It's funny to see ponies defending what was undeniably the worst episode of the season just because of derpy's return. I have no doubt by the end of the season when she has once again had some time to settle in ponies will be decrying it on the same level as Mare Do Well. As I stated in my review of it, the fun touches prevented it from being the worst episode of the series but weren't enough to make it a good one no matter how hard ponies try to convince themselves it was.

Okay apparently it got cut off. What I was getting at was we have had this message from Dash REPEATEDLY. I would have liked a different take on it. Rather than shoehorn the Wonderbolts into being 1 dimensional antagonists we could have had a legitimate loyalty quandry, Loyalty to home vs. Loyalty to friends. Alas twas not meant to be.

Broken characterization was what killed it for me. And as far as Bulk he was one of the fun touches I mentioned that kept it from being a complete failure. If you want a more in depth opinion I posted my review around page 8 of the thread for the episode. Only thing I wanted to mention was the fact that the same things ponies complained about in Mare Do Well are out in force here and are being praised. As stated it could have been worse, but sadly my high hopes were dashed, pun not intend...

Eventually they will learn to not be phased as much by change, but it will take time. Heck Star Wars has much worse things to be concerned about with Disney taking over and a new trilogy in the works yet far less drama is heard over there. So I think as time goes on the fandom itself, along with the show and its followers will begin to mature.

This fandom, while fun to be around, and generally nice really enjoys invoking 'RUINED FOREVER!' at the drop of a hat. First it was 'Lauren Faust left the show!', then this time last year it was 'Derpy will never appear again!', then it was 'Season 3 is only half length!', then 'Twilight is becoming an Alicorn!', and now 'Equestria Girls is real!' In the end though its simply the sign of a young fandom.

Not a fan of the style EqG has taken though the trailer does have something I am looking forward to being explored by this series. How a horse takes to being a human, seeing Twi as a human bend over and grab an apple off her plate with her mouth was hilarious and hopefully is the sort of thing they will focus on for the movie. I will reserve my full judgement until the movie comes out and I have seen it.
