I will leave the room's key with you, so you can lock the door from the inside. The decision is yours to make." The mare walked to retrieve the bit pouch she prepared earlier, pulled up the string and swung it around her neck like a necklace. The room's key was still on where she left it earlier, on the drawer beside some papers. She turned to face the door before looking back to Luminescence. "So, what would it be? Would you stay behind or come along with me to the conductor?" -
Well... I did some more digging, turns out Kiki was under constant treatment from various alternative treatments, and one of them, and the one people said was used quite majorly, was homeopathy. It's kind of saddening that people still use that kind of stuff in this modern age. I hope that those charity funds didn't get wasted on those alternative treatments that do nothing but placebo effect. My condolences to her friends and relatives. May the angels sing their lullabies to you in heaven up there, Kiki

Screw Love, screw tolerance and screw haters
Starshine replied to Gaullin Everfree's topic in Sugarcube Corner
That title Yes... fight fire with fire. Attack them where it hurts. Give them more reasons to sneer and shout at ponies, just the way they like it. Give them war! Destroy both sides while you're at it! ...Nah As the cute polar bear above me already said, violence begets violence. Don't give them any more fuel to attack you and everything you love about ponies. Just turn your head away and walk away with style -
/suddenly hugs That's actually quite intriguing Have you posted the fanfic somewhere?

Yep. You should do that! Still, just stay away in case someone thought it would be fancy if they throw up near there Welp, time for me to go. Good night!

Oh you... Just pour it out! In the future, you will reminiscence to that day fondly. Better get as many good memories as you can with your friends. I believe you have earned that much. Just don't go too close to the beer jugs, though. Also, congratulations on the graduation

I'm a... melancholic, no big surprise there. Though I've had some friends saying that I'm partially a choleric due to my stubbornness in certain tasks and projects. I personally can't really believe that all humans in the world can be divided into 4 nice categories like that. It's like chopping an entire forest to a four-square grids and saying, "there, all trees that have sharp leaves go there, round leaves go that way, no leaves stays here, and too many leaves go to that corner." I'm sure that there are a lot of unique cases where people has certain personality traits that can't be put into a single bracket.
