The business model in the game is a little weird but not as bad as some people make out. I can break it down into three areas, though Im only personally familiar with two of them:
Loadout Cards
Essentially there are 6 tiers of loadout cards:
Lead - A set of weapons + 1 perk
Iron - A set of weapons + 2 perks
Bronze - A set of weapons + 3 perks
Silver - A set of weapons + 3 perks
Gold - A set of weapons + 3 perks
Cobalt - A set of weapons + 3 perks
The only cards that increase your ability on the battle field are lead to bronze, everything past bronze is purely cosmetic. When you buy an elite case you are promised something that is at minimum a silver card so essentially you're buying a chance at one of the top three tiers of bling levels. You can purchase normal cases in game for about 1000 credits which you can earn easily if you play a few matches each day, especially considering you get a bonus for playing your first match each day plus completing the challenges that cycle every 3 hours. Bronze cards can be crafted fairly easily if you sacrifice 3 ( maybe 4, I forget) iron cards and pay a fee of 1000 credits.
So essentially, getting the top tier of perks is fairly easy for anyone willing to play a few hours of the game.
Mercenaries/Characters/Classes
People can purchase mercs if they want access to them permanently as people are only given permanent access to 3 at the beginning. It's about $10 to purchase a merc. Otherwise they rotate temporary access to 3 additional mercs every month (I believe, could be longer) allowing people to play those 3 mercs even if they haven't bought permanent access to them, allowing people to test out all the characters available in game.
Credit Boosters
The game also allows players to buy boosters that increase the amount of credits they earn from each match within a certain time limit. Plenty of MMOs and F2P games this and it's never really been much of an issue unless those credits can be used oti buy OP weapons and such. Im not that familiar with the boosters in this game as I haven't bought any.
Overall I haven't seen any real pay to win features in the game.
